Starts to make sense why thieves in other countries have their hand removed. It’s kind of amazing how many people didn’t learn the first rule of kindergarten, keep your hands to yourself!! Hope you get your things back buddy!
@@dave_n8pu Look at the weather in the video. By the time we see the video, any "plan" he may have had, probably already played out days or weeks ago. RU-vid is not live.
You handled that far better than I would of. With age comes wisdom. I'd say your perp lives close by, or friend of the thief does. Someone is watching your place.
@@heavyballs8458 ya but it isn’t live, not like they can see him coming and going. Absolutely disgusting that people feel they can just help themselves.
no one was hurt, everyone is safe & healthy. its just a trailer not something really important. I have lost important things. My Mom, My dad- both gone. My father in law to Cancer, 3 of my brothers to drugs and alcohol. Those hurt. This was just a trailer.
I literally just went through this exact trailer conundrum. I ran a dump trailer for six months and realized it was really impractical moving a skid loader and attachments. also as a one-man operation I was wasting a lot of my time running materials to jobsites when I should’ve been in the machine. Therefore I am now a flat deck trailer guy!
@@steves3688 This is LPL, and what we have to day is a click out of one, a set on two, and it's open and gone. Who has a battery operated sawsall now days? Every one has them and grinders to. Small trailers have a coupler bolted on, two wrenches takes that off and switched real quick. A smack or two will open 90% of locks now days. Just pull the cotter pin on the axel nut and remove a tire with the bearing inplace. Now try and take the trailer without a tire.
You work hard your whole life to have nice things and figure your stuff is safe up north in the middle of nowhere....nope...All it takes is a few scumbags to ruin an area, same thing happened to me in the Upper Peninsula. Until they’re caught and found out , it’s going to keep on happening.
I was bummed over this new thievery….it’s difficult not to go negative human after something like this. Then I remembered one of the reasons why I watch your vid‘s. It’s your positive outlook on life. Don’t lose that. Focus on the good things in life, like that spectacular opening nature scene you began with that you and many of us enjoy.
It's all about noise. You make everything impossible to get without making a lot of noise. Trip wires or other triggering devices for siren alarms is probably where I would go given the remote area your dealing with. The other thing is time. If it's going to take a long time to get something or if it what you did forces them make multiple trips they may well move on to easier marks. Your vulnerability is probably greater since they have had a chance to case the property. May want to consider arranging things in a way that changes their ability to exit the property in other ways too. One way in, one way out....In the most visible way you can create. Good luck with it all, that sh!t sucks.
Someone broke into my truck the other night, stole my Ryobi battery drills and some other tools too, also messed with the excavator ignition too Got to the job site and realised the key wouldn’t go into the ignition, had to tell the customer I would be back after I fixed it, thankfully didn’t take long and wasn’t far from home, felt crappy to at people mess with peoples stuff and lively hood
With all the d-bags you’ve been dealing with I think you’d be in a great position to try-out/review remote job site security camera solutions. I’m sure you’ve seen booths for them at the shows you’ve attended. I have consumer grade security cams that I like. But I’ve seen those job site type tower cams and have wondered how good they really are.
Yah, that and trackers. I have put semi hidden trackers on a number of vehicles including trailers, never needed them so far, but good piece of mind, cheap these days too given the cost of some of the equipment being used. Some of the systems even have tags for the attachments so if the attachment is no longer within range of the equipment you get an alert
@@Dirtmonkey how much is that brand new skid worth?,you didnt think you need security with expensive equipment around?,I said this in your other video when they got you, dude alot of people know you, alot of people know you got money and got nice equipment.would you be a target without the youtube channel???,yeah you would but your even more a target because of it.you realize for a couple buck's anyone can find out everything about you, every property you own....it sucks but man you got to tighten up stan....this is not a kind world we live in...sorry you have had some bad stuff happen but I appreciate your content and I hope this is the last time this happens
I am really ticked off that you are having problems with thieves. If they don't steal something, they leave it damaged. I am so sorry. I don't know how you stay so calm. That machine was digging that top soil up well. I enjoy watching that. Try to have better days ahead.😊🙏
no one was hurt, everyone is safe & healthy. its just a trailer not something really important. I have lost important things. My Mom, My dad- both gone. My father in law to Cancer, 3 of my brothers to drugs and alcohol. Those hurt. This was just a trailer.
