My favorite part of GX was the guy becoming a gimp painslut and then spending an entire duel edging himself to a point he busts so hard his heart stops.
Months late to the party but thats why you dont say anything inferring you are suidical unless you are 100% sure. Law officers and hospitals dont play with that, everything that happen to her while admitted is common practice. Coder didnt do anything wrong in that aspect because, 1. He cant make the ultimatum that she even goes, her own words are what decided that unless you are completely out of it. Being drunk absolutely didnt help. 2. You have no idea how someone is going to react when they threaten to selfharm so a panicked response isnt so absurd. Probably not the first time shes threatened it before. That phone call doesnt happen that quick with someone you've known for a long time. Those 2 sounded awful for each other and this deadass shouldve stayed private
I think we need more less impact outs that cant be responded to, because making broken going second cards is not very useful if they can be negated anyway
Are you seriously asking why people playing this, watching that, or doing something something. It's their hobby, they are free to do whatever they feel like.
If this allows for a meta where I can reasonably play Dinomorphia or archetypes that special summon a lot from the hand or GY as opposed to the deck, then I'll put up with it. Like, surely Lightsworn will love this sort of meta. Don't they primarily summon a lot from the GY, or am I just forgetting shit again? And if i'm wrong and it doesnt become a main deck auto-include to sometimes cheese game 1 if you're going second, then we could run into a situation as well where this card falls in and out of the format depending on the best deck. Like, the GY/Banish variant that we'll surely get will be a check for metas where a GY heavy deck becomes meta again. I wonder how much could be resolved though if MR6 just allowed the going second player to do a london mulligan. We wouldn't even need to make cards like this if that were the case.
Has anyone ran the numbers at a YCS on if the winner of each duel went first or second? I'd be interested seeing that, seeing how bad the going first problem is.
tbh I rly like this card. Helps add power to going 2nd, and there are ways to put up interaction under this card without just losing. esp with cards like top hat hare now
In which decks, that's not just I:P + Backrow > Pass. You give your opponent 1 to 2 cards if you limit your play, and if you take the challenge, they're finding their out to play though their board. This card is insane.
@@larvatar2387 it is quite strong yes. But it helps going 2nd. Decks will need to change the way they're built to have lines under this. Decks like tear and vanquish soul can benefit a lot from this, but decks like SE not so much
I think if this card got you a +1 and allowed you to sculpt your hand, it would be just what we needed. However, you can sculpt your hand and drop hand-traps and then end on 7 cards in hand as a result of your opponent doing not very much. HOWEVER, this design could force people to consider moving away from combo entirely and Konami will start to make more decks that get you interruptions spells/traps without SS too much from deck.
I think the problem this highlights is that the going second player needs to be able to sculpt their hand for going first in 2024 to even be remotely fair. Konami just doesnt want to ban a hundred bosses and 1 card combo enablers, even though its what this game realistically needs. Part of that has to do with the fact that this is just Modern Yugioh's identity, a large percentage of people in the community like how crazy strong these cards are. Its Yugioh's niche.
Even if they do design new decks which are more spell/trap heavy it's still an issue. Since a bunch of old decks like blackwing, heros, RDA, etc are meant to be those decks which summon 20 times a turn. The game is special summon focused and konami gas to accept that. So instead of doing those stupid ass bandaids sollutions they just get their fucking ass up. Fire card designers who are to stupid to shit and hire new ones who know how to design combo/mid range decks in a healthy way without one card combo bs and being the most generic thing on earth.
@@bl00by_ they made those decks, and yet, no one play those in the TCG, because there is no reason not to play combo in TCG. There’s no Maxx C. There’s nothing giving people incentives to play anything other than combo unless the player themselves want to.
@@elainasjournal5734 Unchained and RACE were the best decks before PHNI and the banlist droped. Before that we also had Lab, Runick builds and Purrley. Just because currently most decks are combo decks doesn't mean that it's the norm. Heck if SE and Fiendsmith wasn't there I could see mid range/control decks being on a similar level again.
Imo that really just wouldn't have been good enough. There really did need to be a better hand trap into fiendsmith and snake eyes lines, and this at the very least is that. There's also more room to play around this than maxx c, just being deck and extra gives a lot decks the ability to make a small board with 1 to 2 draws instead of 3 to 4, which is a pretty huge difference. I could see good play reducing the win rate of this card going second down from 90% to 60-70%. Still a strong card, but maxx c it is not.
Alright the main problem with maxx c is in md and ocg is the resolve rate is abyssmall in 13% because it has to content with 3 ash 2 called 1 crossout, with chummy its 6 vs 6 with with the opposing players have do draw two preventer for the chummy because its twice per turn effects. We finally make going 2nd good.
@@r3zaful Exactly, the problem with Maxx C is that it doesn't resolve enough to make people actually care about it when they choose the deck they are playing. They just put in the Ash, the Called By and the Crossout to stop it from happening.
I haven't been in the ygo scene for like a year so I'm just finding out about this given Coder's "return". I've seen Coder's weirdness with Laura on stream in the past and all of it just makes sense now. I don't think this should have ever been public, Lofton is fked for that but at the same time I think people who follow Coder should know what he did. It's just a terrible situation.
did stevie purposefully pick cards that Duel Logs has obsessively tried to make work on stream? Because almost every card here i’ve seen a duel logs duel logs stream clip about LMAO
It should be 1 day . Best of 3 loser out winner continues tournament until we get the winner . People who qualify stage 1 but miss stage 2 day auto lose
