@@esk8ooligan Thanks man!! Unfortunately I have only tried the 6" pneumatics on it so far. Haven't tried the 120 clouds yet. Winter in Virginia may force me to put it up for the year before I try them. 😭 But I love the pneumatics so far. Besides them being unbalanced. But I don't ride fast yet. @Hell's favorite Salty Masshole No, that is a G3. For a hub motor board, I really like the flexy deck of that board. When I just want to do some lazy carving and enjoy a few miles, I love to take that board out. I get about 12-18 miles per charge and the 450 hub motors don’t do too bad. Nice eye on scoping out the boards in the vid. You will LOVE the Zeus. And yes, I would definitely put the 120’s on it. Let me know when you get it and how you like it. Just add to the collection like the rest of us. Thanks for the view and comment.

@@sebastiancaballeromarquez1354 Hey dude! I have the Endeavor S not the Pro. As for the S version, no, the real life specs of my board do not even come close to the advertised. I am only getting about twelve miles per charge on the board. I have reached out to Propel, but they have pretty much brushed me off. I took the board and battery to a local battery guy who builds batteries. When he looked it over, he just laughed. He is looking into building a battery for me that should have been included in the S model, so I am waiting on him to get back to me with what is possible. Don't get me wrong...the board design is outstanding...the board mechanics are seriously lacking. Hope that helps in any decision you may be considering, but remember, I have the S model. Hey you have a cool way of presenting the boards, greetings from overseas...I finally got my Zeus 😃 love a lot about it. But I am a little disappointed must say, even think it could be faulty somehow(ESC?) Don't have much experience, only a season with a Wowgo 3X belt drive(2x600W) and think the 3X had a way more punchy ride feel than the Zeus. I just want to get some opinions from owners of the Zeus before I turn to Ownboard with the issue. How do you feel about the speed mode 1 and 2 on the Zeus are they useable for every day riding, my Zeus feels really weak in both modes. Speed mode 1(18,4 seconds to reach 22kmh or 13,5 mph) is so gentle I could without hesitation give it to child that is able to use it to try it out. Speed mode 2 is just a little faster, not to much, feels also pretty weak(8,4 seconds to reach 22 kmh or 13,5 mph). Only speed mode 3 has some real punch, but not from standstill, it needs to get moving and then it kicks in. On the Wowgo 3X this torque kick was instantaneous, on the Zeus the torque feel is completely gone in speed mode 1 and 2, on mode 3 it's better but when the board is moving. In speed mode 1 and 2 full throttling it with me on it I can't get it to drive over an edge of a rug, carpet, after 5 seconds the remote just signals "Motor Stalling" . 😬 With the brakes I feel like a passenger, no useable control of the braking strength with the remote, just an On/Off feeling and for esk8 speeds kinda dangerously slow deceleration. Don't know if that's the case with all or it's connected with my issue. I know that the Wowgo 3X would/did throw me off if not being careful with the brakes. Also it did save me a few times, where I don't see how the Zeus could save me with it's brakes 😬. I kinda suspect a faulty ESC, don't have enough experience...what do you think. How does your Zeus ride in mode 1 and 2, can you climb a slight incline in mode 1 or 2? Thanks, Best regards and safe riding 👍
@esk8ooligan
@esk8ooligan 2 года назад
Hey Bro…good to hear from you. You have packed a lot in, so let’s dig into it. Speed mode 1 and 2 are very slow. I have yet to use them except for the first 30 seconds of riding to see what they did. I am always riding mode 3 and sometimes punch into 4. Keep in mind your weight will impact that. I am 190 pounds. I never use speed mode 1 or 2 unless I am putting a new rider on the board. Yes, the brakes are not adjustable. Mine are extremely tight. What I have noticed is that mine are a gradual increase. The board has never required me to run off the board when braking. On mine, I have noticed that mine at slower speeds are pretty aggressive and stop me pretty quickly. At higher speeds, say around 31-34 I have noticed that when I apply the brakes, they ease into braking and become more aggressive as I begin to slow down. If they were too aggressive at higher speeds, that could be very dangerous as it would throw you off the front of the board. I would put a few miles on the board and see how they work for you. You kind of have to learn them just a little. I would kind of expect the “Motor Stalling” issue on carpet…and I had the same thing when I was testing it in my house. Keeping in mind that you are on carpet with a pad under the carpet, with weight on the board and then easing into the throttle, I would expect that warning to come on the remote. Again I had the same thing happen, and I had that happen to me once riding, but I was at a stop sign, on a slight hill and my back wheels were in a somewhat deep crack in the pavement. How many miles do you have on the board? Have you charged the board after it arrived, but before you rode it? If not, I would do that initial charge. Also, have you checked your wheel nuts? When I do my wheels on any board, I always tighten the wheel nut until the wheel moves, but not very well…then I back the nut off just a little bit until the wheel really spins well. DON’T go too loose. Do that on all four wheels. I am sure you checked your belt tension to make sure it is not too lose. That can have impact on your torque. Then, I would put a few miles on it with starts, stops, and some higher speed runs (a speed you are comfortable with). Then after that, re-evaluate. Not saying you don’t have an issue, but at least you will have covered your base and have information and answers prior to going to Ownboard with a complaint. I hope this helps in some way. Wish I could jump on the board for you. Mine runs great…not that that helps you, but it really is a fantastic board. Let me know how things go for you.

