I must admit, once the singing started, I burst out laughing. I'm sure anyone who has ever created any sort of content has looked back at some of their early stuff and cringed. This LMNOP crowd take that to a new level. This looks like they're creating a cringefest on purpose.
"The right to disassociate with drag queens." My brain immediately went to: going to the club, getting sensory overload, and having a drag queen sit with you to make sure you're okay.
Even if you interpret this as they meant it - "stop associating with drag queens" - it's still weird. Not all drag queens are gay for one thing. And it also conjures up a mental image of a huge army of drag queens all dressed up, just hanging around with straight men, doing nothing "worse" than having a few drinks or watching football in a companionable sort of way. Seems rather sweet and harmless to me.
This ad is like one of those weird fever dreams you have where you're not _fully_ asleep so you get little bits of dream-brain nonsense mixed in with the sensation that you're drowning in blankets.
I love the "We can't have gender neutral bathrooms! What will we tell the children?!?" Argument. "Hey kids, you know how we all use the same bathroom at home? Yeah. Just like that."
I doubt kids would even question it- if anything, they're more likely to ask why everyone uses the same bathroom at home, but at school boys and girls have to use different ones.
@@bronztrooper9440 Not to mention that younger kids will go into the "wrong" gender segregated bathroom sometimes if boys are out with just with their Mum or girls are out with just their Dad
pretty much. I was 12 and the school completely re-did one of their bathrooms to be for everyone. Honestly it was the most popular one because all the cubicles had doors that actually gave you privacy-- it was a pretty terrible school so not having to worry about people looking in at you was a great relief for everyone. No one thought it was weird. Everybody was good with the change, and that was back in 2012.
@@bronztrooper9440 I always wanted to know the answer to that question and nobody ever came with a satisfactory explanation (to me). Except for the use of mictory for men (which is not always present and could be separated) why men/women bathrooms???
The “make the family great again” came from the fact that they’re tearing their own families apart with their bigotry and are entirely self unaware about it
Families were Great when tne father was a disciplinarian who terrorized the kids and everyone was forcibly conditioned to conform to narrow norms. They called it freedom, and probably godliness.
I agree with “Make a family great.” Make the family sweet and inclusive to everyone, be friendly and treat everyone with love and respect they deserve. That’s what a great family is. Not this homophobic BS.
"Make the family great again" shouted those that disown, shame, harm, abuse their kids for being who they are without hurting anyone. What a great message indeed. At least now I know why they are against abortions. Why would you need abortions when you see your children as disposable objects that you can destroy and throw away when they do something you don't "agree with"?
2 theories I have on the editing: 1. They are so ordinary they don't know how to use video editing software because (insert gender norm of the 1950s US here) 2. They hired an outside editor who was so confused and wanted to undermine the project, but also needed to get paid Either way, I find it hilarious. Just perfectly highlights the state of the US right now
I remember getting a homophobic ad on one of YOUR VIDEOS, then the next video I watched had a buzzfeed type quiz thing saying “Are You Gay? Take this quiz to find out!” So clearly, my advertisement spy team is failing miserably.
@@Kai_The_Kai I'm exactly as you are: AFAB, genderfluid, even changed my sex to "X" on my birth certificate and license as it is recognized in New York. I would've absolutely cracked up if I got an estrogen ad, especially when I'm already technically on it as I take birth control every day so I can skip my periods for months. If I had gotten a transphobic one though, I would've been so angry. I'm honestly glad I pay for premium because I'd be giving up on this site if I had to watch ads.
I'll never get it. I'm straight. Why would I care what non-straight people do? As long as they aren't forcing me to watch hardcore gay porn, it doesn't affect me at all. I mean, I guess they could sexually assault me, but straight people can do that too, that's not a reason to be anti-gay, that's a reason to be anti-sexual assault.

Like I swear straight people will hear that LGBTQ inclusivity is being taught in schools and assume kids are being brainwashed into being gay. NO, they're being taught LGBTQ+ people EXIST, and to be kind and accepting toward them because they're inevitably gonna come across them, or may turn out to be a part of the community themselves. Considering how much bullying there is in school's towards our community, that education is necessary. And last time I checked, kids are allowed to know straight people exist, they're allowed to know their parents are married, and allowed to watch disney movies with heterosexual couples who kiss and get married, and they know that people assigned female at birth can be girls and people assigned male can be boys. They know straight and cis people exist, so why on earth should they not also know LGBTQ+ people exist? There's literally zero explanation for why LGBTQ+ inclusivity should not be taught in school other than literal h0m0ph0bia/transph0bia. Why do I feel like this "movement" literally just consists of this man and a few of his family members who meet every week in his basement to crap on LGBT people. Like this can't be real its so bad
This is what baffles me the most about homophobes: how can you hate something and at the same time want to talk about it constantly? I have literally never met someone talking about gay sex more than homophobic people. Not even gays.
Maybe they just want to make their family great again by spending time together. Unfortunately, they only thing they have in common is hating on lgbt people.

