He didn't just get injured, won ipl, and got injured again.He scored 171* against Aus in Perth, He scored 4 t20 centuries, was MOS against WI, played well against NZ (remember his super over last ball chakka?) He then got the chance to open in tests,and went scoring exceptionally well, 176,127,212 aganist SA. He scored his first test overseas 100 in England. So these are the things which build him as a top batsmen which you need to mention. He has worked hard too on his batting and that's why became the top 2 best odi batsman

Dhoni coming into the dressing room again as mentor, just shows BCCI wanted someone who could settle those nerves, tension and insecurity among the players which is paramount in tough world cup games.

Rohit Sharma arguably deserved to be the Captain of India for T20.Thanks to Ricky Ponting for sensing potential in Rohit to be the Captain material, but BCCI always ruins it by making the person captain who is in great form and has more runs, that thinking needs to be changed and should not worry about the ego of the player who is in top form. Captaincy is different than individual performance, get it right BCCI !!!

India vs nee Zealand that last 2 balls sixes against southee..... 2013 west indies debut test series (2 centuries in 2 concetive match) 2017 test form.. And many more..

As a captain I have seen a number of times he has made selection errors. 1)2 spinners on a green pitch at lord's in 2018 2) Dropping rahane the vice captain in south africa. 3) Dropping someone like pujara in test matches. 4) I have lost count when Ashwin was dropped from various matches. 5) Leaving out a solid number 4 like Ambati raidu from the world cup squad was a blunder. Giving players a long rope at international level is extremely essential. Dada has advocated it numerous times. Citing Australia of the early 2000's isn't fair because they won 3 worldcups. A good leader accepts the responsibility of the losses and gives his team credit for the wins. Blaming the bowlers for CWC 2019 semi final was passing the buck. The fact is it were the batsman that had failed us. Sure there are different styles of leadership. If something doesn't work repeatedly, then there needs to be self reflection. Coming to the 2017 final. We can only imagine what kind of strategy was planned when the coach and the captain had so much friction.

Its quite a achievement of rohit that despite being injured for the 5 years straight he still comes close to kohli at different things like ODIs over the years test matches played at home If he remained fit in those crucial phases in 2014-17 he would had been the best batsman right now maybe even better than virat

Everytime someone mentions the cwc 2019 my heart just breaks down. India has lost many semi finals and finals after 2013 but the 2019 one was just different. India was dominating in that world cup but yet ONE MATCH and we were done. It was the same as the 2003 world cup... India was dominating but ONE MATCH broke eveyone's hearts

The main difference is simple between these two. Virat's style of captaincy works for test cricket Rohit's style of captaincy works for white ball cricket

So nobody is bothered about Virat's test record, which is leaps and bound ahead of Dhoni. I am not a big fan of Virat, but going by merit, Dhoni's test record outside India was below average. Dhoni was a great white ball cricketer and great white ball captain.

All things aside, the media outburst about an alleged Virat-Rohit rift is just laughable because of many reasons. Firstly, these are individuals are the best cricketers so they represent their country. All of them are different who can't be expected to get along. Secondly. they are all people who display the highest levels of professionalism, they won't let a personal dispute, even if one exists at all get in the way of the team's greater interests. And a captain is always going to win a coach-captain. Dada's team rebelled against Greg Chappell and Kumble wasn't on the same wavelength as Virat. They're both legends in their own right though.

I am Fan of Rohit by heart because of its ups & down journey, but for me Virat & Rohit both are legends. The Indian which is now under both their leadership is one of the best dominant team. From 2014 to 2019, Rohit was almost on the same footing as Virat (if not more) in terms runs scored inspite of Rohit's injuries. So i don't think there was a massive contrast in their peformances in this time period as explained in the video. That's the only area where i disagree with this video. amazing video though, as always!! Moreover in this time period, Rohit performed waay better as a captain for MI and Virat was quite poor as a captain for RCB inspite of his dream run in 2016. However whilst Rohit won IPL trophies, Virat has been an amazing captain in tests, which goes to show that Virat's style of captaincy is best suited for tests rather than limited overs.

Maybe in world cup events we Virat should let Rohit be the captain. Rohit has the captains luck.

Forget captaincy. You did not cover why kohli as test captain... Did not give opener role to rohit after murali vijay or dhawan was out of form in 2015... Only given opener after so much pressure from fans and after kl rahul is out of form in 2019. Half of rohit test career was wasted at lower order for 6 years.

Well, the 2019 WC was played in less than ideal conditions, and moreover, similar to those conditions which the Kiwis have at their home. So, I don't blame our cricketers for our loss. They just had a bad day. Our batsmen don't know how to handle swing properly and that came to bite them at the worst possible time.

I seriously believe after 2019 rohit deserved to be captain in t20. That was the best time. Virat was in form. Rohit was in form and dependable in t20. No clashes would have happened as roles would have been separate. And workload of virat was too much. Better than power struggle, division of power would have been better. Don't know why BCCI didn't do it. Maybe fear of having problems with virat like 21 but instead it lead Indian cricket divided.

Virat is once in generation player and even Rohit isn't close to him in terms of runs and hunger he shows. He will go down as best Test captain ever. And he is unlucky in toss too, and in longer format you have enough time and chances to cover up that in shorter formtas especially in T20s it's hard like you loose a Toss and dew settles in you are done that's what pulls him back and also Rohit is overall better captain in shorter formats (that doesn't mean Virat is bad captain by any way) Rohit has that gut instinct and longer run to players make them perform well at crunch situations. Just hoping going forward they help each other and bring WCs to home (there are 3 in 3 yrs)
