Was nice to see someone from the military on the show, made it a bit more relatable on saving. The 20% towards retirement was nice to hear cause that's what I've been doing with a 5% match to 25%. Keep up the good work

I think that the military taught this guy not to show all that much emotion. So, in the original show, he didn't show a lot of sorrow for his spending, but he said he wanted to change. So...we can take him at his word and see and hope that he/they change. Got a SIL in the military so I'm cheering for you, Joseph!

He's still young and can turn his life around. He worked hard and bought what he wanted. I respect that. His parent's gave him advice not to get into debt. My dad told me the same thing. You can buy what want but don't take it to the extreme.

Speaking as someone currently in charge of a squad of soldiers… we’ve had several discussions on budgeting, emergency funds, TSP, etc. I still have soldiers who spend on the newest tech/shoes, get married and immediately exceed their BAH to live somewhere fancy, etc... Some soldiers immediately tune out leadership because we get a higher paycheck. Not saying leadership can’t play a role in educating soldiers. Obviously, that’s what we’re here for. But this blaming language and pointing fingers at NCOs disempowers our junior soldiers and makes them think everything will just be handed to them. Just my two cents 😬

All due respect I disagree that he’s a disciplined hard worker. He went into the military so that someone else would tell him what to do after flunking out of college. He’s consistently resisting Caleb’s advice. He spends most of his money on a game. He’s a man child who admits that he lacks self-direction.

@@vanesslifeygo There's a lot more you get with Robinhood gold. Many traditional banks have fees anyway, but the $5 fee existed long before Robinhood even created their cash account and started offering the interest. I don't know what the interest rate is for non-gold off the top of my head but it does say on my account 4.9% APY with Gold so I'm assuming there is a non-gold rate a little lower. You really only need $1250 to break even on the fees. The higher you get past that, the less impact it has. Obviously, it's not for everyone, but if you have 100k in there or you take advantage of their other perks often, the convenience of having it in the same system as your investments is nice.

I saw the whole episode. Dude spends a ridiculous amount of money for what his monthly income is and then blows it off like it’s not that big of a deal…That’s why Caleb was getting irritated.

Yeah, if I recall he really didn’t have much in the way of bills…Just spent all his money on bs even going 3k in debt for a Yugio card then tried to justify it because it’s rare 😆 He was one of the more ridiculous people I’d seen on the show…He said he wanted to change but his spending habits just weren’t proving that. He was a polite cordial dude though…Hopefully he really did get his crap together after the show.

Love this video minus the "Why can't you bring food/drink from the outside of a restaurant?" rant. I'm a manager at a restaurant and it's a huge liability issue, especially with drinks IE people bringing in "water" (vodka). Had this happen a lot and could lose a liquor license easily which for our restaurant translates to +$400k annually in revenue. There are health code violations as well in regards to bringing in outside food. Just overall a poor understanding of the food service industry and violently annoying that customers don't respect or understand it. It's not to make a couple extra bucks on a water, it's to prevent lawsuits, liability, and loss of licensing.