@@Dirtmonkey yeah man, you work too hard for your stuff. You gotta get some better security for it. Wish people could just have respect for one another's property though.
There are many properties up north here in Maine, people just look for things to steal. Game cameras to watch your stuff and cameras to watch your cameras
To Answer your question, flat deck over dump trailer. It's not expensive to get material delivered; but it gets expensive to need your equipment hauled all the time.
I was going to say you can always build a box to hold a couple of tons of material. I did about a month ago for a ton of stone dust I needed for a small job.
Thieves suck. Sorry Stan....I hope there is a good ending to this. That attachment is indeed pretty impressive, filling the role of a few dedicated, single-purpose attachments and blending them into one. Total land clearing attachment!
They obviously know your place is prime picking you need to put a trail cam inside that garage hopefully will get a few snapshots next time around . Awesome piece of machinery hopefully wasn’t too expensive to repair
If they don't just steal the trail cameras too. Need a system that will store images off site or on some sort of cloud or remote access. Trail cameras don't do any good if they get stolen too
So to answer your first question of the video I'd buy a equipment trailer because I don't have a big need for a dump now if in a real view since I have an equipment trailer already id probably get the dump trailer for the reason of just not having to rent one anymore when I need it. And that brush cutter is really cool the more I see you use it the better I like it
I'm in the process of moving some equipment (haha, not anywhere near as nice as yours) to my 40 in the UP, hours away. I'll probably use signs and a cell cam or two to keep an eye on it, but I do appreciate seeing how you handle this and how you keep things in perspective in the big picture. Thanks....
It is very sad that you have been the victim of another theft. Here in Germany, many craftsmen have secured their trailers and vehicles with GPS transmitters, and motion sensors are often installed in the vehicles in case they are broken open.
You lose far to many pieces of equipment to thieves It's time to get serious and catch them. They make GPs devices for this purpose and you need to get them and start catching these bastards.!!!
"I love living in the sticks, you;ll never get me in the cities." A big Amen to that Brother. I was born and raised in NYC and I have always been a country boy now living in a small town in Utah.
Dude, we have wireless GPS units the banks make us put on all of our pieces that get sold through finance. I can talk to my sales guy and see what system they are. ETA; After noticing someone had messed with that machine, I would not have fired it up. Before checking everything.. Including the tanks, hopefully you have good locks on your caps and the rejects didn't throw some trash in there to be discovered later.
For a person with a lot of cameras, why not have a few cameras or a trail cam on your property? A gate across the entry lane might help. It will probably keep happening to you until you decide to take your security seriously.
@@Oddball_KellysHeroes trying to view lps at night will be an issue if you don’t have an anpr/lpr camera. The IR will refact off the lp causing a washed out image. You might be able to combat this with a non anpr/lpr camera if it has hlc capabilities, but that’s a big maybe. Just my experience dealing with this day in day out.
Time to setup a camera system. Wyze V3 base and battery powered cameras have an offline mode are small can hide em. Or a good old trail cam on the drive
I hate thieves. I spend hours of my life earning what I have. They are stealing that life energy I invested! Hard not to express myself without more colorful language when talking about thieves! You show heroic restraint!
Sorry about the trailer. Trailers are prime targets for thieves. We had one stolen and finally found it ourselves. Still took a while to actually get possession of it again. Laws can be complicated. Keep your eyes open because you will look for it a lot harder than the law enforcement folks. Stolen trailers are not high on their priority list and I guess I understand why with all of the other crazy stuff they deal with.
Also they sometimes steal the trailer in order to steal something else. Stan, the skylight from the ASV is likely on the ground near where it was parked if you didn't grind it!
My advice? Get some rottweilers. I think whoever is helping themselves to your stuff, they're probably up here and close to your place, stan. They know what you got, and they're honestly not afraid of prosecution anymore. Even defending your property is seen as controversial nowadays. Best of luck, man.
If the Rotties (or any dog) attack, he could very well get taken to court. And the dirt bags could get damages. The system stinks. He’s better off with sirens and lights and cameras. And locator trackers on his stuff.
