Quick thing: Hunson does tell Finn that he grew up wearing the amulet, and I think there's a nugget of truth in that the same way Ice King once said "I made the Crown"

I like the theory that he found the artifact, because I feel like primordials tend to understand their nature and past in the monster sea, and it makes sense that, similarly to Simon, Hunson found the amulet and it changed him. I wish they'd done more with his character, hopefully we'll get more in Fiona and Cake

What I wonder the most is how did Marcy's mom bag Hunson? Like, Marcy's mom doesn't initially seem like someone Hunson would resist soul-sucking and form a relationship with. Kinda wanna learn how they met before Marcy's mom got radiation sickness too (and how Hunson got separated from Marcy's mom).

Simon even knew about him. When he starts to slip into the ice king he says he knows who to call to make sure Marcy is safe. Then she’s only a little bit older when we see flashbacks of her with Hunson. So the theory he knew Simon is pretty good!

There’s little to no evidence but the most chilling theory I have heard from Marceline’s father revolves around manipulating memories since we are introduced to the fry eating scene while fin and jake are inside Marcelines memories, the theory goes he might of eaten marcelines mom or maybe even her remains. Then altered Marcelines memory to him eating her fries.

Oh dang, Hudson being a former pre war Human is like one of the oldest theories in the fandom that I know of. There was fanart for the theory I saw way back in the 2010s-ish. XD That's like a trio with "The Lich was Finn's dad" and "Both of them knew Simon before he changed". XD also... Given Hudson says his own father passed the Amulet of the Nightosphere to him, I guess it's maybe *possible* he was a former human... but being from the 20/21st century is probably unlikely. Now the real mystery is how Marcy's mom, Elise, managed to seemingly have fond memories of him given one of her first lines is "and that's how i met your dad".

Several years ago, my sibling and I used to read the Adventure Time comics. One of them, Seeing Red, has an entire backstory about how Hunson Abadeer became the ruler of the Nightosphere. It also adds onto his first appearance where he comments on Marceline turning the family axe into a guitar. To be fair, however, the comic came out much later than that episode. In the comic, there were 2 evil slug monsters that ruled the Nightosphere and when Hunson arrived there, he spent a very long time creating the axe as a weapon to win a war. When Marceline was a toddler, she took an interest in the axe, so Hunson turned the axe into a guitar as a gift for her. I'd like to think that perhaps Hunson forgot(??) just to make the series make sense with the comic, but it could have just been an afterthought from the creators. It is a very well done comic and expands on Marceline's history, her friendship with Jake, and her whole Scream Queen thing.

I wish Simon and Hunson met face to face once, or at least see what happened when Simon first summoned him

I like this theory, although I suspect he would most likely have been a politician in his human existence instead of a businessman. And there's no proof, but I've always had this idea that Maja the Sky Witch was another daughter of his. What if he was a sleazy politician who made a literal deal with the devil who ran the Nightosphere to have ultimate control?

I was going to contest the ideas of Hunson being a contemporary of Simon because in that one episode where Simon leaves Marceline, he says he’ll call someone to help her which ended up being Hunson (the episode where he gives Marcy the axe). Meaning that Hunson already was the way he was sometime before meeting Simon when Simon left Marcy. But also that the incantation to summon him was within the knowledge that Simon might’ve been studying. Moreover, Hunson passed down demon powers to Marcy, she was a demon at birth and therefore Hunson had to be a demon at her inception, so he could not have been a human when he was with Marcy’s mother and then become a demon after her birth but rather he had to be a demon before that and Marcy’s mother had been with Hunson has a demon either knowing he was a demon or not. However, it could still align itself with the theory that Hunson was a regular guy until he either invited a primordial into himself as a vessel (and the incantation to summon him could be for that primordial’s vessel) but that must’ve happened before the mushroom war, before Marceline birth and before Simon’s involvement with the crown. Sounds like he was the CEO of the Businessmen who eventually used the amulet to start a better business, managing the Nightospheres (like his own father). Just like Marceline, he started out on a different track then his father wanted for him but ended up being the CEO of, essentially, Hell. Also, theres a demon names Abaddon irl, so i think hes probably of a demonic line. I liken Marceline to Raven and Abadere to Triggon. I dont think i need to speak on Marcelines mother in this situation.

I think that a story on how did Marceline's mother knew Hunson would be interesting, i mean. We know that Hunson needs to be summoned, that means that maybe Marceline's mother was presented at the cult or she performed the invocation.

Hunson, being evil, I believe was probably an evil ceo for fun, because he's probably not human, because even when he takes the amulet off, he's still looks the same, sure time could I GUESS leave him looking like that, but personally I don't think so, also Abadeer has the same personality even in that young Marceline flashback where he busts through her little hur, meaning he's been doing what he was doing for a loooooong time, or I guess a theorized long time, like I feel like his charcter had wayyyy too developed in the time of the mushroom war for him to have gotten that nightosphere job within that century, also I THINK he said he doesn't remember his original form or something like that, idk, if he was once human I'm almost nearly certain that it would've been stated within the show, maybe a photo that Marceline's mom had or something like that, there wouldn't be nothing if he was once kniwn to be a normal guy

Hunson Aberdeer is also the name of a band favored by someone on the AT team, according to an article I read a while back about Aberdeer lol

I really do hope we get his backstory in a spin off eventually. Easily my favorite character that was barely explored in the original series.

