The Winds of Winter - Preview Chapter - Alayne I 

Sansa feels like a Cersei done right. A queen regent who can manipulate the heir apparent gracefully. Definitely better than the show Sansa who gets pointless compliments because 'she's smart.'

This is one of the best chapters in the series. Sansas playing everyone and it’s so enjoyable to watch

Out of all the POV characters, Sansa ranks high amongst the ones I am anxiously waiting to read again once Winds gets released.

I really like the direction book Sansa is going. She's becoming so smart.

I think GRRM forgot Miranda already asked how big Littlefingers Littlefinger is in Sansa’s last Feast of Crow chapter. I only caught it cause I listened to them back to back

Book Sansa's plot in the Vale is so intriguing.

This was one of my favorite sample chapters and gods I love it!! I'm absolutely in love with Alayne's character. I can't wait to finally read TWOW I need to see more of this version of Sansa!!!!!

The Vale is like another world compared to the rest of Westeros. They are still having feasts and tourneys while the Riverlands and Crownlands right next door have been scoured by fire and death and hunger. I have a feeling this dream will come to an end when reality comes crashing down during the tourney most likely. If you believe some theories anyway but it will probably be somewhat like the show and have the armies of the Vale taking back Winterfell bringing Sansa home.

Myranda surely engineered the meeting between Alayne, allegedly with a Gulltown mother, and someone actually from Gulltown... it will be very bitter for Myranda if she susses out the deception around Sansa but the eventual revelation of her identity only makes the Vale rise for her.

Reading sansa's preview chapter is genuinly really, really disturbing for a variety of reasons, in a way that none of the other stark childrens temptation dangers does. it might be because of the fact that the fact that the dangerous mentor is a creepy, creepy pedophile, which makes the danger feel so, so much more real because of its mundanity compared to Bran's danger of ending up like Euron Greyjoy, or Arya's temptation to embrace becoming an assassin, Or rickon just becoming completely feral. It might be because Sansa has absolutely no agency at this point in time(unlike Bean and Arya at this point), being at the stage that arya was back in clash of kings, a leaf being thrown about by the wind, at the mercy of greater powers. Or it might be because of the fact that the temptation of becoming the next littlefinger is so, SO much more attractive than the possible dark futures of Bran, Arya and Rickon. just like the rest of her siblings, Sansa HAS to learn the lessons that her mentor has to teach, which in this case is Littlefinger has to teach her, along with all the lessons she learned in King's Landing. The danger of course, is the same as all the stark children. Losing that humanity that they all learned from Eddard Stark. the man who thaught them to be compassionate, just, honorable. In other words, to forget what it is to be a Stark. In Sansa's case though, this danger is so, so much more attractive than it is for her siblings. because in the position she is in, its so, so easy and attractive to just abandon all of that for the sake of survival, to just become a cold, calculating person who cares nothing for anyone else. in the earlier books, Sansa mused that she would be a different queen than Cercei. she would be a queen who would be genuinly loved by her people. Littlefinger, in a very deliberate way is doing all he can to destroy that tiny rest of idealism. He wants to remove every last trace of Starkness from her to make her into what he would consider the "Perfect" Player. the kind of person who only does what is best for them personally, but always does it in a pragmatic, usefull manner. That is very much a deliberate plan on his part, due to his irrational hatred for house stark, just as Balon Greyjoy decided to attack the north for no other reason than his hatred for Eddard in particularily for being Roberts right hand as he took the islands with sword and fire. If there was one thing about littlefinger the show got right, it was the idea that Littlefinger would be eager to see the entire world burn so long as he got what he wanted out of it. Littlefinger orchestrated the entirety of the war of five kings through a series of speed chess, improvising a lot on the spot, not because he had some grand ambition in mind like varys, but solely to destroy the very idea of the house of Brandon Stark, while climbing as high as he possibly can. That he gets to seat a Stark Queen who he molds to follow HIS ideas is only the topping of that cake. In her unwilling apprenticeship under Littlefinger, Sansa's meta journey is the same as her other children. Balancing what makes her Sansa Stark, Daughter of Eddard Stark Lord of Winterfell, and the lessons she's learned, and has to learn before she hammers the Vale to her cause to play that decisive role in taking back her home. The question is of course, how much of that former belief in being a good person when the going gets tough, will she retain when all is said and done?

