These Decks are not "Budget Friendly" 

100% you are better off running an optimised budget deck than an unoptimised 'budget' meta deck.

The stun deck is like the equivalent of the episode from Yugioh GX where Manjoume has to duel his brother, using a deck of expensive Parallel Rare giant dragons, and he uses stuff he found at the bottom of a well.

I love when yugi tubers with connections and years of experience with people within their local scene say "just borrow the cards bro". Yeah im supposed to borrow rhe cards from people i can only see once a week if i can be bothered to take the 2hr journey to locals because there isnt one thats actually close to where i live or work

The rarity collection should've shown them that it works better than the crappy system we use now. Not only makes it the game more budget friendly, but it also gets sold much better.

5:29 exactly this. I've been playing the One Piece TCG recently, and "budget" decks over there are 20-60 dollars, and those are decks that are competitively viable and topping events

Could never explain this well to my friends but 100% I'm not paying $400 to play the 7th best fire deck variant so I can realistically never beat good opponents who could afford more bonfires or Diabellstars than me. Up to a certain point there isn't a different in price for a deck it's all just "expensive" why do I care if one deck costs $600 and the other $1500 both those prices suck ass I don't wanna pay either of those lol.

I still love how the OCG do it where they print all the meta cards at both higher and lower rarities so theoretically everybody can play the decks they wanna play. If people wanna pay for the higher rarities, they can, but for those on a budget, they can just pick up the cheap versions. I'm so confused why Konami has such different theses when it comes to OCG and TCG.

I play several TCGs were $30-40 gets you decks at full power with few or no compromises that yeah won't Top 8 an event but are more than viable and can even take wins from the meta.

If you ask me what it SHOULD be: Budget= $20-50 Mid range= $50-150 Top tier+Holos=$150-500 Anything more is ridiculous

"budget" will always be very subjective, which is why its almost always better to explain what the possible budget tradeoffs and concessions are, rather than just posting a list and assuming its within every budget players preferred power:cost ratio. i recently saw a budget dino deck profile where, even tho the full power dino core is "only" like $120, the guy still explained alternatives you could play if you dont want to spend $90 on just 3x ground xeno. just tell people what theyre getting for their money at various price points, and itll be easy for anyone to figure out how much theyre willing to spend.

For me, i like to compare Yu-Gi-Oh to radio control cars. I decide if im willing to build a deck, and what rc car can i buy with that kind of money, if i can buy an rc car with that budget at my hobby shop, then the deck is not budget

Floo is like 25 bucks on a good day(min rarity of course, max is like 40 lmao). It's been falling off with the new meta shifts, but it can still compete if that's all you're looking for. That being said, don't expect to have friends at your locals.

The cost of the format is why I’m currently just playing yubel. It’s fun, different, and cost me next to nothing to build because I pulled all the new cards and most of the old cards were in my collection.

Stun might be budget but I wish it wasn't such an unattractive alternative.

I think the top 8 ogdoadic deck that topped a regional recently definitely qualifies as a budget deck. basically everything but the Thrusts was cheap and they didn't even play S:P little knight or Sky crisis both cards that people swear should be run or you lose. even the expensive card in princess was just an option. it wasn't their end board goal. sure it ended in a 3 step link bagooska (that also works on links) and 2 omni negates to prevent the opponent from playing but the deck idea existed ever since Lios arrived in the TCG and that list was a lot better than the money sink MBT did for their 10 minute testing where they stuck the Diabellestarr engine and a bunch of bad evolsaur cards in there and hoped it worked. when the part that made the deck good was the ogdoadic portion which they made it only a small engine.

3:38 fenrir isn't really a good example, since kash fen is probably one of the most splashable monster cards ever printed that isn't a handtrap. i can't think of a single deck where kash fen is a bad choice. there's plenty that don't have space, but very few where it's actively bad

I have been playing fire king tri since the release of the fire kings and you don’t need Ty-phon, s:p, (i rarely summon either) and the diabel engine can easily be replaced by a dogma engine. I actually think the dogma engine is better and more flexible w/going second

I decided to try raidraptors, mostly cuz it looked fun and was "budget" at only $200ish dollars. Even then, it's not meta and not really budget, but in comparison to what is meta, $200 sure felt budget 😂

400 dollar budget deck was a real thing he posted yeah. I feel like runick stun is the best investment deck right now, it's pretty cheap and also plays good carda(the runicks) that are likely to continue to see play in real decks.

I play Fire King Tri Brigade but in fun version unlike certain Tron player >.> specifically no diabellastar and I try to optimiize the hell out of it trying to create best version possible so I can try to master it like one of my local players who mastered Superheavy Samurai and tops locals

As someone with years of experience in MtG, budget to me is anywhere from $20 to $100 depending on format, and I feel like that should be the right price point for decks period. You wanna blow your wallet up for the best of the best? Sure blow a few hundred to a grand. But a fun deck with decent power shouldn't cost more than $150 at most.

I do like Fire King Tri-Brigade, but I'll play it my way to make it fun. I ain't buying the Diabellstar cards even it's in the price range. I'm better off getting them through through Master Duel. Even if I'm one less Nadir.

I'd say no "budget" deck should be over £100. At the end of the day, this is a hobby. You should not be spending more on cardboard than on your weekly groceries. Meta being more expensive I can live with, but not when the deck is half a month to a months wage, which will maybe last you half a year to a year depending on the banlist. That's the best way I can put it.

My threshold for budget is 20 bucks for the whole engine, and somehow I find it acceptable to add 1 card for 10 bucks (in the case of ED boss monsters). This game has ruined me.

"Affordability" and "Viability" shouldn't be on the same axis. It always sucks when you lose a game because you decided to pay rent instead of buy cards.

If you're taking Stun to an event, just don't go because you aren't planning on playing the game anyways and are just going to make anybody else you play have a bad time.

I used to think budget was trying to build an entire competitive deck for less than $100. Realistically, it should be whatever you, the player, can afford. Which will always be too much for these always unhappy yugioh players. The Horus engine is like $175 and not a single person actually cares.

I have a idea on how to stop fire decks: WE SIMPLY DO NOT SHOW UP TO EVENTS THAT KONAMI MAKES, proving to Konami that we actually care about the format being healthy, and also showing to them that WE ARE NOT SPENDING OUR INSURANCE MONEY ON CARDBOARD WITH WAIFU'S ON IT please note that i am exaggerating a argument that everyone already knows.

When Player A can afford the 1500 meta deck, and Player B can only afford a 100 dollar deck made of 3 structures and staples... It doesn't matter how talented a duelist Player B is... they are going to lose. That just makes the game pay to win and that takes all the skill out of it to me. Congratulations on using your Winged Dragon of American Express to attain victory. I hate this meta.

Bad players will spend the money to just be able to compete because they aren’t big brain enough to play a deck that can’t push through 1 or 2 interruptions

A suboptimal meta deck will probably give you the same bad winrate a full power rogue deck can offer, you might as well go for the rogue deck and pretend your loses come from the format and not you being bad at the game.

Or...just buy proxies cards and play with friends and family

Decks are definitely way too expensive but y’all should definitely learn how to make good trades to alleviate the prices
