I really liked the design of the final boss from the glimpse early on in the video, but up close he's rather uninspired

I actually find the "Depends what game difficutly" ending order a bit strange. In the Easy difficulty, the protagonist Simon defeat Hell and return back to land of the living at the end of WW1 so I guess it a "Good Ending", meanwhile in Normal and Hard difficulty, feel more like a downer ending where Simon end up as a Demon

I HIGHLY reccomend Cold War, it was 2005 Splinter Cell rip off and you play as american journalist in the 80s soviet union and it only goes more ridiculous as it goes.

When people say the enemies are spongy, they are playing the game wrong. Combos are guaranteed kills on humanoid enemies, like stab + kick with the bayonet, or kick + shoot with the shotgun, or punch + spray with an SMG. The game is all about combos and chaining combos. Finding artifacts will give you OP abilities for high combo chains and you can become a force of nature. Idk if the game explains it well tho xD its my favorite diamond in the rough game

American mercs in ww1 in tje british and french armies are very much a thing. Necrovision was a great game... i loved singularity also the fanbase is more scattered than not there.

This feels like a weird cross between a Clive Barker game and Rise of the Triad

Again from the last video's comment, this game bears reminiscence to Wolfenstein 2009 but even more confusing, buggier all while set in WWI instead of WW2

The one liners are the scotch tape holding the game together.

don't know man, despite all the jank and the everything and the kitchen sink mentality in the game design, I really love this game to me it's like a proper Painkiller sequel without being a Painkiller sequel (uses the same engine, which is why you got stuck on corpses, since dead enemies still have those mid 2000s physics) I enjoyed the level and enemy variety, all the weapons, the melee system come to think of it, I think you underestimated the usefulness of the melee, Mandalore actually covered this game and also said that melee has just as much of a focus as shooting, you need to combine the 2, knock enemies down with melee, throw a grenade on them or get easy headshots while they are down the weird texts (Brute Willis etc) is for the combo system, where meleeing multiple times in a row gives bonus damage as well as combining melee and shooting, there's a reason you get swords, shovels and other stuff you can dual wield with throwables or 1 handed guns

WW1 horror games, let alone WW1 games in general, seems like an untapped genre. The idea of new machines made for war seemingly supernatural in nature against people still using fucking swords and bayonets is interesting, and I feel as if some of that idea, to an extent, is executed in NecroVision literally and figuratively. Just wish it was in a better game lmao. (Also, love your stuff dude. Always excited to see your new content in my feed.)

boiling point road to hell basically invented the whole open world fps rpg genre back in 2005 and the whole map and every building has fully explorable interiors with no loading screens and people wanna give credit to witcher 3 for that wich has bothered me for years, but if u wanna run it on any modern pc using windows 10 good luck because it just doesn’t

it's funny you said this game must've been rushed out to release because I was actually surprised to hear it came out in 2009. I remember reading news about it coming out years prior, and then nothing. the only reason why I was remotely interested in it is because it was made on Painkiller's engine, and in part by its former devs. nowadays Necrovision is mostly remembered among Painkiller fans who port the older game into its engine to add the magical powers, graphical effects and scoring system onto Painkiller. not a fan of these mods myself, they only break the feeling of the game in my opinion

Ironically it would have made more sense for the Yank protagonist to be enlisted into the French Army: if I recall correctly, the American Expeditionary Force in WW1 was under French command.
