The way Arthur talked about her and how Hosea asked about his new horse makes me feel like Arthur lost her quite recently. I always assumed she was killed in the Blackwater fiasco once Arthur and the rest finally arrived to help the others escape.
I believe you’re correct, it would explain why he has to borrow Tima, Charles’s horse and would explain why he has to take the one from the saddler ranch.
@@stevemccraine3772that's definitely the most believable way for Arthur to dislike Micah... not because of other reasonings that ppl come up with which makes no sense whatsoever
@@godzillazfrictionarthur said he doesnt like micah because he has no self control “i seen you come full undone more than once now and you only been ridin with us for a few months”
@@thefederalbureauofinvestig6467 that's definitely not the primary reason that he dislikes him... Arthur is also a hypocrite if he primarily dislikes him of that
In online you can apply cigarettes and cigars to an emote slot and sit there and puff as long as you want. Doesn't make sense to keep that feature from the main game
Like me he hates them lol ill still try to smoke one if im super stressed and always end repulsed by the taste and realize i wasted money on a pack, shouldve just bought weed lol
I have a theory that she died shortly before the gang arrived in Blackwater, and Arthur had difficulty replacing her. She's not mentioned in Arthur's journal at all, where I'd expect some line about losing her. The journal is also new, too, and there are some references to a fire in it. It also might be the reason why Arthur kept working on a con with Hosea rather than a larger ferry robbery where his skills would be highly valuable; he didn't have a horse he trusted if it went wrong.
Good point and I agree. I also think Arthur used other gang members horses whilst the gang were camped in Blackwater. We see him use Taima in the first mission until he find the TW in Sadie's barn and using other gang members horses was going to be something that was in the game, but it was cut. There are lines of dialogue that were recorded for it.
I think it makes sense that Arthur rode the Thoroughbred since it symbolized the father figures of Dutch and Hosea who rode the Turkoman and Arabian, which were influential forefathers of the Thoroughbred. It's also the only other main top tier breed that isn't taken by one of the other gang members.
I always keep the black shire from Hosea and name him Bart I know it's not the best horse in the game but Bart has treated me well across multiple playthroughs
You can get a new female horse and name them either Epona or Bonvica, the daughters of Boadicea. Although I doubt that Arthur has adequate the classical education to know that. Epona is more fitting though, as it is the gaelic name of the goddess of horses.
I think Boadecia died during the escape from blackwater. If i remember right, there is a small drawing of a horse in arthurs journal near or right after the page talking about running for weeks from blackwater.
@@Scared_Yoda Probably, but it could still be Boadecia due to being on the page before the map of Blackwater being X out and writing about the Blackwater disaster. It being a Tennessee Walker would make more sense if he drew the it on the page after the map of Colter and writing about Sadie and the O'Driscolls.
@@Scared_Yoda I'm guessing it's a drawing of any Tennessee Walker, if you somehow cheated to avoid the game forcing you to bond and ride it in the first two missions, and study, bond or ride any random Tennessee Walker later, guessing it will appear in the journal. But I like to think it's Boadecia due to it being in the Blackwater chapter of Arthur's journal.
There was a cut dialogue in camp as far as I knw Arthur in that dialogue said that Mac gave his horse and jacket to Arthur to run away by which Pinkertons got him and killed him.. I dnt knw its true or not.. saw lots videos about it on internet.. That's why many ppls are thinking Mac myb the Protagonist of RDR3 since his last doing is kind of Redemption.. and others says that Mac was heartless but was a good person too.. Don't knw what's Rockstars cookin'
I think it wasn't cut, I remember Arthur telling this to Sean in a camp encounter. Or it was something else, she more than likely died with Mack and we'll probably be both Davey and Mack who were remembered as true gunfighters by Micah
She rode with Mack when he decided to find a different path with her. Arthur let him but she more than likely died from pinkertons trying to stop mack who also mercifully killed him
I think she was either killed during the blackwater heist, or got spooked by gunshots, or loud noises during the heist so she fled, and arthur didn't have time to look for her, it's truly heartbreaking, I wish they made a mission in the epilogue where John finds boadicea and gets to keep her
I've heard some people suggest that she could have been a silver dapple pinto (Missouri fox trotter) as well. As he seems well informed of the horse when helping the photographer guy get a picture of the herd of wild horses. I'm intrigued by the liver chestnut Hungarian halfbred though, curious that it was a deleted file for sure! I really love this game 😁
I have a theory of how she could have died if she did. Colic is something horses can get and it can be lethal. Many things can cause it such as lack of water, sudden change in diet, poor quality feed and stress. As for the type of colic is see spasmodic colic being likely. Spasmodic colic is when the digestive track of a horse start having spasms, leading to gas getting trapped, this can rupture the stomach or displace the colon of a horse. While they were escaping to Colter the sudden and hurried change could’ve stressed Boadicea so much that she got it. Seeing as colic is extremely painful and fresh snow is hard to walk in, Arthur could’ve had a hard time leading her and keeping her from rolling. Shittiest thing about colic is that if the horse rolls they can further complicate their own situation, making it harder to fix it. Eventually she would lay down and not get up, not from suddenly dying but from not having the endurance to keep moving anymore. The reason I have this theory is because colic is incredibly common in horses, even if they are healthy. It can turn the most resilient and strong horses into a weak, dying animal in the matter of a few minutes.
