The Vampire Diaries "THE DEVIL INSIDE" (S5E12 REACTION!!!) 

Yeah, a lot of people point to her breakdown in Stand By Me as her best acting, but i think it's this episode here. Like, when she's on the bed and changes from Katherine to Elena, you can tell in an instant just by the expression on her face that she's not the same character anymore. And later, at the party, I think she does an amazing job playing it as enough like Katherine that we, the viewers, have no doubt that it's Katherine, while also playing it enough like Elena that I can believe her friends would be fooled.

(4 months late but 🤷🏿‍♂️) Well, I see you point and it makes sense what you're saying but it doesn't exactly give him any kind of a pass and I believe people have all the right in the world to attack Damon for his actions. It was disappointing to find this out and seeing what he does at the end. Even when he was banging Elena all summer, he still had time to go and kill another innocent person. So being with Elena doesn't exactly make him totally good. So this action he has taken up by killing the dude at the end was not really out of left field. Katherine didn't exactly lie when she was critiqued the over reliance placed on Elena's love to make Damon "good" or want to be good. I know, he becomes "truly good" eventually. He's been very "good" (for most of the time for a long time now) periodically and outright "terrible" sometimes. 5 years of torture = massacre of innocents generations over, apparently. Not saying torture is a cake walk, nope. Not at all. He turned off his humanity during the escape and if it was still turned off, I'd understand, not excuse him, but I'll fully understand, but he has had it on for a long time and he's still committed. It doesn't erase all the good things he's done so far and they have been rather numerous but it just adds to the incredibly long list of terrible things he has done, which he has cut back on considerably since his first introduction. Of course, I believe you know all this already so have a nice day.

Yeah. I hated that Tyler got so much hate for being heartbroken, angry when he literally lost everyone in his family, he's got the guilt of not being able to save his mother, the hybrids. Finally when he wanted to put all that behind, Caroline slept with his mom's murderer.

I totally agree. I don’t ship Delena that much but Caroline is super hypocritical of Elena and Damon’s relationship. Since she slept with Klaus and has some sort of connection with him. Elena never judged Caroline for her feelings with Klaus. But I still love Caroline but her one flaw is her being hypocritical

I think his hatred for Tyler’s character blinds him so much, that it’s becoming annoying. It’s not hard to understand why Tyler was upset. His obviously hurt because he loved Caroline, and to him that was the worse betrayal.

@@TheShiawasena I've had this conversation so many times over true years. I think some are still up on other people's reactions from several years back. Bonnie of all people should've known that Katherine wasn't dead, but she said nothing for some reason. Even if Kat Grant wasn't available for the episode they could've easily down something off screen, which they've done many times before.

@@lucariomew365 Exactly and in the last episode, they were all together with Bonnie when she saw Katherine after she passed away for second, so if she had passed through her, they would have noticed Bonnie's reaction. But even if not, she herself mentioned that she saw Katherine and then suddenly no one continued the topic?

Agreed! He has every right to be angry, yet some people don't feel he does. If it was reversed and he slept with someone who killed her mom she would be FURIOUS. Also exactly I really don't think he would've physically hurt her.

Like it bugs me that this dude automatically hates and can’t stand Tyler and annoyingly calling him bitch-face, which at this point is no longer funny, for his actions. But when it comes to Damon and all the others who make dumb and aggressive decisions, some where they deserve just as much or equal backlash, he plays favorites and don’t bother holding them to their actions and all that.

@@LittleLondonCottages I’mean none of that wouldn’t have happened in the first place if Klaus hadn’t killed his mom,. It all started when he came to MF to break the cruse and as a result of all the shit that ensued later on, Tyler just wanted to be free of him but then Klaus killed his mother, who was the only living Lockwood relative he had left and then became alone after that. Anybody would’ve done the same. I get what you are saying but realistically, Sometimes Love isn’t enough to make you move on from grieve when your entire family is gone and at the same time the man responsible for taking away the last member of your family is still around getting away with it.

yeah, they had to ~make sure~ katherine was in and to do that they had to dumb down elena a lot of the things that don't make sense (like caroline overpowering damon, damon overpowering kol) are just due to wanting the plot to go that way so they potentially had to weaken and dumb down the character in order to do so kind of compromising them in the process unfortunately, a fair amount of shows do this so i'm used to it and tvd is still one of my favorite shows but it does annoy me that certain characters have to take a hit just for things to go the way they want them to for the overall plot

If bad thing is brought up about any character you can guarantee someone will show up to make it about damon. It's because people cannot except the fact that you can like multiple conflicting characters. It's middle school mentality. "well I'm Stefan's fan so I have to hate damon" "and I'm a damon fan which means I hate Stefan and we're Mortal enemies!", is basically what it's like and makes no sense.

