Have you ever met a ghost? What about a Ghost Distillery? It's Halloween so why not indulge in a ghost story. Today I want to tell you about the story of the Imperial Single Malt Scotch Distillery, perhaps the most ill timed and unlucky Scotch distillery that ever existed. It's a fascinating history fraught with closures and Imperial just missing its moment to shine. When it came, it was too late and Imperial had been knocked down, laid to waste, only haunting us in bottles like this one as a ghost distillery bottling. This Imperial 1998 22 year old Single Malt Scotch Whisky was bottled by the Independent Bottler "Single Malts of Scotland" for what is most likely Canada's best whisky shop, the Kensington Wine Market in Calgary, Alberta.
