Rick killing Shane changed him.. ironically closer to who Shane was trying to be and what he wanted Rick to be. The Ricktatorship starts now.

About the Lori scene this is my take on the subject based on the scene alone and also one interview Sarah Wayne Callies (Lori’s actress) did way back when S2 ended. Lori isn’t actually mad at Rick when Rick says he killed Shane she’s kinda shocked and you know kinda sad after all Shane did matter to her and to Rick as well when Rick says he wanted to kill Shane she’s scared that he may be turning into the new Shane (and that final scene with the beginning of the Ricktatorship didn’t help it either) But what really destroys her is to learn that Carl was the one to put him down she’s blaming both herself and Rick for not being able to protect Carl from the horrors of this new world we can clearly see how much Carl is changing and now he had to kill someone who meant a lot to him at that moment she’s feeling so many things and she can’t process it she doesn’t want anyone touching her or talking to her she just need a moment to herself so she can take a breath and process everything. You can see it all in the facial and corporal expressions of Lori you can see she’s still close to Rick and absorbing all the information that Rick is giving to her I killed him/ I wanted to kill him however that bigger reaction only happens after Rick says Carl put him down you can see that’s when she goes away and don’t want Rick to touch her she wasn’t scared or angry at him she just needed a moment to take a breath and process everything.

​The actress that played Lori said, Lori realized at that moment she had stronger feelings for Shane so it was not about Carl only as some would like it to be. So yeah, she was mad Rick killed her lover. Which means she told Rick in the hopes of him going after Shane, thinking Shane would ‘deal’ with Rick. Lori didn’t understand her husband at all. She mistook his quiet strength & gentleness as weakness & mistook Shane’s misogyny & obsession for strength. She liked that Shane was selfish and put her first. Too bad for her, the one who was the real leader & had the real strength because he was not selfish, was her husband. Lori was selfish so she preferred the selfish man. The true natural born leader survived. Rick & Lori were just not compatible. It was clear from the 1st episode - their marriage was in trouble. Here it got completely broken.

The reason why telling everyone that they are all infected matters is because if one of them died (non-walker related), they need to know that they have to be taken care of properly. Otherwise, they could have let them unknowingly turn into a walker and kill more people.

The loss of the farm was really sad. They could have stayed there indefinitely. Lori pulling away from Rick the way she did made me dislike her even more then I all ready did. Rick had to defend himself and Carl saved Rick. The "Ricktatorship" speech Rick gave the group is one of best scenes in the entire series.

I totally agree. Lori warned Rick in a very suspect way that Shane was a problem. She never watched Carl so he was always where he shouldn't be. Plus he never listened to them anyway. I guess punishment in the apocalypse is frowned on. Everyone knowing they were infected would have done nothing but have them obsessing over it all day every day. It's not like one of them was all of a sudden going to be knowledgeable enough to create a cure themselves. Also Rick didn't know for sure until that night. So does he created a panic over something he doesn't know if true or not? Those are hard decisions.

I can’t wait for next season you’re gonna love it. Poor Andrea she just got left and forgotten about by everyone. Shout out to Hershel this man went up against the entire herd with a shotgun he got locked in. As someone else said knowing that everyone comes back no matter how you die is really important, when Beth cut her wrist if she had died they wouldn’t have known she could come back and then she could have killed someone else. The biggest loss this episode was dales RV that is like losing Dale all over again

Shane died but still lives for the rest of the show, being the first to adapt means that everyone else who does follows them in a way, Shane’s always gonna be the shadow of Rick. The man who he could have or will become

Rick coming into his real form at the end of this season is such a highlight of the show. 18 episodes of you wanting Rick to stand up for himself and take charge. And it culminates in him killing Shane and calling everyone’s bluff and beginning the Ricktatorship

Gotta love Herschels infinite ammo shotgun at the farm 😂 fr though Ricks speech at the end of this episode is one of my favorite scenes from the whole show. Andrew Lincolns emotional acting is top teir 👌

Lori and Rick really let Carl just do whatever😭😭😭

It changes a lot being in the dark that you can turn without being bit. If you didn't know and you saw a friend die from a heart attack or something, you'd be in danger and not know it. Rick not telling them important information endangers them. He's wrong for not sharing it. It only helps, it doesn't hurt. It's info. "Knowledge reign supreme over nearly everyone" - KRS-One.

I will never understand how Jimmy got his self ate up like that when all he had to do was drive up, wait till they hopped on, and then drive off.

The mysterious samurai character…YOU ARE IN FOR A TREAT!!! 🔥🤌 Also I’ll say T-Dog really gets to shine a lot more in S3. He’s one of my favorite under-appreciated characters.

Rick killing shane changes rick so much its crazy and it also changes the audience's prospective of the way the world is in this universe. Its killed or be killed and rick quickly realizes that after killing shane and so does the audience. As u grow with rick u will always 100% of the time support his ideas even if they are inhumane or brutal like shanes ideas. The awesome part about this show is that the audience grows with rick which makes twd one of my favorite shows

I guess an argument one can make against Rick keeping that info a secret is that - if someone died at the house, like if Beth slit her wrist for eg, and bled to death before Maggie got to her, they wouldn't know to destroy her brain because she wasn't bitten, which would be dangerous for anyone around to her.

Everyone being infected is a HUUUUGE change to how they live in this world. Imagine someone falling and breaking their neck and dying only to become a walker. Or someone having a heart attack in the night and turning…that means suddenly someone you thought was fine the night before is a walker and could surprise and bite people. It’s crazy!

If your loved one dies of natural causes and you have no idea they are going to "turn", then your guard is down. Like Rick turning his back on Shane after killing him. It was actually careless because he was told by Jenner. If he had finished the job then Carl would not have had to do it.