As a cis, straight, white, ordinary and privileged person i want to take this opportunity and say that i do not want to ever be associated with people like that. I prefer kindness and teaching our children that they will be loved no matter who they are. I do not understand why these people are so hateful, like what does it change if other people can love whoever they want to and be themselves without getting treated as criminals. If you took the moment to read this, then i just want to let you know that you are valid and loved however you are. Be yourself 🏳️🌈!
Thanks! I started transition yesterday. I called my mom and took my first dose with her because she’s an amazing person. I wanted to write this because your words reminded me of her. Keep being awesome, friend
The main problem with this is that the assume that people have "default settings" and anything that deviates from that is wrong. The default settings being white cis straight and male. Women are barely tolerated, but they need them so 🤷
It's especially ironic as female would be the "default" sex if there was such a thing. The infamous y chromosome is just a messed up x chromosome. You can only tell the sex of a fetus later on in the pregnancy because all fetuses start to develop as female but some deviate and become male. It's why the world population is approximately 51% female.
@@issakelly8071 Well, it is a bit more complicated than that, to be fair. For one thing, there are more than one gene marker for sex. That's how some children are born as a boy while having XX chromosomes. Sometimes a gene for male sex gets attached to an X chromosome. Some XY children have androgen insensitivity syndrome, which means they never develop a male body. So, considering how complex the whole thing is, it is fully possible that transgender is a form of intersex. Just one we haven't grasped yet. Especially since the brain and the reproductive organs have different developmental stages.
The best part of this is the man’s half tucked shirt, and generally unkempt appearance. It really sets the quality standard for this “advert” Also, SpaceX isn’t a government run program, NASA just has a contract with them, so the whole “the government is doing this amazing thing, and we’re following in their footsteps!” Stuff is bonkers.

"Why does it sound like a bunch of Cis Straight White People trying to sound oppressed?" BECAUSE IT IS. It is a WHOLE thing with this type. This is a KEY example of Christofascism/Christian Nationalism. A giant persecution complex is a huge part of evangelical culture. Being persecuted for your beliefs is validation that you are correct. As a result, they NEED to see oppression because it's not there, and they can't acknowledge oppression of people that are not them. That oppression is just them getting what they deserve for not following God's will. This is absolutely 100% real, and there are a not insignificant number of people in US government who fully believe this (Sam Alito being the most recent obvious example), and it is TERRIFYING.
I don't understand why people think being Christian means they have to hate all LGBTQ+ people, or that LGBTQ+ people can't be Christian. You would think that rejecting people because of the way they were made by God goes against their faith. Plus, the part in the Bible that basically says "Gay people are bad" was added in the 1950s, so it isn't even in the original version. I myself am a queer Christian, and I hate when people use Christianity as an excuse for their horrible opinions.

I've been forced to watch videos very similar to this growing up, usually through various churches. The only thing that seems to have changed with time is the better camera quality.
I can so relate as a gay man who grew up going to church in Texas. it's scary listening to people talk about how they want Christianity to take over the government
So, the transgender bathroom thing: My school did what I think he's referring to. The trans and nonbinary communities at my school campaigned to get unisex bathrooms in every building on campus, so that people who feel awkward about using the normal public bathrooms, either because of dysphoria or worries about bullying, can just use a generic bathroom.
That’s awesome! I have an enby friend in my school who feels really uncomfortable using either men’s or women’s bathrooms, so I hope my school does this too. I’m in India though so probably not happening anytime soon :(
When I was young in my area (in Italy) there were lots of unisex bathrooms especially in places with children around so that both parents could take their kids to the bathroom no matter what their gender was... And now that they are associated with non-binary people they are getting removed. Because people are panicking that they have created something more useful than what they originally thought. It would be insanely funny if it wasn't sad.

I liked the bit about getting rid of Drag Queen Hour. Is it like Happy hour, but discount drag queen shows? And what about the Drag Kings? Also, I need to find the places with Drag Hours in my town! :D
If there were mandatory Drag Queen hours in a state that would be the most popular state, partially because it’s a bizarre law to enforce, partially for the reputation, and partially because the drag queen scene would be very good there both as a way for renowned drag queens to have fun and for new drag queens to establish themselves.

You would think that with how against they are with even saying “straight” or “cisgender” they would avoid “lifestyle” since it implies that there are multiple lifestyles like the homosexual/bisexual/asexual lifestyles, instead of the only lifestyle.
Look, as a cishet woman conservatives have been warning me for AGES that hanging out with people in the lgbtq+ community would turn me gay and I AM STILL WAITING. 😭
I have no doubt they were sincerely trying to be anti-lgbtq+, but for a moment, I thought they were making a parody of homophobes. A deeply confusing performance, and I don't feel that threatened by them. Was this something the man talking came up with on his own, and asked his family to come with him to perform? This is in my top 10 dumbest things I've ever watched now.
Modern satire suffers a very distinct problem: the difference between satire and sincerity is very blurry and thin, it's easily crossed, and unless you reinforce the line, the worst people will assume you're on their side when you're supposedly mocking them.
This rings as earnest for me. This is exactly as unhinged as I've seen in the US. "Attacking Christians" is code for "doesn't allow theocracy," and unfortunately it works excellently on their intended audience (authoritarian Christians). It's easier to watch with someone who sees it as simply baffling, bumbling, and poorly executed. Being inside the context of US culture and having grown up with one foot in the Religious Right movement (I got out, thankfully, but my family did not), it can be incredibly difficult to stomach. They want us dead but are too genteel to say it, so they produce things like this. Then cis/het Americans who are used to the background noise say, "oh just ignore them. they're harmless!" The continuous assault on the rights we've been able to get suggests otherwise.
Some positive news: the high school I'm going to is currently building gender neutral bathrooms, which makes my nonbinary self very happy!! My school district has done an amazing job these past couple of years in becoming more open and welcoming for LGBTQ kids :)
I wish there were gender neutral bathrooms at my school outside of the one in the main office. I know there's at least two nonbinary people (and absolute homies) at my school
