Elon Musk, Tesla and the UAW have a long and complicated union-related past. Tesla has been accused on numerous occasions of unfair labor practices in relation to its workers, specifically at its Fremont Facility. In 2018, the UAW alleged that Tesla fired an employee for trying to start a union. Over the years, the issue has continued with Musk publicly proclaiming on several occasions that Tesla has no intention of preventing its employees from unionizing; a claim that the UAW clearly does not believe.