It changes the dynamic a little because even if someone ISN'T bit but they die, for whatever reason, they have to be willing to end them before they change and become a threat to the rest of the group. You'll see in future eps but it does add a new dynamic. 22:13

I already watched this show a dozen times, but I enjoy watching 1st time reactors. I can tell you're one of the best. Keep up with the good work!

Rip Shane, Dale, Sophia, Otis, Patricia, Jimmy, Randall, Dave and Tony, Rest in Peace Jewel Wilson 1914-2017, she was the mother of Scott Wilson who played Hershel Greene, her picture could been seen in season 2 episodes 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10 and 11, she died on March 6 2017 she was 102 years 22:37 Rest In Peace Moses J Moseley 1990-2022, he played one of the chained up walker, on January 16 2022 he was found dead in his car with a gunshot wound in Stockbridge Georgia, he was 31 years old

I feel like I say this on almost every reaction to this episode, since most react the same way you did. LOL! I love Rick, BUT...he was wrong not to tell them they were all infected and I don't blame them for being angry about that particular point. It was a huge shock, on top of all the other shocks they'd been through in the last 48 hours. I'm sure someone has already pointed this out, but Rick not telling them put everyone in danger. If Beth had succeeded in killing herself, for example, they wouldn't have expected her to turn because Rick wasn't there to warn them. She could have turned and killed one or more of them while he was away. That's one of the things I love most about this show. Rick's the lead character, and he's doing his best in an impossible situation, but he's not perfect and he does mess up. Just like any other human being. Really looking forward to (re)watching Season 3 with you!

Welcome to the Ricktatorship! I tried to like Lori, but her reaction to Rick telling her he killed Shane was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. The group except for Hershel and Daryl and I guess T-dog were just scared and panicking, but you wait they're going learn or not. Or will they? 👀 And T-dog ain't so bad. This is my favorite season tbh. I love the farm, the characters here at the farm, and everything that happens here. I said many episodes back when Lori was talking to Rick and basically telling him Shanes a problem and he may have to kill him. Rick kills Shane cuz Shane wouldve killed him and Carl got out cuz once again she wasnt watching him, but then gets mad at Rick when he needed comfort. Damn thats just horrible. I love the ending with the reveal about how you turn no matter what and what Rick did. Looking forward to whats next in Season 3.

The actress that played Lori has said that Lori was not mad at Rick for killing Shane, she was mad that Carl put walker Shane down. If you watch Lori's body language when Rick tells her that he killed Shane she doesnt show any anger towards him, she looks shocked and like she is processing what he is saying. The angry outburst isnt until he tells her Carl put him down and I think her anger is at both of them not just Rick and she just needs time to deal with it all. I dont think it translated well since everyone thinks she is mad about Rick killing Shane, but idk I think the actress playing her has a better feel of her character then the viewers.

The way Lori acted towards Rick in this episode made her irredeemable to me. I just hated her and never could feel sorry for her again. This season is when I started to love Daryl. Great reaction.

I got so annoyed at everyone turning on Rick like that! He’s done nothing but try and do the best thing for all of them, and all they have done is complain about it! He definitely should have told them about everyone carrying the virus…especially with a couple of older gents around (Dale & Hershel) who could have a heart attack or something like that and die in their sleep and none would have known they would come back as a walker! But everything else they can 🖕🏼😅

IMO this episode is a highly debated episode. I've always believed that Lori was only angry with Carl putting Shane down. Ricktatorship has arrived

Rick keeping the secret was wrong. What if Beth killed herself and Maggie and Lori broke the bathroom door because they thought she was alive in there, but she was a walker. Now you have your pregnant wife in a bathroom with a walker because you didn’t tell everyone.

Not sure why you are so angry that everybody is not just following Rick without question as if they are sheep. They are in a state of panic after being attacked by a herd of walkers. NOBODY has all the answers. Why should they think he does? This confrontation was needed so they could all agree on how to go from here.

Great reaction. I always had a love/hate feeling about this episode, but I was against Lori's behaviour as Rick is pouring out his heart to her and needs her support, love and reassurance, we see Lori push Rick away from her, she didn't want him to touch her because she was shocked and sickened that Carl was there and put Shane down, the man who kept them safe and who was like an Uncle to him, knowing him from birth or like a second father when they thought Rick was dead, but will Rick interpret that differently as she really did love Shane then? I remember thinking, but when you were whispering behind him in his ear Lori a few episodes back like a devil on his shoulder asking him if he'd kill for those he loved and that Shane was dangerous and he needed to be stopped, like you were dropping a hint for Rick to kill him, NOW YOU ACT LIKE THIS. Poor Rick he cannot win or catch a break it seems - now they've escaped with their lives and he confesses what Dr. Jenner at the CDC told him that we all have this disease/virus/whatever it is, then we see Carol making a fuss to Daryl that he cannot be trusted and I love that Daryl says something along the lines of "he's done alright by me" and most of the group are against him and want to scatter in the middle of the night with no plan going forward and he's trying to say to everyone it's a bad idea, we stick together for the night and will move on in the morning, then Rick just let's rip because he's stressed and tells them to GO and see if they can do any better and no one moves, I remember liking that he puts his foot down, but then when he raised his voice and angrily proclaims "...this is NOT a democracy anymore...", I was like "Errr Rick, I'm not sure I'm liking the sound of that. I remember all the fandom said, this is the beginning of "RICK-TATORSHIP". Andrea is alive, but saved by a [?] sword wielding individual - no spoilers from me, but I cannot wait to see in the upcoming episodes what you think of this mystery person - quickly catching up to you!😉
