I have the Toyota Hilux rogue 2021 and I can honestly say with the inclusion of a electronic roller door tread with caution. I’ve had nothing but issues with mine, either getting stuck, draining the battery and the included tub lights not turning off. If there was an option of using the manual release I would use that.
How much better do you feel the V6 is and it’s the tech in the sport enough am battling between the sport or wildtrack .I want the power and want to keep the cost down .
@@godfreyjnbaptiste5863 we have had the 2.0 and the 3.2. Its night and day compared to both of those engines in the way it delivers its power, very smooth and seamless. The ride characteristics is probably 25% better in feel also. The tech is great and maybe a bit of a learning curve with its layout. I chose the sport because it had everything I needed. Wildtrack has heated seats/black hood lining and and some different exterior stuff but nothing major.
@@barrakingbeatz7794 Great choice I have a year on my lease but I will be ordering mine in 8 weeks I will be going for the Wildtrak as I have a 2021 Wildtrak X bi turbo which is a great car. I am looking at the yellow what color did you opt for?
Why does the new Ute look like an old Amarok that has had a plastic nudge bar embedded in the front after a chain collision? Further, disc brakes on the rear in a Ute? Only been fitted to most cars since the late 1980.s but glad to see they finally got around to it. No, the interior doesn’t look like it’s a $75,000 vehicle and less so in the Raptor version which will set you back $91,000. A cheap centre screen and a electronic dash do not make up for the cheap plastics and while I haven’t sat in the rear of one yet, the rear doors look suspiciously short like the old Amarok which was suitable only for small children and amputees in the rear. At least they finally decided the rear passengers deserved to live and put rear curtain airbags in the back, but decided against centre airbags so you still get to beat your brains out on the person next to you in the event of a side collision. Nope, the V6 seems plenty powerful but this is not much more than a cynical marketing exercise, not a true new vehicle that moves the benchmark forward. A few trinkets here and there and some cheap ideas grabbed from other companies that should have been standard years ago but at those prices, the buyers deserve more.
Kind of an ignorant comment you have there. The old Amarok was one of the tightest in the back, and this new Ranger is class leading. Disk brakes.. ok fine whine all you want, but very few utes have had rear disks. The largest centre screen on a ute is "cheap". Sorry, everything you just said is off with the fairies.
Can anybody tell me what i should expect to pay for a V6 Wildtrak with the premium upgrade plus onroad and government charges (Australia) as i get a different price from every dealership.
Wild track and ranger raptors were was made for better fuel economy consumptions but if you put V6 on a wildtrack or ranger raptor sales will drop cause V6 or V8 consume too much FEULs not good for the market.
All Ranger Raptors get a 3L v6 gas/petrol engine. The most sought after Raptor in North America is the F150 Raptor R (supercharged v8) and the Super Duty trucks only come in V8 (6.8L, 7.3L - both gas/petrol or 6.7L diesel). You don't buy a pickup truck for fuel economy.
The V6 was crap in all used LandRover, Citroen C6, Jaguar and remember the F-150 3.0 Desaster. This construction is too weak and the crankshaft bearings will come run out shortly 😢😢, This Ute will help sell new engines after sales 😂😂
Leather accented trim* with contrast Cyber Orange stitching and Wildtrak signature embroidery - 8-way power driver and front passenger seats - Heated front seats * Leather accented refers to seats with a combination of real and artificial leather. No leather in 2nd row middle seat.
GM and Ford (with help from Allison) collaborated on the 10 speed range. There were some issues early, but they seem to have most of them figured out. I have the Ford 10R140 and it is extremely smooth especially considering that it is handling 1,200 lb ft/1,630nm of torque. I can't comment on durability yet, since the pickup is a 2024.
The Ranger is intended for "rest of world" where the F150 is considered too large (really funny when looking at it from North America) for many places. Ford only manufactures the F series in North America and only in LHD. The market for the F-series outside of North America is extremely small when compared to annual sales in the US and Canada. In fact, the US alone accounts for quite a bit more than half of pickup trucks sold each year world wide. Ford is already struggling to catch up to the demand for the Super Duty trucks.
Thoroughly professional and informative review. Many thanks. Clearly this latest version of the Ranger is superb and competent. I suspect it will sell extremely well.
I’ve been waiting for a review of the finished product m Thanks for a comprehensive and honest review Pity they keep dilly dallying about the batch of arrivals in SA
Looks like plenty of leg room. Thinking of getting the Everest so watching all of these reviews. And cheers for being honest about the parts that aren't working so well.