In a conversation if i remember it was a random incounter from sean where he speaks that he let mack callandar ride her and he used callandars horse. So boadicea died with mack callandar which she died as a result from the Pinkertons who were interrogating mack which they presumably killed her to interrogate him and gave him a mercy killing, of course this was during the blackwater heist. Which he rescued the gang but sacrificed her so mack can distract them i think. I assume in rdr3 we'll see arthur ride with her but we play as the callandar boys in rdr3 especially mack and davey with possible 2 nee additions of gang members a supposed traitor and jenny. Which we'll see Arthur leaving his horse probably an emotional scene
I thought Mac was riding Bodacea and that's how Arthur lost her. Now I'm taken back because I thought that was already known information but now I gotta rethink it.
That is still just a theory. We unfortunately just do not know about all the tiny details of the black water escape. Only things we know for certian about mack is that 1.) Him and davey were brothers 2.) He was well respected by the gang 3.) He was capable in a fight, both with guns and fist fights 4.) He liked to drink 5.) He was seperated from the gang during the escape, captured and killed by the pinkertons. Obviously since the only information we know comes from camp interaction from other gang members, and other character perspectives, it leaves A LOT of room for interpretation from the player base.
He wouldn't have gone that long without a new horse. He had to have lost her right before Charles got injured in Blackwater making him unfit to ride and the obvious choice for who had to loan out their horse to Arthur
Dutch or Javier mentioned ‘by the time you boys got to the other side of town, we were only just holding on’ and blackwater isn’t that big so I imagine they were on foot
He has a picture of Bodecia that’s he draws in his journal. He lost her running from Black Water, based on the picture she is actually an American Standardbred. From the side by side comparisons to all the other breeds. And to further add to this theory, He bonds with American Standards faster than any horse in game. Just my 2cents worth. You learn a lot about the game actually reading all his Journal, you’ll even find he wishes he never would have met Marry and wonders what it would have been like if he would have asked Abagail to marry him. 😮
i'd always assumed that she either passed before/during the blackwater escape. i like to headcanon hosea or dutch gifted him the horse when he was young and fairly fresh to the gang. almost like an official initiation. i would think young arthur got her as a filly, to teach him the ins and outs of training his own companion, which assumes that she would be at *least* 24 by the time red dead redemption ii takes place, (arthur being in his mid thirties and all). most horses only live 20-35 years (and potentially less so considering the differences in veterinarian care at the time, not to mention with the gang's arduous/dangerous life), so it wouldn't be unlikely for her to have died peacefully of old age, or in the blackwater escape, as mentioned in the video. i like to hope boadicea died peacefully with arthur at her side before the events in blackwater. it feels fitting for the both of them to have died facing the sun, and i like to think if anyone were to guide him to an afterlife, it would be her.
At one point arthur describes his own role in the gang as being the work horse. So I always liked to immagine his horse as a Foxtrotter or an Appaloosa. A trusty sturdy american breed with enough stamina to transport qrthur across the vast map of RDR2 without tiring too early. But also a war horse seems quite fitting for aomeone like Arthur who is basically the master at arms for the gang (since his tent is also the ammunition depot)
I found a paint in the mists of the geysers, apparently she's rare but I didn't know that, and she's my one. Ms. Kitty can win any race, power any fight, and look damn fine doing it
On my 3rd playthrough I kept the same Tennesee walker that we found up at Sadies Cabin, Ive thought about swapping the horse but Ive felt like that realistically, Arthur wouldnt want a new horse after bonding and having one for so long. Especially now im in chapter six it would be a little late to change horses. Especially after knowing its eventual fate.
