O'Neill: "Apparently, the snake likes you." Daniel: "Really?" After losing two of his girlfriends to symbiote possession, Daniel's considering jumping ahead and just dating the symbiote directly.
Tbh I always appreciated that they had Sam and Daniel both having their own area of expertise and being out of their depth outside of that, rather than just having one of them being the "Smart One" and having them just know everything the plot needs them to know
@@CanidRose a good point honestly, Obviously Jack is basically the typical jock who kept up with his build in general but refined it back up when he got active with the shit they dealt with Teal'c was the strong quiet type who was the physically strongest one the whole time and at several point just fucking one handed dudes. And while Samantha is a nerd she's a military nerd and you don't get to be a high ranking military nerd by sitting on your ass. Daniel was probably more fit then some might of realized at first but, specially come change of hair styles you can tell he was starting to embrace the heavy active life style of being a quasi-soldier and a nerd.
I never thought he was stereotypical, he had a lot of conviction, was never intimidated, was unapologetically himself and sassy as frack. They tried real hard to play down Michael shanks toned, broad shouldered over 6ft build in the beginning to play up his nerdiness but it was always there. Standing him next to Christopher Judge helped.
And here I was enjoying how 10 years of Stargate was reason to watch something once a week with high expectations.... And you reminded about current situation that have just slipped my mind as just a bad joke.... It is sad that best there is now to offer for Sci-Fi is almost the Orville...
paristo Sorry - I had just finished watching the red letter guys summary of Picard and was in a mood. Thankfully I have Stargate on DVD and started rewatching it. Way better than the slop they are shoveling today. Babylon 5 too. Now there was some amazing, episodic television. Imagine what JMS could have done with the resources thrown at schlock like Picard. On second thought, scratch that - will just make you angry :(
@@paristo "almost the Orville" you can skip the almost honestly considering how bad picard and std are. sure the orville is whacky but it stays true to the star trek formular and even avoid falling into a lot of the pitfalls star trek has. that being transporters, telepathy and time travel, those three just dont make for good plots. But I would prefer something more along the lines of a new stargate. there is a much bigger sense of wonder in stargate, the tauri (us) being the newcommers to the galactic stage getting in over their head with all the human failings and virtues. star trek seems too polished for the most part, with some exceptions, ds9 comes to mind (lets not mention picard and dst wich are on the opposite spektrum and just edgy). also in stargate they actually keep a lot of the technology they salvage or allies they make, in star trek everything explodes by the end of the episode and is rarely mentioned again (especially in voyager).
Good eye. Many of these actors have multiple rolls. Like that 25 year old one on the child planet that was about to kill himself, also play one of the young recruits that was setup in the simulated situation at the base, that all youngster thought was real.
MYTHOLOGY IS ONE OF THE PRIMARY MOTIVATIONS FOR CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT!!!! MAYBE IT IS, WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH FILMING A PLANT?!?! EXACTLY!!! WHAT DOES THAT MEAN!?! I DON'T KNOW!!!
i will be BRUTALLY honest with you, dont care who you are or that this is the net, i am now going to bring out my inner keyboard warrior and give you shit about what i do not like about these vids the part where i see, the end of parts bit :( gurrr, just as i am getting into them too, dammit, i want more xD haha great vids dude, i am loving them :)
It's funny to watch the first episodes and how the military actors get everything wrong; sweeping each other with rifle and pistol barrels, fingers on triggers, waving guns around in emotional expressions, firing without aiming at the waist, basic operation.... But then they start to get better. I guess people were calling in or something.
Is it from the episode with the symbiotic relationship between the people in huts and the strange white flower tree things that emit high frequency tones?
