A preview chapter from George RR Martin's upcoming "The Winds of Winter."

I am in no sense a professional reader, voice actor, or what have you. I began this audiobook project some years ago when some friends of mine jokingly said they'd read A Song of Ice and Fire (my favorite fantasy series) if I personally recorded the whole series in audiobook form and sent it to them. Having now made my way almost through the first two books in the series, I decided to join the small community of people who post their own amateur audibook readings to youtube, and share my efforts.
I have no intention of profiting off of the work that is copyrighted to George RR Martin. This upload is a tribute to a series I deeply love, and I strongly encourage you to purchase these books. You won't regret it.
Also I should give full credit to my cat, Claudio, for the frequent background meows and purring sounds you hear throughout.

31:58 I like how Stannis doesn't get offended any time Theon demands to be called Theon and even relents even though any other ruler would feel insulted by the insolence of being spoken back to not only by someone less than them but also by a disgraced prisoner such as Theon. I take this as Stannis respecting the strength of character Theon would need to have in order to be making ANY demands in the position he's in.

@@beesmitty3435actually it's not just the content. He wrote the previous books in three or four years each. He requires his home, in solitude to write the novels. He cannot write anywhere like a hotel room or in travelling in a plane like some others could. ADWD was released in 2011, the year the show started to air. After that he was frequently on travel as an invitee to one program to another which he gets tempted to accept or gets busy with the discussions with the writers regarding the show's writing and others. This also is another reason for the delay of TWOW.

It's taking so long because George doesn't write a book; he borderline writes multiple versions of a book before deciding which one reads better. (Mild exaggeration, but he apparently does that for multiple chapters)

Man in the beginning of this journey y’all I all but HATED Theon for his amazingly inconsiderate and cocky ways (and only felt for him bcuz obviously he’s been a hostage since he was a lil kid). But now, he might be one of my favorite characters. He’s got so much depth. And even though he killed those kids, his perseverance and obvious longing of the heart to seek and do right and be accepted is touching.

Stannis has to lose. He has no place in prophecy. He isn't Azor Ahai, the realm doesn't want him as king, he has an unrealistic amount of campaigning before him to conquer King's Landing, Aegon has conqured more land and acquired more troops in lesser time, and this is all before Daenerys' three dragons.

It is my favorite also. I love every thought and conversation. There are many clues hidden within the dialogue. Stannis is great, so is Theon. Theon is a smart politician as well after being humbled. He misses nothing, catches everything and has a great mind for martial arts.

@@Darius-_ Stubborn and inflexible he may have been in CoK but I assure you in WoW he is a different man.Lord Snow really had an impact on him.Pragmatism is needed to win the war,you cant follow the law and expect others to do the same.He learned the lesson Eddard Stark could not.Just because you are honorable(Ned) or Dutiful(Stannis) that doesnt mean people will be the same.They will cheat and lie and try to win the game in whatever way they can.Stannis understands this now,that is why he has the Northern Lords following him,that is why he will forgive Lord Manderly after he switches sides during the batte of ice.Stannis is a different man. Now on to the other point:What 2 armies? he faces the Freys which will be dealt with easily and Ramsay wich the highest number of men he could have is a few hundred,Theon says it himself,Roose is a cautious man he wont send his full strength to greet Stannis,he will stay in his castle like the rat he is.The calm observant Lord of the dreadford has an idiotic psychotic son.And Ramsay will be his undoing.

I couldn’t tell you what a Greek accent sounds like, but I’ve watched enough cartoons to do a very VERY broad version of an Italian accent.

I don't believe Theon is going to die just yet. He's been given his Ironborn identity, and his power back. To do what? I don't think it's just to die. I think something is going to happen; some kind of weirwood intervention to prevent Theon's execution. Bran might have something to do with it.

He’d meet his end and complete his character arc. I could see the chapter being called “Theon Greyjoy” to symbolize that. He gets to die as Theon Greyjoy after breaking free of his torture and abuse and helping in his own way to cause the Bolton’s downfall
