Hamas themselves decry anti semetism in their charter so even if the lie that the protestors support Hamas was true that would prove they also were against anti-semetism. The fact that this level of mask-off "I'm right you're wrong, no debate" authoritrianism, and refusal to engage with beliefs different to their own, has become so widespread, normal and acceptable, is deeply concerning. I suspect they often don't even realise the fact that they're adopting basically THE single most intolerant, authoritrian position you could possibly have, where submission, or violence, are THE ONLY options they leave on the table. This is maybe the most concerning aspect of The New Puritans- The ease with which they instinctively distort language and definitions, to justify their authoritrianism, and absolute intolerance of dissent; Any action they dislike (not ONLY on this issue, but also in enforcing their evidence-free pseudo-religion of sex-independent "genders", or even in racial politics) gets defined as "genocide", Making literally ANY action ""'justifiable""", in response. Same as how ANY dissent, or diversity of belief is (INSANELY ironically) defined as "fascism", in order to demonize and dehumanize anyone with different beliefs. Again, making literally ANY action justifiable, in their worldview. This is textbook stuff, for ANY of the most infamously authoritrian regimes of the past. Step 1- Redefine your enemy, and/or the enemy's actions, to dehumanize the enemy as something unambiguously despicable and indefensible- "Genocidal", "Zionist vermin", "fascists", "parasites upon the Aryan race", "imperialist enemies of the Soviet people", "Tutsi cockroaches", these labels ALL perform an identical function. Step 2. Adopt a "no debate" policy, to avoid having to justify your own position, and to FURTHER de-humanize your enemy; "They aren't worthy of treating as humans!", "Why would you ever lower yourself, by treating them as fellow human beings?!?", "These people DON'T DESERVE basic human rights, like free speech, equality, fair/equal legal treatment, freedom from violence....". [This "no debate" position ALSO makes it much easier to strawman your enemy, in the eyes of your own supporters; Your supporters never get a chance to hear the enemy speak for themselves- At best, they may get cherry-picked, out of context clips/quotes, presented in the most bad faith way possible. Or more likely, your supporters ONLY EVER hear your own strawmanned depiction, of the enemy's position and motives]. @@heftyind You're question quite usefully explains my issue because my point was nothing to do with all the things the guy got wrong it was that Bog didn't question his claims in the way that his game normally works. My criticism is the same whether I think what the guy says is true or not. From what I've seen of bog if he hadn't agreed with the guy he would have questioned the guy in order to satisfy his claim that his game is to find out why people think what they do not to persuade them otherwise.

I don’t always agree with Peter but I’m not sure I’m following what you mean with this comment? It’s as if some think in order to do something they have to be perfect, think of every possible interpretation and anything less is seen as intentional. Frankly I think the amount of overthinking going on in some ways with some things is absurd. Often times intentions and assumptions are assigned ahead of time. For example, I would say that most people in general do not support the mass unaliving of others yet I get the impression some think that most people do support it which is just absurd to me.

The interviewer put forward the proposition that the internet is a force for bad (or something like that) which Bog agrees with. The interviewer then asks him to steal man the proposal - which considering how many good things there are on the internet should be an easy task. Bog fails miserably. I don't think you're right if you're actually claiming that most people don't support mass unaliving? Don't you think most people support the bombing of Hiroshima, and war in general? Most people are not pacifists.

Here's a legitimate argument: Hamas started this war and are solely responsible for its continuation. They could release the hostages at any time and the conflict ends. They choose not to because they don't care about their own people and instead use it as propaganda to convince young ignorant westerners that genocide against Israelis is justified.

That is a textbook definition to what an uneducated fascist would say.
