Does that make MagicMush the Cinema Snob for people who watched MrEnter? Are we getting Gen Z Channel Awesome? Is Chazington gonna become Not So Awesome?
you know a piece of media is gold when you keep checking to see how much is left in the video, not because "ughghhhhh when will this end" but more in a "mandopony excitedly checking the chat logs with the kids" way
The Stupendium is probably the only “Fan-Song” channel that I can watch completely unironically. It has a level of polish in both the music video and lyrics.
Hi, this is the Sans actor from MOTI's Undertale Musical project. Any comments, criticisms, and opinions on that take of Megalovania (+ the portrayal of Sans) are fair, and I understand where they come from. I appreciated the casual humor about it all. Being reminded of the impression or impact of a piece from over 5 years ago, in the recent, present day though - woof, haha. (In the context of what the topic of the video is covering, I get it. The work's still around, people are free to still weigh in and reflect on things from back then) Looking back on the pinned comment from eons ago, it was originally in response to the specific outpouring of the more inconsiderate negative comments within that circle and the specific audience we had at the time. Sometime ago, I had realized in hindsight (even way before seeing your vid) that THAT specific comment you highlighted (out of context) must have sounded defensive in response to literally any criticism, which isn't quite the attitude I wanted people to gleam from me in general. I do appreciate criticism and feedback esp. where I can use it to better my ability. I care about the quality of what I try to do, and have been trying to learn and improve steadily since that timeframe (I've gotten a lot more particular about timing well, too). I was very new to acting + singing digital performance at the time, and Sans was my first major character role in anything. I wouldn't be surprised if it missed several marks for folks, even to the point of being unlistenable in some cases. I did my best at the time, with what I had. All I can do is keep learning, growing, and improving from there. Thanks!
I didn’t enjoy it in probably the way you wanted but I definitely still enjoyed the singing, it’s an honest try and that’s what matters, you’re Sans in my book
chara is, in fact, pronounced as "kara". The reason everyone calls that character Chara is because the game says "the true name" when you name your file that way. It's basically a meta joke. the word character is shortened to just chara during development or something like that.
I always find it weird and wrong when people say "Kara" and try to justify it with "Well, it's short for "character"" To me, following the same logic, Toriel is supposed to be "Torial", because it's short for "Tutorial"
Christmas chemistry anchor chaos chronic chrome echo school archeology chorus chameleon schedule. A lot of words have "ch" pronounced /k/ so why is your way to pronounce it this way is correct? It's not like the word character is done kind of exception in pronunciation
@@Petardo_Dilos Because it sounds a lot better and is mostly how the real name is pronounced, Including spanish, greek and algerian. Even in English, Chara comes from Charlotte.
yeah, maybe just in general going over the more modern, contemporary fan song scene. id put CG5 in there too, even if he gell off hard once he started getting into dsmp
@@2-Way_Intersectionhis DSMP songs are all pretty good imo, especially lonely king, even if I don't like the server or dream Everything else recently ranges from meh to only in ohio tho
@@2-Way_Intersection i've listened to them. they're not that bad, it's just the subject matter that might make people cringe at it. he still puts out some fire i'd say
@@2-Way_Intersection @CG5 doesn’t deserve all the hate he gets for his songs, he is lit one of my favorite artists. He might make cringe meme songs, but that’s only part of it. He also has fun while making them. That’s also important. One of my favorite songs of all time is his collab with Tubbo in Life by the Sea. Just because Tubbo is in the DSMP, I don’t even watch it, doesn’t mean it’s a bad song. The Dream Team song, I See A Dreamer is also really good song wise, get over yourself with your hate of dream and his fanbase. Sorry for the rant. I just really love this guy and his songs. He makes me feel happy with his songs and it’s like a comfort
no youtuber I've ever seen has done something you can. its like a school essay but you gave up within the first word and made an absolute masterpeiceful trainwreck. I'm laughing every second either from cringe, some image on screen or some silly you thing you said "and on the 3rd day God made Glamerock Freddy". I'm always being reminded of my past and its like being exposed of a dark truth you forgot about. It actually feels like im in the room with you and that feeling is NOTHING anyone else can do. my god keep making video's this shit is so fucking masterful.
this video was hillarious but the worst part is that it could never be as hillarious as amateurs scream rapping over megalovania and friday night funkin songs
frequently throughout this video my face contorted into one of disgust and pain. and that is why i love video game fan songs so much. that’s an essential part of the experience. it’s so sincere and so campy and that’s why the best stuff must be painful to listen to
I will say this: Fandroid, while he isn’t around as much as he was in the past. I will forever remember him more than anyone else mentioned in this video. Bro man a huge impact in my childhood and was the first nerd core artist I’ve found.
