I think episode 4 is probably my favourite episode of heartstopper, it's defiently the most important one. Also I think episode 3 did have a happy ending, sure it wasn't all laughs & smiles but Charlie was finally able to open up to his family about his mental health and finally asked for help.

I think they wanted this season to feel like two parts, that’s why it felt like it could end on this episode. Both Kit and Joe said this (episode 4) was their favorite of this season and I can understand why. It was so well done. I loved seeing both POV’s. I was bawling when Charlie was telling his parents he wanted help and when Tao was comforting Nick at the party. Their relationship had come a long way since season 1.

The acting from all of them this season has just leveled up immensely. But I have to call out both Joe and Tobie. Tobie was given a lot more to do this season and he nails it. And Joe is just incredible this season, especially when he’s dealing with the emotional impact of his mental health issues. I’m just amazed by these people.

I suspect the mom knew something was wrong this whole time and Charlie wouldn’t tell her so it made her feel like a bad parent so to cope with it she tried to control other aspects to make herself feel balanced but it would make things worse I also think she may have been trying to put space between Charlie and Nick because the eating disorder got worse after they started dating he got to the point where he wasn’t eating at all so she thought she was helping him

That is kinda how I see it! I do think she wants the best for Charlie but isn’t sure the right way to go about it
