so true use to walk everywhere and once i just started driving everywhere instead of walking joints would hurt. Walking is best for recovery and keeping your body loose!
Man. If I had the money, I’d love to spend a few months working out with with you. 30 years old, been overweight my entire life, but absolutely love playing basketball not scared of going against anyone trying to guard anyone. Surprisingly I actually run long distance for fun and I usually out last people in better shape than me. I feel like a few months with you would transform me
Hey PJ, what’s your take on joint health post knee injury + surgery to repair a tear (meniscus, ACL, etc)? I know risk of arthritis goes up a lot from these injuries, and I’m sure what you said about not doing anything is probably not good either and could potentially wear down the joint even further. Just curious if you’ve seen any research on this, especially for NBA athletes post-retirement who’ve undergone one of those surgeries during their careers. Great stuff, always look forward to your videos!
@@totallyraw1313 I did. I usually avoid but I was suffering from daily sinus headaches and wanted to try anything. Do you think there's a link? I suffered with patellar tendinopathy for years stemming from a sudden increase in my squat training. In the year last year I have improved the pain and tolerance in my knee but the damage was done and on the day of my rupture I was cold and didn't warm up properly. I think these were the main factors tbh
I just finished Vert Code (Bodyweight). Before I started, my standing vertical was a 31. I went as hard as I could in every exercise and re-tested my vertical 2 weeks into phase 4. I measured at a 31.3 standing vertical. Will I see any major gains after finishing and resting?
Vert code is based around the approach vertical jump not standing. Standing vert gsins, comes from mainly strength gains, the approach vert AKA dunking is what his training is focused on and what you should want to improve You will never dunk from a stand still unless your like 6’6
@jboyandcroy Not true my friend is 5'11-5'10 and can dunk standing right under the rim. It just takes a lot of strength and power hes 150, of pure muscle and strong. I can dunk off 2 feet off a walk off with 1 and 2 hands at 5'10. You just got to get good sleep after IDEAL STRENGTH TRAINING otherwise you'll be fatigued constantly via your training and you'll plateau.
No, but you still gotta do a little more than you think you can. I have major chronic health issues that keep me house and even bed bound. Occasionally I'll be able to have a good day and go for a 2 mile walk. Maybe do some pushups and bodyweight squats. Other days I can't walk up a flight of stairs. I don't want to make any assumptions about you're situation, but you gotta make sure you're not being weak. It's okay to feel sorry for yourself, but you still gotta push through that and do what you can, when you can. Don't make any excuses. Only you will know what's legitimate. Just be honest with yourself.