That sucks why can’t people just leave stuff alone. Hope you manage to get it back and hope you catch these idiots who are doing this. Thanks for sharing this with us take care
I wonder if there is a way to put hidden GPS trackers on your equipment. it would be a small price to pay to be able to keep 100s of Thousands of dollars worth of stuff bit safer.
Hey Stanley nice to see the ASV in action - I finally got a reply from ASV not the best reply I would have expected !! What do you think ?? “Hello - We do not have machines certified for the UK. We are also not allowing any visitors into our factory until further notice . Thankyou, ASV sales Well there you go that says it all !!
It sucks to hear about the problems you've had with thieves. I love your videos and learn a lot from you that I'm hoping to implement into my own business eventually. As a side note from when you were unhooking your trailer, i use ZIP breakaway cables on my trailers and love them. It's makes it easier to get on and off and also i never have to worry about it dragging. You should check them out
Stanley! I love your channel. The camera shots and angles are awesome, great music and your editing is top notch! I love that your crew does a great job documenting their work. You give insight into everything you are doing and it is fun to watch and listen. Keep it up and have a great winter.
You need asset tracking devices attached to your equipment. There should be companies that do this in your area. If stolen the company locates it for you.
My company offers gps trackers for trailers and construction equipment. Very affordable and a great way to protect vehicles, trailers, generators, jobox, ect.
I value my flatbed equipment trailer. I fabricated 8 inch high removable sides down the length of the trailer and added 2 four foot high removable flip down doors on each side that flip down for work tables , also two removable barn style doors on the rear of the trailer. Also a removable leaf box for my truck loader, It can be changed around from my equipment and material hauler into a flatbed In 10 minutes. Being a one man business in the same trade I have to be able to do everything by myself. I've enjoyed your videos and learned a lot from all of the knowledge you have and share and have been able to fine tune my company into a money maker. Thank you and look forward to watching more!
Great video. Sorry your equipment has been stolen. Enjoy your channel. Thanks for posting videos. I know they take a lot of work and it's appreciated. It gives the viewer a glimpse in your work. Thanks again.
Time to install two bollards, steel braided cable and a lock across driveway (near road). The steep approach will discourage / delay thieves attempt to access the site. No one would want to stopped just off the road in plain view. Other protective measures depend on value of what you’re protecting
@@Dirtmonkey P.S, install a (solar panel powered) livestock style electric fence pulsator and connect that to your "fence & gate'. (it also works well with machinery that sits on rubber tires too - just make sure the "chassis stand" which holds up the drawbar - sits on a mat of rubber, and electrify everything not bolted down) 10,000 volts up some idiot's a-r-s (via their arms & legs) is a MAJOR deterrent if someone's trying to steal machinery or at an entrance gate - is trying pick (or bolt cutter) the lock
When you first got there I thought maybe previous owner? But after seeing your ASV it’s some a hole that’s looking for drug money. Might have to put a big ass log across the driveway.
Sorry about your equipment. YOU, of all people... do not deserve that or even had a tooth pick being stolen from you ... coming you way. You are so understanding, and you do so so much for this community. I have learned more from you than anyone on RU-vid.. seriously. I already had a ton of patio, retainer walls, etc experience.., but that was doing stuff for my parents.. still. I have personally laid about 12-14 tons of stone at my house any my parents. You wood be impressed with the paver work I did at my parents ( they also have a 18’x18’ walnut kitchen that is one of my masterpieces. Oh ! That track you had rolling during the ASV montage...that was good. 👍🏼👌
A guy in my area had his trailer and utv stolen here in Ky. had a tracker on it. The police used the tracker to follow and found it in Ms, a long with over 20 utv and many trailers and a couple of car that were stolen
When you asked dump trailer or flatbed. I will stay with my dump trailer. Ya it’s not the easiest thing but it’s helper me get more money out of some jobs.
Was it a Floe snowmobile trailer? After showing that company's owner on your other video at the trailer show, he probably decided to come back and take your trailer away, LOL. 😁
Dang Stan ….. sorry for the spate of bad luck and misfortune ….. I hope you soon locate and recover your missing property …. Keep a positive attitude, my friend ….