@@esk8ooligan Hey there, thanks for a quick reply ✌😃. Likewise you answered in your style. Love it 👍👍 will try to answer in steps... I am exactly the same weight as you are, and can relate to your feeling with modes 1 and 2. I guess this is how this board's ESC is programmed. I can't complain about midrange torque in mode 3 and T...just the start feels a little bit weaker than my Wowgo 3X had(it felt like instant torque), on the Zeus it feels a little delayed. I couldn't ride much as it's winter here do I did just a few sprints in mode 3 & T in a garage house and the testing in my room. So maybe just a mile or two. Actually I didn't want to put more miles on it before I get some opinions in case I would later decide to do a warranty claim on it. I did about 500 miles on the Wowgo 3X belt and that board had pretty aggressive but controllable brakes, so I got pretty used on that kind of braking style(leaning back before punching the brakes). I can relate to your feeling of the Zeus's brakes gradually grabbing more, but the difference for me was/is so huge that I actually feel a little uncomfortable with them. Feel like this is the only and the biggest weakness of the Zeus. If you ask me for the speeds that the Zeus achieves I think maybe Ownboard should address it with a reprogrammed ESC for existing users to buy with a discount or similar...just my thoughts...maybe Ownboard is reading 🤷‍♂️... The Stalling issue suprised me just because I never experienced it on the Wowgo 3X, as I said before it had like an instantaneous torque in all modes, unlike the Zeus wich I feel in mode 1 & 2 it really very gradually increases torque from 0 Nm to what's programmed for each mode... The battery was almost fully charged when unboxed and I checked everything from wheel nuts(do the same procedure as you, with a slight release after tightening), belt tension is also perfect and all the bearings run smoothly. As said I almost have no miles on it due to weather, but reading everything mine probably feels about the same as yours...will definitely try to get a few more miles in as it's clearing a bit in the next week and then re-evaluate. To recap I guess I was expecting a board that rockets of the line, but got one that cruises of the line. Dang...now I'm a little tempted by the Hurricane 😜🙆‍♂️ because I was expecting a rocket ship launch board feel and aggressive brakes... This is no where near a bashing on the Zeus or Ownboard, in my opinion it's the most beautiful production board at the moment, the initial feel is smooth and stable but would love more aggressive brakes and throttle. Well I will definitely ride it and hope I can get a little more torque feeling out of it with a 107mm wheel/45t pulley combo and will unfortunately have to adapt the riding style to the brakes unless Ownboard is reading and will address it with a reprogrammed ESC maybe 🤷‍♂️😃🙆‍♂️ Thanks again Bro this helped a lot, looking forward on future reviews 🛹👍 Happy & Safe riding ✌😃

@esk8ooligan
@esk8ooligan 2 года назад
I have not had to replace a motor yet, but I don't believe it would be too much of an issue. There is about a half inch space between the two motors when mounted. As for getting new motors, right now with the supply and demand issue, that would be hard to answer. With proper maintenance, you should get many miles from these motors. I can say that these motors by far are the best of all my eSK8s. If you are contemplating a buy, I would without a doubt recommend this board. It is fast...It is a blast...It has a great battery. Thanks for the view and comment.