Who knows what she is I do think that draft horses fit Arthur, like the raven Blackshire and the iron gray Ardennes, since Arthur is a brave character and he stocky build like these horses
sometimes when i play with mods i like to spawn in the liver chestnut hungarian halfbred just north of blackwater and pretend to stumble back into “boadicea” and use that horse for the rest of the playthrough
in the trailer there is an episode where Arthur rides with the gang through Lanshawt Blackwater. Sitting on a horse that is not in the game. This scene is not in the plot, I'm sure it was cut out. And this horse is Boudicca
my theory is that arthur lost it in blackwater let me explain in cut dialogue if arthur gave dutch the smoke pipe arthur would detail how mac stayed behind for arthur and let him take his horse arthur wouldnt need to use another persons horse unless his died recently and couldnt get a replacement
Got my own theory here, whether it be bullshit or not 😂 Personally, I believe that she just died of old age, from what we know, the gang didn’t use the horses until the end of the mission as it took them a while to cross town, it could also be that she got shot during a previous mission and had been borrowing a different horse (taima) as Charles has a somewhat freshly burnt hand in colter, there’s also no mention of Charles in blackwater
My headcanon is that Arthur and John both got their horses together, so then Boadicea would be the Hungarian Halfbred since Old Boy is the same breed. I like to think that Boadicea and Old Boy were siblings. This would make sense since Arthur and John basically grew up together as brothers so them getting horses that were siblings could make sense. IDK just my theoretical headcanon
Maybe you can answer my question because its seriously baffled me. There is always a white dot in Arthur's tent or room in shady belle but there isn't anything there. Is there something I'm missing? I'm pretty new to it I'm only on My second play through. If micha was around it wouldn't surprise me if he killed her.. I'm not going to spoil it for anyone but players that have finished will get me. As it starts so it ends. Thank you!
You can get a copy of boudicea in the epilogue you can purchase the silver dapple pinto Missouri fox trotter which was boudicea idk why people think its another kind of horse when clearly Arthur referenced it during the horse photo shoot mission
@@TokerJoker420 How do you know that? He doesn't say I had one or my old horse was one. He simply knows horses. If someone points out a nice looking car to me and my response is that's a blue1967 Shelby GT500 that does not mean I have ever owned one. It just means I recognize the make model and color and I may say it with a tone that implies I wish I owned one but once again it does not mean I ever have.
@@TokerJoker420 Agree to disagree. I do agree he says it with admiration but I don't think this is evidence that Bodecia was the same breed and coat. I have also hear more that once that she was a Hungarian halfbreed as found in the game files but who knows as I have not personally seen that evidence either.
Can you please do a “wasted potential” video about New Austin with Arthur. It’s obvious Arthur was intended entry but R* went out of their way to block players from entering without exploits and thereby also hurting the lore of the first game and disrespecting the fans who want to have more fun as Arthur. it makes no sense because Arthur being there doesn’t hurt the lore of the original game but John being there does since he’s supposed to be new and unfamiliar with it in 1911. Blocking John from entering makes much more sense. Edit: Thanks
Some people guessed boadicea was a missory fox trotter, other guessed it was a very uneque Hungarian Halfbred. There is no way to be sure which breed of horse it was.
I have a theory my theory is about who bodecea is you all know how you can find the white arabian horse up near colter i think thats bodecea because he had recently lost her when we start the game and he mentions how she was so beautiful so thats my theory correct me if I’m wrong about anything
I feel like R* wouldve made something like that be more obvious. Like, an actual small cutscene or him being able to say "hey, missed you" to imply a reunion with an old companion or something. There just no way R* wouldnt make something like the player finding arthur long lost horse up for interpretation. They would make it clear, especially with how much they emphasized how important a horse is to not just the game, but the character. Its also very unlikely they'd have arthur have an near identical horse to dutch. Theres a lot of symbolism that goes into the gang members horses, and none of them identical horses.
@@forsakenmarksman755don’t think he had to worry about lead poisoning with that many bullets 🤣 because of how quickly he died and didn’t get a headshot wound, he died of exsanguination aka just bled to death
