It seems to me that it's just his cymbals that are electronic, maybe it's related to playing in the presence of a symphony orchestra.

@@pierrejeannin2733 Not only cymbals, all the drums have electronic mesh heads on them. Zak has been playing E drums with the Who since at least 2018.

Not Zak's fault, but the drums sound shockingly weak and overall they sound unrehearsed. As a fan who has seen many gigs since 1971, I considered buying a ticket for this tour but I'm relieved I didn't.

@@StereoAnthony It looks like he's putting some effort into it, so I wondered if how hard he hits them makes much difference?

@@ViscountVile like any VST, it certainly can make a difference depending on how he set up the software. There was a picture sent around the Edrum groups around that time showing Zak with his Edrums and triggering Superior Drummer 3 software, with a second laptop at the ready incase anything were to happen to the first. I tried to find the picture, but no luck.

some of the older singers can still do it well - others lost it years ago - some changed a lot in just a few years - Led Zep fans say the change in Plant's vocals from the late 60's to just the mid 70's was huge ..

Some them some months ago and Roger still sounded great. You mentioned McCartney losing his voice always was a Jethro Tull fan and saw a clip of aqualung and dang Ian can barely get the words out of his mouth
