I feel like mike is the old grumpy bodybuilding teacher and we are all just a bunch a kids trying to learn but not listening well enough so he’s gotta yell it at us😂😂 I fuckin love it! thanks mike, you’ve helped me actually look like I might know what the fuck im doing😆 hello from Alaska. I’ll be waiting for a full workout vid in the short shorts, show off them legs mike! lmao🤣🤣🤣
After binge watching your videos and. picking up on the importance of keeping chest up when rowing and pressing something I have let get away for several years, first workout in a while without shoulder pain...thank you
Not in any specific order but these all wreck my head when I see them in gyms 1. A coach that puts u in a cookie-cutter training program (bench, squat, deadlift) without looking at your biomechanics while lifting first..cause ppls bodies move differently. 2. Comin to the gym decked out in gymshark like it’s a fashion show, but lookin like the famine or a beanbag with legs. 3. Not understanding that skeletal positioning will dictate muscle function. 4. Not having an understanding of the anatomy of the body and the function of different muscles…cause that’s just the blind leading the blind. 5. Chattin shit to others while ur performing an exercise 6. Afraid to put their hands on the client to see if the correct muscle is firing 7. Not understanding leverages and angles during lifts. Honestly there’s more but I’m stoppin cause I gotta watch my blood pressure
Seriously, all the information u put out is invaluable. I’ve literally watched all ur videos & there’s always something new to learn. This guy is the best coach I’ve ever seen.
Mike is as real as it gets in this industry. I have been following him for months. Each video is not about pushing a product or getting people to sub to his channel. What you get here is a blunt, in-your-face response to issues surrounding training that you withness these days. Right from personal trainers and their BS to how to perform each movement to develop a decent physique(without pushing a shit tonne of weight). Big Mike knows his shit and I can tell you by listening to what he is saying will clear the misconceptions we have had all along. Mike comes around and drops a 20min or so clip. Listen to this man. I have been lifting for 20 years, I know BS when I see one. This guy is legit. Thank Big Mike. It is a blessing to have you around in this modern age and time. Stay safe man. Thank you for all the videos you have put out.
Ive been following your advice video’s and tips on lifting little over month. I can literally see the difference in my body plus i feel I engage more muscle every lift. Rolling through Chest pop, roll back unbelievable. I think I enjoy lifting more now than before. Thank you wycked wycked 👍🏽
No joke this is so accurate! I have been religiously training the wycked way for about a year and a half now and recently went to free skate being a former hockey player and I could just tell I was driving off of "whole leg" as you say and its exactly like you teach to train so this style of training absolutely applies to body building and sports it just all makes sense after giving it time to learn more and more of what you're explaining just takes time just like you say over and over. #InBigMikeWeTrust
Another bad ass video for all the haters and wannabe trainers. Keep doing you Big Mike don't ever stop being real and straightforward some people in this world need that.
One of your greatest sessions. The snark was on-point and well directed. Thank you. Trying to learn with every video for my goals. This one is huge help.
I'm yet to meet a trainer that talks and explains stuff like you do to your own clients and your telling us such movements in detail. The brace your core thing didn't help much when i tried it so your right about that one for lats 👍. Thing is everything is so mixed up with powerlifting tips that we tend to stiffen up with everything.
Big Mike listening and learning from your content has taught me how to let my back open up. Its such a bad ass feeling once you finally "get it." When lats are able to open and close without midback also. So glad i found your stuff so early in my journey💪🏽🙏💪🏽
Mike, you knocked it out of the park with this video! Every variation that you showed and talked about are money in the bank! I've benefited from it and I hope others have 2! But I have to ask, rumor has it, you use a tripod... this must be addressed in your next video...JK! had to mention it seeing that it was mentioned at the end of this video 😅🤣😅🤣thanks for all your knowledge!
Damn...this is connecting so much..and yes i actually paused and went to go try and fully understand the movement so much more! Yeah this "tension " holding bracing is just nuts and it make sense why people are getting injured so much more.
That trying to light a lighter and it not clicking was a GREAT insight into an exercise being performed improperly is not being as effective as one may ‘think’ it is.
Same analogy with skateboarding, you never see a skateboarder locked down in there body, they allow there body to move that’s how they can perform tricks. Great watch Mike 🙌💪🏻
Bro I've learned so much from your videos, im 47 and thought I'd never be able to make certain changes in my physique. I've literally made changes insanely fast in my back . Your videos are enjoyable to watch, very knowledgeable as well as entertaining lol....I love your rants 😆 Thanks Mike!
Thank you once again! Good stuff! I listen to your videos In the sauna at the gym out loud…I think you’ve got some folks starting to think on their own..💪🏽… when you gonna get some good gear .. ladies muscle tanks..etc. ? Would love to Rock your brand! #knowledgeispower
I'm just curious about when you were saying some people were not built for the big three. I fully agree 100% and was just wanting to know if you think that those lifts, more so deads and squats, build more overall mass because of the recruitment of muscles? Definitely not saying anything you said was wrong since I've learned SO much more in the past year from watching/listening to you than majority of people I've watched for years. Thank you for doing these videos too they have helped me progress way more and have helped me deal with posture issues from being stiff.
Good site and solid advice. It drives me nuts when I see people put 4 to 6 plates on machines and then start rocking back and forth. Gyms trainers do not correct people, maybe because they do not know how the machines work.
10:20 hips behind shoulders.... Should I also do it for other muscles groups, like cable chest crossovers, rear delt exercises, triceps cable extensions and so on? Maybe you can make a own video about that topic
I'm not an expert like Mike but I was a professional soccer trainer, ran an academy.. I was a technique and mentality guy, that was the foundation for my players. I thought the soccer world was full of shit trainers. The fitness industry is epidemic status. One trainer today had her client doing lateral raises with DBs. This old man's wrists were higher than his shoulders. Where's the tension.. On his ulna?? The most prolific trainer at this gym puts all his clients through circuits, battle ropes, maxing out on bench and all his clients are fat. what's the purpose, the specificity? No concern for movement patterns. The guy played football for Ohio State, so what. You look like poop training with this guy. This is Next Level Fitness in Westerville where Meadows would occasionally train, it's crazy.
Mike! Mag grips or prime rot8 and why? I tried a close grip mag grip on back the other day and I’ve never felt my back like that before but I’ve been told by some that prime is good too. Can’t decide!
Literally talked to an online coach who told me he hit a PR on a freakin nautilus LAT pull-down. Dude and he’s out there training other idiots the same way!! Like dude, come on man:
You're talking about the same people who wear weightlifting belts around their hips to do preacher curls and triceps pushdowns.. it's amazing how clueless bodybuilders are
When you get into any fitness industry… isn’t the goal to be as flexible, and agile as possible? Swimming? Gymnastics? Football? Softball? Volleyball? In any sort of training prior to games there are reasons why they have the movements they do. R.O.M is key for anything!!! You aren’t a box!! Quit acting like it!!
I think I can’t Deadlift/Squat because of my anatomy is an absolute cop out. I said the same to myself for years. Turns out I lacked hip, ankle and upper back mobility and strength. Seriously Mike at what point was your body unable to do a squat or pick something up from the floor. I can guarantee you had the ability to do it as a child. Just utter nonsense. A better statement would be that some bodies have a higher risk potential of injury under heavy load doing these movements.
I havent finished the video but he did downplay cable lat pullovers and nautilus pullovers in a previous video. Everyones entitled to an opinion tho 🤷🏽♂️
