The Use of Snow in Movies 

Howdy, film fans.
In this video essay, your pal, Mr. Book and Movie Guy, looks at some examples of movies that are set during Christmas/winter or which use snow, and the various purposes for which they do so. I touch on such smash hits as Wind River, The Shining, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, Fargo, The Hateful Eight, The Lodge, I'm Thinking of Ending Things, Iron Man 3, The Force Awakens, and Daddy's Home 2.
I don't dive too deeply into any one film, and instead try to cover each broadly through the lens of snow. There was some content I cut where I got into more specifics, especially for The Shining and The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, so if there's anything you want me to cover in more detail, let me know and I might be open to giving it a try.