What you need is a hydraulic pillar concrete filled steel that raises 24" if an alarm is tripped, along with 2 full height permenant also concrete filled steel ones on each side in the driveway and it calls you or sends a text!
@@Dirtmonkey And some "thoughtful" positioning of what would (at first) appear only to be culverts coming out of the driveway banks, except they'd be 15" home made cannons - full of bent nails and all other forms of waste metal offcuts, (pre-loaded in there), fired out by some hefty LPG "shot-power" - triggered by IR beams, "fired" via a simple 12v spark plug system)
Hey Stan, we're forecasted for 1" to 5" on Friday down by southeast South Dakota.. 80 percent chance so far.. That sux about all the thieving going on! Hopefully you get your things back and the little basturds get caught.. Nice machine you got there 😎.. God bless brother and hopefully better days to come..
Hi Stan I think that attachment and machine has great potential for Firefighting (needs a water tank, pump and cab sprinklers)ie putting in fire breaks accessing roads after fires go through or fire ground regeneration like seed bed preparation thanks for a great video
I feel your pain. We had our trailer stolen, which they used to haul away a generator, tools, and some other items we had at the farm. Plus, they busted down the door to get into the barn. I hate thieves.
The locals have you pegged as a easy target. If they need anything, just go over to Stans and grab it. Maybe you will learn to lock everything up when not using it, just like the big cities.
This is what 3 timed you had something stolen man it sucks and hurts, had it happen once they stole 30 years of my dads tools and sold it under 10 minutes I finally finished re buying his collection after 6 years. Good luck to you don't let it get ya down !
"Who would come up here and take a trailer?" Probably the same people that have robbed you a dozen times before??? You give them the keys to the place when you show every bit of your property on your videos. So you really have only yourself to blame here. A simple lock on that garage door may deter them. Or even a cheap security system. I've never seen somebody get robbed as many times as you have and I was in private security for 15 years. Do yourself a favor and stop showing so much of your private space. It's like giving the blueprints to the vault to a thief. You're doing the work for them. Might be time to use some of that RU-vid money and build yourself a secure pole barn for all your toys.
@@Dirtmonkey Sometimes those are the perfect scenarios for a thief. Invest in some wireless cameras, some motion detectors, and some locks. You can get all you need for less than $1000. It'll save you tons of money in the long run, and give you some peace of mind. Plus, you may just catch one of these punks that keep ripping you off.
Man if I lived in Minnesota I’d definitely try to work wit you guys I’m a huge fan I love watching all you’re videos is fun, crazy after 15 years in the lawn and landscape world is my first snow season working skid steer I have been watching all your videos to learn and be a pro like you guys are, keep up the amazing and fun work God bless! Send some snow to Illinois so I can go out and have fun lol
I'm sorry to hear you had your trailer stolen. I've had 2 trailers and a tow dolly stolen from me this past year myself. Coupler locks, wheel boots, GPS trackers and trail cameras will probably be needed to protect the replacement equipment.
A few trail cameras set up around your building will help catch the dirt bags stealing your stuff. I'd aim one facing down the driveway to the building also.

Invest in the Fecon drum mulcher if you have a lot of that type work to do! Those units are tough as hell! Sorry to hear about the theft, you have a “friend” that knows to much about what you own and where you keep it! Thanks for posting the video!
Hi, question about unhooking your trailer from your tow vehicle. I saw you pulled your electric brake disconnect cable from the break away switch. I know this activated the brakes with the trailer battery, but I never saw that done before when unhooking from the tow vehicle. Once you reinstalled the clip and lost battery power to brakes, does the brakes still hold the trailer from rolling?
“I hate when people leave equipment running and walk away for twenty minutes.” I was doing a foundation in a development and the hole next to us had a roller in it and one of the dirt crew started it to warm up, forgot about it, and it idled until the next morning.
I know its a hassle but for smaller trailers I just jack them up and remove a tire or two and then put locking lug nuts on the studs - spinner type that pliers have a hard time with....and a good hitch receiver lock...or you can throw heavy manganese steel chains on the wheels(thru holes) to axle./frame and they have a hell of a time cutting them...I worked in a cirty where theft was an issue and I NEVER underestimate the thieves! THEY ARE EVERYWHERE!
