I adore how intentional Melissa is about her platform. Her words are precise, her guests are knowledgeable, & the education is INVALUABLE. AND it highlights black voices. ❤️❤️❤️
These guests are excellent! Can Josh make sure he turns their volume on their mics up because compared to Kev & Liss we can barely hear what they are saying because they do drop gems in these videos!
LISTEN!!!! That thing about vacation and being in BONDAGE to a J-O-B is crazy!!! Soooo proud of yoooouu, Tonya!!!! GO, girl!!!!! I am in finance/accounting, and you are inspiring me SO MUCH!!!!
i LOVE going back to these old vids. Melissa talking about her scarcity mindset in 2019 and just this week in 2021 sis was talking about renewing her vows in a destination ceremony with full on ERRYTHANG!!! and dropping the money for the NAACP party and photoshoots and the like. love the comfortability of spending and trusting in continued stability
When I tell y’all this is helping me right here! The scarcity ideology and everything else y’all were discussing! Whewww chilleeee, I had to take a couple of deep breaths throughout the podcast!😩 But it’s helping me! #GettingBetter #DebtFree2020
Yes! I enjoy and gain information watching your show. The Fredrick's and their guests are very knowledgable and real, that's what draws me here. Keep it up! #Melissalovethehair#
The pricing thing is something that I struggle with my photography business and this convo is putting things into prospective. Man this is yet another good one for the books!
I may start only watching on the weekends so I can make a drinking game. A shot for every time Kev yawns. All the shows he does, he’s the only one exhausted. You can see he is grinding to make his dreams come true.
This really help me to move forward even more. I set out to be debt free in 2017, by working overtime with saving that money along with my monthly bonus. It took me 1 1/2 years to get out of debt. I sacrifice vacations, going out to dinners and buying clothing by 50%-70%.#FinancialFreedomIsKey
Kev is so ME!!! Literally adding to the plate and removing NOTHING... you can't live like that!!! Yeeeesss to everything y'all said about charging for what you're WORTH!!!!
This was great. I'm definitely following her now. 1 of the MANY things I enjoyed about Tanya & her story is that she said she is keeping the cost down so people who DON'T have it like that right now can STILL benefit & learn. GREAT Q&A Melissa 😁👍🏼
@@thedebbyoshow685 Let me tell you what! I'm like Melissa and have a $25 Ulta card from last year.....for what idk lol please take it away! We gonna do better! We have to!
My husband is JUST like Tonya's!!! He grew up in a single family household, and he has a true fear of hitting the "bottom". He truly has the scarcity mindset, and, while it keeps us balanced, I know that it is rooted in sheer fear of what may happen. (lol @ Melissa on the Sephora gift card... yeah, girl... you couldn't do NOTHING with the gift card other than SPEND IT hahaha)
Another great episode!! Come on Love Hour!! I never thought about my money story, but now see it and how it is reflected in my daily life. Heading over to do the quiz now! Thanks Kev for balancing the info and real talk with the funny 🤣. I need the funny too, and you bring it every time Kev 👏🏽👏🏽 'appreciate ya!
I loved her perspective on money management. I’m getting my blue ribbon membership tonight. Thanks for having her on your show. Melissa you’re killing these series btw.
Yes! Communication is key! Also, as an entrepreneur, I have LOVED joining entrepreneur Facebook groups and networking with others for advice. It has been such a HUGE help to change my money story and life. I am so happy they are talking about this!
This is so good! I've been trying to get my finances together and this series is really eye opening. Especially living in New York (pray for me y'all 😂)
Liss and Kev! I know people say they love y’all all the time and your probably thinking how you don’t know me but your yes to tjis life is truly helping me Temeka grow!!! This series on finances is dope dope... and so on time with my prayers for myself. I’m just tankful I started following Kev back when he was on periscope and never looked back from there you guys have been a blessing... from my typing fingers to your eyes thank you.
Bruh...finding out what your colleagues make vs what you’ve been AFRAID to ask for is just...life changing. That’s also what inspired me to quit my job and pursue my own dreams. I found out they were giving me “nigga money” and I started implementing my exit strategy THAT DAY.
I really love the point of making sure that if you do get publicity that you have process put in place to make that exposure is beneficial for you. ie. Getting emails, subscribers, sales etc. Thanks for this amazing conversation.
Man I'm loving these stories and these lessons y'all sharing on here. These are the kind of grown folks conversations I want to be having. Keep the guests coming.
Just a suggestion: y'all may want to think about getting some of those small popper stoppers for the mics to catch all them "P" sounds for those of us that wanna listen at a high volume. #justsayin
The thing about working in the heat is that you dont know how long it will really take (it usually takes longer than I think). I'd move by myself and throw everything away. I can't 🤯
Wow this was a really good episode for my husband and I. We are a blended family with two totally different family dynamic backgrounds with fears about finances that we both brought into our marriage. We are also newly weds and we're 80's babies so I guess we're also millennials! lol This was right on time and Tonya provided so many nuggets for us to chew on and apply to our own marriage. Thanks Kev and Liss this episode was so informative, uncut and much needed.
Liz!!! Can you please talk about what’s normal in a marriage and what’s not? Like what does healthy conflict or disagreement look like? What’s normal and not normal or unhealthy when it comes to disagreements and arguments in marriage? I ask because many people stay in relationships longer than normal because they/we believe what we are going through is normal &/or all relationships go through the same thing? I want you and Kev’s opinion because you all seem to have a healthy relationship. Some people even ask questions about their significant others actions and people will say stay or leave. So I wish you all could cover some scenarios or actions or words that should not be acceptable. I know Dr. Gottman calls 4 behaviors the horsemen of the apocalypse or a relationship is on it way to its death. One of those behaviors being contempt. Thanks!
The best relationship anyone can have is the one with yourself. People change sometimes grow in opposite directions...if everyday is a struggle and you realize you've changed or they've changed and you find yourself looking for a way out or other options it's probably time to let go. When you stop arguing because you no longer care to is when I'd worry..
This would be such a great topic! I think so many of us learn consciously and unconsciously from media, our parents even church, that certain behaviors and attitudes are normal when they are in fact unhealthy and lead to dysfunction. It would be awesome to hear them talk about the signs of an unhealthy relationship and possible solutions!
Please guys, increase the volume of your podcasts going forward. The opening music was soooo loud then there was a significant drop in the volume after.
I love this type of content yes bring it. ☝️ thing is I could barley hear the guest not sure if she isn’t speaking in the mic or it’s low. Kevin mic over power hers.
I enjoy the content a lot but I will admit that if your goal is to educate your community, you need to understand that if you want your community to have financial stability as well, you can't expect the average person to have $200 to spend on your program.
She started her journey by borrowing a book from the library. It's free to go into the library and read a book. We have to start to make changes at whatever level we can 🤷🏿♀️ right... $27/mth is really reasonable for some.
Ultimately one has to keep in mind that she is an entrepreneur and although she may in fact be genuine it is also her hustle. She's selling you information you can likely acquire on your own. Some people need a push in the right direction and for them she fulfills a need.
