Jarvis having an encyclopedic knowledge of Pokémon and Jordan just being a casual Pokémon enjoyer is literally so real. It reminds me of me and my friends where we will all enjoy something and then I just take it way too far and become so hyper fixated on it for so long and know way too much about it

Yeah, the Rick & Morty voices are pretty spot on. Maybe the Rick is a tiny bit less raspy but I fully agree like 99% of people won't notice. Voice actors in cartoons are pretty talented people. Like, did you know, in the original Lion King, Jeremy Irons only sings about two thirds of Be Prepared and the final verse is done by voice actor Jim Cummings because Jeremy Irons was experiencing vocal problems.

that fake restaurant prank was done in London sometime last year too, it was in a couple's garden I believe. So either this one was inspired by that or its been a thing for a while and people have been doing 'fake restaurants' that really seem like staged videos honestly, like they got their friends around and pretended they were strangers signing up for this dining experience. It just seems like there's so many hoops to jump through and no stories of people getting really pissed off that they've been fleeced.

I have one of those rugs with a fake hole in it and my cats originally wouldn't walk over it and occasionally would try to drop their toys into the "hole". Now they lay in the center of it since they know they can't fall

I definitely feel that bit from the beginning about the cultural reach of the US. As a Canadian it's so hard to escape the American news cycle and culture exporting. It's to the point where I feel both disconnected from Canadian culture and am watching as American culture is imported in its place.

When I visited Wisconsin, I saw a Sandhill Crane for the first time, but I did not know that birds could look like that. I froze because I thought it was a freaking dinosaur. When I asked my friends what they were, they did a doubletake because they couldn't fathom that I didn't know what a crane looked like. Meanwhile, I thought Jurassic Park had a breach and that I was about to die.

I paused the podcast when Jordan said, “Howdy” because it felt so out of character and i’m glad that it was immediately addressed 😂

I watched a show called The Worst Witch. It's about a girl who is magic but doesn't know she is magic, and she ends up going to a magic school to learn magic. In like, season 2, one of the main trio's actor left, and they just straight up replaced her. "Oops, a spell went wrong over the holidays, and now I'm stuck like this!". AND THEN For the last season, THEY DID THE SAME THING for the MAIN CHARACTER!!! Very few people cared. It was fantastic. The Rick and Morty voice "controversy" is an extremely online phenomenon. The average audience member just wants to watch a funny show.