Dude... The rap battle community is one of the most batshit insane communities I've ever stumbled across lmao, I'd love it if you actually did a video on it
Honestly, my favorite is Natewantstobattle (even though he doesn't do fansongs anymore). Not only is his rock production incredible but he always makes the lyrics about something beyond the game. Something personal. They are usually brutally honest and work when out of context of the game. Leave Me Behind is hands down my favorite fnaf song of all time for those reasons. CG5 is another one I like but he seems to be a lot more mixed among the community.
idk if you've noticed but every time jt music needs a woman's vocals to feature on the song they'll have andrea storm kaden as a feature and her voice makes me ascend to a higher plane. the amanda the adventurer song they did is so good it's been stuck in my head for a week.
you are unironically the funniest person on this website, you're videos never fail to LITERALLY make me laugh out loud (I hate myself for having to use that phrase)
I'm heartbroken that he dose in fact, not want to listen to a guy talking really fast to the rythym of a Friday night Funkin "song" I've been paralysed from waist down ever since I was 8. And one day my little brother put this on, It gave me the power to walk up and turn that shit off so I wouldn't lose feelings in my arms. Honestly shame on you 😔
I think people need to realize the fact that fnf songs don't and are not supposed to have lyrics. And yeah you're right it is just some guy talking really fast
When I was in middle school I was completely fucking obsessed with Man on the Internet's Undertale songs to the point that I transcribed and memorized most of them. This was before the genocide route songs, which objectively suck and only exist because Megalovania is popular and people wanted it despite the Sans voice actor being the weakest amongst the entire cast. I was pissed off about the Megalovania cover for months afterwards and now you've reminded me so I can be pissed off all over again
The Man On The Internet Hopes And Dreams' Frisk voice sounded so much like a chipmunk I made a compilation of Hopes and Dreams, but it's only the Frisk parts, and it still f*cking makes me laugh.
I’m gonna be honest, I like Man On the Internet, I think the thing I dislike most about Undertale the Musical is that whenever I replay the original game and want to experience it on its own, sometimes I start hearing the lyrics. That being said yeah their megalovania sucks. We Have Megalovania At Home is funny though
I remember listening to the entire undertale the musical and loving it when I was like 9 or 10 but now I look back and I'm like definitely not their finest work
I met AJ from Random Encounters at an anime convention like 4-5 years ago when he just happened to be crossing my path in the hallway and I got nervous and told him “Hey I used to watch you guys when I was younger! Not anymore though!” and then asked him for a picture 😭 tf is wrong w me. AJ if you see this, every couple months I go back to the RE channel and binge watch new and old videos
One fan song youtuber that I remember watching awhile back was this guy called Radix. Back during the height of Undertale's popularity, he used to make covers for Undertale songs, before deleting his channel and leaving RU-vid shortly after.
radix is still around i believe! he goes by Khamydrian iirc and he has reuploaded his undertale covers. that megalovania cover he did is still so fucking good.
9:10 "Actually, from the sercuity guard's pov in the song, he's wearing a Feddy fozbear mask so the animatronics are noticing the guy's flesh inside the mask. Duh..."🤓
That CupHead Rap and the Crash Bandicoot rap was my first introduction to two of my favorite games of all time. Same with the Little Nightmares song. True childhood classics. The GW rap sums up the tone of the game personally and Join Us For A Bite is truly incredible
I do unironically love some of man on the internets videos. Sometime's I really enjoy their lyrical choices. My favorite is probably their genocide version of another medium "evacuate". It's able to make the song feel creepy without having to force it. I think for me I like fan songs if they add to or amplify my feelings on the song/ thing it's attached to. There are some I find grating but I think OK Vocals can be elevated by the lyrical choice and how it portrays the characters
Not sure if it’ll peak your interests as much, but there’s a second layer to the nerdcore genre. They focus on making fan songs for anime, but both communities tend to collaborate with together. I’d seriously recommend you check them out, some of the main artists are Fabvl, Rustage, Dizzyeight, DPS, & Divide Music. A few of these artists started by making video game music before switching to anime.