Very good and honest reviews on the highs and lows of this vehicle. I'm not a fan of Fode but I must admit this particular vehicle has me sold especially listening to this guy about the interior and exterior features
The new Ford Ranger . . . Mmmmm . . . I'm not so sure I like it that much. It comes across as a little bit underwhelming for me. Perhaps they tried to do a little to much with the front lights? The F-Series in America looks a lot better with similar styled lights. Simplicity is key and I think the Ford Ranger looks a bit "over-cooked", especially at the front! Haven't seen it in the 'flesh' yet. And no paddle shifters??? That is a huge oversight! Sure, not everybody likes them, but then it should at-least have been an option as, it makes "over-writing" the auto-box such a breeze!!! (Only true 4x4 and motoring enthusiasts appreciate paddle shifters as manual transmissions are becoming ever more rare)! - Sometimes Auto-boxes just do things you don't want or even expect; and the quickest way to "correct" this is by flicking paddle shifters!!! It's such a boon to have them! I cannot believe Ford as omitted this, yet again!
@@xpusostomos can concur. The Philippine government designated Utes as utility vehicles and exempted it from excise tax. I convinced my sister who works in the construction industry to buy the bi-turbo Wildtrak back in 2020 which translated to around AUD $42,000.
@@xpusostomos yeah I cant explain fully either but consider it a small reprieve for all the crappy things this country has gone through from incompetent governance. I lived in Perth for years and in fact still want to immigrate back to Australia. If it wasn't for this pandemic that complicated things...
There have been reports that V6 have tailshaft and drive shaft vibrations and that Ford legendary service as usual fobbing customers away. It appears this issue is around undercooked R&D something you would have thought be resolved at the proving stage.
Moving the front wheels forward, has nothing to do with departure angle. It actually makes ramp-over angle worse. Shame there is not a bigger fuel tank for touring or the option of a second tank. Wheel travel looks to be limited, relying on diff-lock for wheel traction. Option of front diff-lock? Turning circle with longer wheel base?? Where do the aux. switches link to, engine bay?
Can you test this vehicle towing a caravan at say 2.3t to give us a better concept on how this vehicle works, does the transmission get hot, how thirsty is this vehicle, pros and cons because that’s what I’ll be looking at
Wonder how long the bolster on the drivers seat will last ,the center arm rest could do with being 3" higher and I see they have moved the start button
I love the look of it, I’m sure the front traction control remain on when diff lock engaged which is a plus amd possibly the only Ute that does. It’s a shame it misses out on font diff lock and sway bar disconnect which the USA bronco has. Same platform .
God I want one. But after my current Ranger decided to destroy its engine via an injector issue. Im so worried about small diesel again. My Volvo FH12 has over 1 mill kms and no injector issues. My 300,000km ranger apparently needs 2.5k worth of injectors randomly. I feel the Raptors V6 might be better in long range
@@rickywaye3836 Nope. The V6 diesel is the old “lion” engine developed by PSA and Ford and used in many Range Rovers. There is nothing from VW on the mechanical side in this new Rangrok.
So the seating is not genuine leather, what a huge disappointment that is. The drive towards rubbish materials instead of genuine cow skin is just wokery gone mad. Here in NZ,the hides from cattle kills at abbatoirs are virtuallly worthless, how sad.
@@xpusostomos In the Philippines Wildtrak 4x4 with 2.0 biturbo is offered at srp of P1,875,000 or AU$48k (at current exchange rate). So we are certainly getting short changed.
I Think it was sensible Ford not fitting paddle shifters, What would be the point of fitting paddle shifters to a Diesel dual cab with a 10 speed auto that's a lot of shifting, I believe you would use them once and realise your lost in amongst all the gears and put it back to auto. I have a late model Mustang with the 10 speed and find very little use for the paddle shifters on it.
Stop saying 'they asked the customer ' and 'idiot proof' , kinda insulting and patronising to the buyer both at once, truth is the actual idiots up to at least now are Ford engineers
What a ripper that new wild track is. Really great to see ford putting so many improvements and touches to this new ranger. Can't wait to see the new Everest when it arrives. Great video as always.
took the local top spec for a drive today and can't wait for my order of the wildtrak v6 with all the bells and whistles to come to Mumma. I wanted a good looking hard working work truck and that's what im getting!!!
So they listened to customers because they wanted “tough” and they delivered “tough”. How is so much plastic grill tough??? It’s not tough, it’s just design of the front made of plastic. If the front was steel, I would agree.
Iwould like to see what the front looks like when a Big buck roo bounces straight into it , but nah you won't see that on Australian conditions nor did he mention that ford are having a bit of trouble with the ten speed gearbox. This is just car salesmanship.