My theory, Hunson was the Marceline of the last Universe with his parent being the previous Hunson until eventually Hunson had taken their place and became the ruler of The nightosphere, he said that he was raised to be evil so that makes sense that his parent wanted him to be evil or was evil themself, so Hunson like the Lich and Orgalorg had come from the previous universe, and like his parenthe wanted to create a heir, repeating the cycle as it were since with something as old as Hunson and even Marceline, they see the cycle repeat mode then once, this is just my theory since we never see Marceline's grandparents after all as well

I don’t think this theory very likely at all. Hudson says that’s how he grew up, not i found the amulet or i made the amulet, like the ice king. And Marceline got soul sucking from her father and she didn’t need the amulet for that, and Hudson never says the amulet grants powers, he just says it fills the wielder with chaotic evil. Another question is if Simon knew Hudson, why didn’t he know marceline was his daughter? What I’m trying to say is that Hudson says that he wants Marceline to take over the family business, which implies that Marceline’s soul sucking, comes from her bloodline, not primordial monster magic.

The biggest question is how he met marcy's mom

What the heck makes you think he was a scientist? Businessman or politician I could see, but he doesn't seem to have anything to do with science. Further, Marceline was born a half-demon *before* the mushroom war, which means that Hunson was already a demon when things were still relatively normal. Other than his resemblance to the businessmen there's really nothing at all that could possibly suggest he was ever not a demon.

But in season 10 episode titled "Marcy and Hudson" he had a good redemption arc

I always thought that at some point it will be revealed that all three "bad entities" of the show got their power because of different artifacts that they found thanks to Enchiridion. Remember that fan art where Ice King, Hunson Abadeer and Lich are depicted in their prior human forms? That's what I mean. Instead, we only got Simon's story and a hint of what's happened with Hunson. But the Lich being "just a servant of Golb" was kind of a disappointment. I always thought I'd be much cooler if he was also a human once, maybe one of the scientists, but then got obsessed with Golb and ended up going mad and beginning his quest for the extermination of all life.

I think it would actually be better for him to have been always a Primordial, just a Primordial that is somewhat close to human-like creatures in terms of thought. I think his human look is mostly a vessel that he builds so he can feel closer to his dead (wife? girlfriend? fling?) and Marceline because he does clearly care about her, in his own very strange way. I might be remembering incorrectly, but isn't there a house very similar to hers in the Nightosphere? I wonder who could have built that...

he feel like an rich wall street guy( the way he act and the way he dress is more like a wall street guy then a scientist ) that like to buy and collected artifact and his link to Simon is he is the guy that finance Simon and his girlfriend to go around the world and collected artifact . ( we all know Antiquarian do not make a lot of money and they mostly require and organization or financier to fund their project and research.)

id like the idea i mean Simon's research would need a business man behind it to fund it right also help explain marcy demon like roots prior to her vampire stuff that abadeer got into some demon stuff maybe even had simon lookin into stuff for him while simon took to the crown though accidentally by simply wearing it maybe the amulet did same to abadeer the real them being over written by the magic of the items explains how marcy already has demon like features and abilities while also being around simon when she was little and prior to his Ice king transformation

Hunson mention to Marcy that ruling the nightosphere is a family business so at least hunson father had to be the past ruler before him so i doubt he was ever human or at least not from the same age as simon, betty, patience or Elise. Also, isn't very likely that Elise summon him as a experiment? She has access to a bunker so she was someone important. So my theory is: Elise discover a way to summon the ruler of the nightosphere, she does it and Hunson come. he find this woman interesting and Elise find him and his world fascinating so both get to socialize and fall in love, they get to level 15 and 9 months later marcy is born with Hunson being there since he has photos of newborn marcy and its also very likely he was the one that took the photos of elise and Marcy in the beach and in those she look like at least 3 years old. And later he got summon by Simon to take care of marcy (although the way simon says it it sound more like threatened him) and he did for at least 2 years judging by marcy appearance when simon left her and in the fries flashback I want to believe Hunson really love Elise but he is still a demon he doesn't know anything about the human society thats why he is the way he is.

This is super interesting but the big issue is, I’m sure Abadeer is inherently a demon, since the genes passed onto Marceline. I’m pretty sure wearing the amulet as a human or other entity doesn’t turn you into a demon. (Finn wears the amulet and only goes through a transformation wearing it, and going back to his original form immediately afterwards.) Abadeer also mentioned his father wore it before him, which is another strong indicator that he was born into this line, and his family before him were demons as well. Maybe wearing it for a prolonged period of time turns you into a demon? …but I honestly highly doubt that. I think the character designs happen to be very similar.