The difference is that at this moment in the series Stefan is no longer in love with Elena he is recovering from his relationship with her but he has closed his feelings for her, so Stefan cannot be happy about something that no longer interests him as a woman in I change when Stefan broke up with Elena, Damon was neither in love with him so sorry for Stefan but happy for himself. If Stefan were still in love with Elena he would be happy for himself too, in fact when Elena always chose Stefan in 3x22 I don't think Stefan was not happy to have been chosen by Elena

How did he depend on Katherine to be a good person? If anything Katherine came in to (SPOILER, SPOILER, SPOILER) two abused and emotionally damaged boys lives and threw them into chaos, turmoil and death. Of course damon being a protective older sibling took the brunt of it and as a result is way more mentally unstable than Stefan. Everyone in this show needs their own therapist lol

I guess it was just the way it was worded 😅 SPOILERS I think Bonnies friendship is what truly opened damon heart again because it wasn't like a familial or romantic relationship. Family your kid da stuck with love them or hate them and romantic relationships were always tragic for him but Bonnie just cared about him because she loved him as a person. Someone she saw potential in and that made him see his potential because their wasn't anything damon had the Bonnie could have been trying to manipulate out if him, they just had a genuinely loving friendship.... Eventually lol

Except it was her plan for Jeremy to kill cole which also killed every vampire in his sire line, and she stabbed Rebecca in the back which temporarily kills her, she tried to kill Katherine while Bonnie was in danger, and then went back and tried to kill her again, she stabbed Jeremy in the neck and killed him when she knew she had been seeing things, and she killed Alaric once although it kinda worked out

She also just killed Jesse

There is nothing wrong with needing someone in life a lot especially for guys like Damon who was always rejected and unloved from the very base of his life. He reacts like this because every time he is happy something happens to him that destroys his happiness, do not stop at appearances, Damon has big emotional problems and it is not his fault and this unfortunately are the consequences. Wanting a person in your life a lot because it brings you good is the first step in healing these wounds.

@@andreearamona1 Frankly, it is definitely his fault that he turns into the old Damon and starts killing people when the person he loves is not around. Emotional problems exist in everyone, and at first he was the one who left Elena anyway. I love Damon, but at the slightest thing he wipes everything out and turns into a bad guy. When Elena refused Damon, he killed Jeremy. He killed the boy Elena began to befriend because now Elena broke up with him. Whenever Elena breaks up with Damon, will he go and hurt Elena's loved ones?

He will become a person when he wants to be, even when she is not around . Spoilers.. Bonnie did that to him in season 6 and after that. That's y I love their relationship more than damon and elena

@@manasas868 She definitely is helping him bc despite what happened in this episode, s5 Damon isn’t s1 Damon. Already we’ve seen him care about Liz, defend Caroline against Liz when she found out her daughter was a vampire, he cares about Jeremy’s life, he helps Elena get Bonnie back as the anchor, and he’s actually forming a relationship with his brother whereas prior to Elena, they disliked each other and had been estranged. He is becoming a good person, the journey isn’t perfect tho. This episode had to do with people telling him he’s a monster and him self-destructing to prove them all right. SPOILER All of Damon’s friendships (Alaric, Liz, Bonnie, Rose, and even Enzo) impact and influence him in some way but you cannot say that anyone influenced him more than Elena, she’s the one who showed him compassion and made him believe he was worth saving when everyone else only saw bad. Since you believe Bonnie did more for his development, please give me examples of how Bonnie changed/influenced Damon.

I feel like the punch was understable, cuz Tyler let the anger to take control and could be dangerous. I personally don't think that he would do anything to actually hurt Caroline like that, but Stefan acted on the moment and to bring Ty to the ground.

I consider Caroline very hypocritical yes, but a toxic person no, now this word "toxic" is used everywhere without really knowing when to say it. Tayler is right to be angry and think badly of Caroline yes, he told him to make her feel bad he is right but Tayler has excessive violence by his nature and I did not appreciate the aggression towards Caroline if it were not for Stefan who knows if not there. 'attacked, I think so is not the first time he has done so with her.

@@andreearamona1 When i say Caroline is toxic, I mean it at a person not specifically in this situation, the way she always want to be right or just treat her friends, like when she just assumed that Stefan and Elena where having something and jump on conclusion or when Elena was happy with Damon but she just can’t be happy for her friend or when she just scream at her that she was sired to Damon ! Like sorry but for me she was a horrible friend, just my opinion I always love her but she so hypocrit, she was hangry at Elena for Damon but sleep with klaus who literraly kill the mom of her ex boyfriend and the aunt of her best friends (and I know that Caroline have right to be mad at Damon for what he did to her but she was not even mad about this she just wanted to control the live of her friends)

Season 5 is one of the weaker ones in my opinion too. However I do really enjoy this season finale. Season 6 is better then this one to me.