It's a great board, don't get me wrong, but I'm still waiting for someone to match lacroix. Everybody is comparing exway and meepo, etc, but at the end of the day, ain't nothing touching a nazare.
@esk8ooligan
@esk8ooligan 2 года назад
Now that would be an interesting comparison, but not a fair one. The Nazare is in a class of its own. I mean at $3649.99 with an 18S4P battery and some titanium parts, that would be like comparing a BMW to a Buick LaSabre. Would I like to have a Nazare? Sure, but for the $3649.99 I can pick up two other pretty decent boards and add to my collection to round it out even more. I'm not willing to pay that kind of money for a board just to compare it...probably won't see that comparison on this channel any time soon. I buy all my own boards so that I can be open and honest about the product with no exceptions from the manufacturer since they gave me the board. Hope that makes sense. @@esk8ooligan I hear you, I just want one of these companies to step up to the plate. Granted, the Pantera that bajaboard just made is a BEAST, but it's rocking a $6000 price tag... double the price for basically better suspension. And yes, lacroix carries some of the highest price tages on the market, their boards squeak like Hell and they have the turn radius of a stretch limo, but 50mph with little to no speed wobble is just amazing. I'd say that's worth trading in 2 other boards. However, I do agree with your review. Personally, I love my 4wd Atlas. Yes, the Atlas was overpriced (not as bad as evolve, but still), I just love how it handles. And yes, it did get over spec'd almost immediately, but it grips great if you take it off road. I have actually ridden the original Zeus...meaning that I didn't rely on what others told me...I relied on actual experiences. The power is pretty darn good on the original Zeus and even better on the Pro version. The brakes, as I have always said, are okay on the original Zeus and even better on the Pro. And yes, you are correct, support could always be better on ALL boards...even American made boards. At least I am buying, actually riding and testing them, and providing my opinion. @esk8ooligan
@esk8ooligan 2 года назад
Hey man, how are you? Like the auto industry, Ford can not sue Toyota because the Toyota looks like the Ford. Concepts can not be copy written or trademarked. While the decks look similar, that is an actual deck design (Dropthrough Symetrical Cutaway) that is used by many board manufactures. No board manufacturer has a trademark or patent on foam grip tape. Now if Ownboard had stollen a proprietary ESC that had coding developed by Onsra, then yes, there would be a potential court case. I am taking for granted you are comparing the Zeus to the Onsra Black Carve 2. If that is so, there are so many differences between these two boards, that any intelligent judge would throw the case out in a second. Deck composite…truck size…TKP vs DKP…motor size…battery size…etc. The boards coming out today are unbelievable. AND, they are getting very competitive in design and functionality. Again, going back to the auto analogy, it is kind of like comparing Ford to Toyota to BMW. They all do the same basic thing…get you from point A to point B, but it is the design, look, and futures that get you to buy their product. I have the Backfire G3, Ownboard Zeus, Meepo Hurricane, Eovan GTS Carbon Super, and the Propel Endeavor S. I am eying three other boards to add to my collection. They all are different, but there are features to each that I really like. I have my daily driver (Zeus) and then I have my off-roader (Endeavor S), and my carver (Hurricane). If you stripped off the product markings, most people would not be able to tell you which is which. You do bring up a very good point that makes us wonder…in the next generation of boards, what will set one board apart from another and make us want that particular board. A popsicle skateboard is a popsicle skateboard, but you add different trucks, bearings and wheels, and you begin to set them apart. Good comment…makes us think a little about innovation and the future of these products. Appreciate the view and comment.

Hey man. I have the Endeavor S. It is a completely different board, but my Endeavor S does not even come close to the Zeus. My Zeus gives me about 35 miles per charge while the Endeavor S is giving me between 12 and 17 miles per charge. The ESC is much more smooth in the Zeus than the Endeavor S. While I love the suspension in the Endeavor S, the turning radius is much tighter in the Zeus, and yes, the suspensions in both are of completely different designs. The Endeavor S, if it had a better battery, would be a great board and one for off-roading. The Zeus is one of the best for street cruising and carving. Do you have the S or the Pro? Appreciate the view and comment. We are just going to have to agree to disagree on the Endeavor being better than the Zeus.