I want you to know your altering voices are amazing 👍. An instant classic.

Its just so sad when Sansa mentions Jeyne Poole...

I think all the lords declarants are into Sansa's real identity, or at least suspect it, and they are all conspiring against Littlefinger. They let him believe that he is gaining one up on them, when in reality it's all the opposite. I think Myranda's friendship is indeed false; she may like sansa alright, but its all just a part of a bigger plan to see if she can fetch Sansa's real identity. Like for example, why would she casually say that fact about Jon being Lord Commander of the Kingsguard if it wasnt to catch Sansa in a lie? (which worked actually). And I also think that the reason Harry suddendly changed his way of treating Sansa is because Anya told him who she really is, and informed him of their plan against LF, which he is now actively contributing to. It would be interesting to see Litllefinger being tricked for once; a role change.

It's been forever since I haven't read Sansa's chapters. It feels like she has become a whole different person, like the combination of Baelish and Cersei. Her Alayne identity is strong, which makes sense since actors/actresses also struggle with different personalities when they play a character which leads them into suffering from a some form of dementia. I sure hope this won't make her forget her true identity, she's Sansa Stark of Winterfell, the daughter of Eddard Stark and Catelyn Tully. She will become The Queen In The North.

Honestly this seems like a creepy turn for him to take with Sansa. With her knowing about LF's plans for Harry, she's now actively fattening the sacrificial lamb, so to speak. Sure, she is doing it out of a perceived threat to her survival, and sure she's been psychologically damaged beyond repair, but it's still a really dark turn for a character who has always had the power to save herself with just a single honest word to the right noble lord.

Yeah, its an interesting descision of George to give Sansa less agency, stakes, powers, skills, and adventure than either Arya or Bran. No wonder shes less popular. I think George wishes to do at least one POV that is a very Pride and Predjudice Period Drama with no magic. Previously it was Catelyn, now it's Sansa. Some people like it, but I'm not amazingly into it tbh.

Really what else would she be like? Catelyn was snobbish, mean and not nearly as smart as she thought she was.

i can totally see Sansa surpass Littlefinger. I can see him slowly turn into her simp and just imagine if she learns to warg... One must not forget that her wolf is dead and that has significance - I think Lady's death is symbolic that she becomes an evil character - maybe Euron's queen.

I honestly don't see how most people believe Sansa is becoming a strong and wise woman. When the story started, she looked down her nose on her own siblings, especially Jon, she saw what an ass Joffrey was, ordering a boy killed, threatening her own sister but she still swooned over him, even when her dire wolf got killed because of him. Over the course of the story she never wonders about what happened to Arya, anytime she thinks of Arya, it is about how annoying her sister was. She knows Rob is dead since he was a king when he died, she is proud to be his sister. As far as she knows Bran and Rickon are dead too, but she never has fond memories or thoughts about them. She only thought fleetingly about Jon because of the news he was elected Lord Commander, not because she cared about him. Littlefinger used her in his plot to kill Joffrey, though I still think the intended victim was actually Tyrion and now she naively thinks he saved her. She knows that it's unsafe to feed so many drugs to Sweet Robin, but doesn't protest or try to protect him, not even because he is one of the only surviving family members left to her. She is even aware that Littlefinger's plot is to wed her to Harry so they rule the Vail when Robin inevitably dies. Nope, she is a willing participant in the Harry the Heir plot, and even when he proves to be an uncouth asshole, she still sighs about his good looks and wants him. Like she didn't learn anything from her betrothal to Joffrey. She justifies it because she would ascend the ladder, just like she justified Joffrey's behavior because she wanted to become queen. She is still the superficial girl we met in the early GOT chapters. She cares about nobody but herself. She knows what Littlefinger wants her to know, but she doesn't know Jayne is posing as Arya and married Ramsay Bolton. She is an airheaded puppet with good manners, doing Littlefinger's bidding until she is no longer useful to him.

Maybe its me but i realy dislike Sansa. She isnt as bad as show Sansa but i still dislike her. Mostly because she doesnt have any initiative, shes essentialy a camera angle for the story of kingslanding and vale is seen through