4:15 It's been debated a lot on how Chara is pronounced. For a long time I said it like "Charr-ah", then later I figured "Karah" sounded cooler and might be it. It's supposed to be like the word character, in the same way Toriel is like tutorial. So saying it like "Care-ah" might be the technically correct one. I think it makes the most sense, especially since Cara is a real name.
Watching your videos is the visual equivalent to experiencing a half-awake feverdream and simultaneously suffering a PTSD-induced panic attack. Keep it up bossman
Okay so I adore these videos, it makes me feel so much more secure in my love for these stupid fan songs. Side note I ADORE the Phoenix Wright Musical. I genuinely believe that everyone in that one in particular was perfectly cast. It was my intro to the series and im so glad about that.
I always loved how The Megas would actually play new versions of the songs they cover instead of just singing over them, I know it's a lot of work but if people who did these "X the musical/with lyrics" videos tried their hand at that they probably wouldn't be so stilted and awkward They're an actual band and don't really fall into the realm of 'RU-vid fansongs' but I still felt the urge to mention them because more people need to check out some of their work, like they seriously managed to do one of the best portrayals of Proto Man/Break Man's character in Mega Man 3 in a cover of the short ass weapon get jingle from that game
Yeah, the majority of his songs are very off tune and grating, but World Revolving is legit pretty much a perfect lyrical version, the lyrics capture Jevil's asburd insane logic and personality and the way all the lyrics overlap covering all the different instruments at once is phenomanal. A major standout hit, espically compared to the embarrasment that is the Megalovania video.
Ultimate Show, Vs. Marx, and Your Contract Has Expired also go hard. Ultimate World Spun too. Though Marx’s vocals could use some more work than just constantly screeching like a harpy
@@menherapills Fr I’m hoping I can pay homage to those covers in some form or another - maybe with the Ultimate World Spun as a victory song for the Jester Trio as all worlds are amalgamated into one after the heroes are defeated - though our heroes would eventually be resurrected into a World of Chaos and they need to bring balance to all worlds again by taking those clowns down
As man on the internet's #1 apologist I can't lie a lot of this is right, most notable with the boss songs they're like my least favorite part of undertale the musical. Ruins with lyrics will always be heat though
Slamacow actually went on to work with Laura Shigihara (the lead composer for Plants VS Zombies) on a series called Farmer in The Sky, based on the game Rakuen she developped.
4:03 holy shit, thank you so much for putting bozo dubbed over in here, LMAO. I genuinely paused the video and was shocked to see it in here but immediately began to laugh like an actual clown. This video is hilarious.
As a fellow LittleBigPlanet Enjoyer I’ve already been a fan of your use of the music in ur vids. But seeing a callout to such a specific part of LBP online culture shit with the Minecraft stuff made me lose my mind because like you’re totally fucking right. You Get It. It’s awesome
I'm 100% with you on your takes about Smosh, I really like their old stuff because nostalgia but they balance "genuinely funny absurdist joke" with "im being blasted in the god damn face with 2008-2014" in a way that makes it hard to champion as genuinely still great. If you have more to say please make a full Smosh video, there's so much stuff to cover and I truly believe only you are fit for the job. We basically grew up with the same stuff except I was the weird kid that watched an ungodly amount of Cracked's After Hours. I don't know if it's anything to anyone else, but it's something to me god damn it. EDIT: Alright now I'm CONVINCED your fucking with me because you've started making Bozo Dubbed Over jokes at literally the exact same time as my friends. You are evil.
you were laughing about those undertale songs and im like "surely they cant be that bad" it sounds like some theater kid put on his favorite soundtrack at the school talent show and sung over it, it is deplorable
This video has some of the most chaotic energy ive ever seen, It almost feels like its unscripted and all one take of someone just talking about internet videos with no real pacing and I love it
Man on the internet peaked at the deltarune 1 lyrics Also i listened to jt music RELIGIOUSLY in 5th grade. I can still remember the openings for both hello neighbor songs
Dude I'm wasted after a full bottle of jack and you are one of the funniest people on the planet. Literally slapping me knee while watching. Still, love your vids and keep up the amazing commentary.👍
I forget but did we give Stupendium a spotlight? The tf2 most fashionable faction rap is a bop and pretty well voice acted. And then there’s the chalk eaters I believe that collabed with Glados’s voice actress for their valve song count to 3
This video is what adhd feels like, the constant out of nowhere transitions and changes to the topic is chaotic in a good way. Keeps the video going and nothing overstays it’s welcome
