Nice review! I tried on the spring drive ceramic version of this and was blown away. I typically wear 34-36mm watches and never considered GS sports watches before but this was by far the best watch I tried on in its price range. I just don’t like having watches with functions that I don’t have a need for (like GMT) so if they bring out a spring drive ceramic bezel dive watch, I’m sold.

Great looking piece, but I prefer the Quartz equivalent because it is substantially thinner and also slightly smaller in diameter. I do wish the 9F version had a clasp similar to this one (or even better with on the fly adjustment as you mention) thougj

I believe the 9F has the same shade of blue on the dial, same finishing too. 14.4mm thick is approaching chronograph dimensions

I agree about the micro-adjustment clasp. Having to use a tool negates the whole purpose, which is to be able to adjust on the fly throughout the day. Additionally, I really hate the redundant 24-hr indicators. Many watches have it and it's both pointless and aesthetically noisy. Putting the markers on the internal bezel is smart and opens up the opportunity to employ other external bezel types. As it stands, I think this watch is quite a bit overvalued compared to other offerings on the market.

Not the whole purpose, they’re used to get a better fit on the bracelet as the distance between the micro adjustment holes is smaller than size of each link.

Grand Seiko would be even more awesome with toolless size adjustment. All watches over 2K need to have it. I'm glad to be picking up my Polar Exp II this weekend from the AD. As nice as this GS is, it wouldn't scratch the two year itch I've had for the Polar.

The Explorer II is a really ugly Rolex, it vies with the Yachtmaster II for the worst looking watch Rolex have made. I’d rather own the GS, especially the spring drive version with the ceramic bezel.

Imagine if the case thickness was 12.5 - 13.0 mm. This thing would be SUCH a winner. At 14.4 mm though, it's a no go for me.

6:40 the thickness is definitely a deal breaker. Not even the Tudor Chrono BB which is a chronograph is that tall. And if I'm gonna wear something that tall, it better be a chronograph lol.

There has been a bit of a spate of YT watch reviewers recently not actually handling the watch, but not making it clear in their ‘review’. Good to know that’s not the case. Best wishes

No there best GMT sportswatchs are the spring drive SBGE253G, SBGE255G and SBGE257G with black, blue or green ceramic bezels.

Seiko is always ruining an otherwise great watch design with 4 o'clock crowns. I know it's like their signature thing but it's so ugly. Well, just in my opinion obviously.
