Yu-Gi-Oh has itself a new Banlist for the April Format... OH BOY!!!!!! Konami just, just did AMAZING with THIS ONE!!! ...yeah. #yugiohtcg #banlist #reaction #discussion #april2024 #tcgbanlist #new #majespecterkirin #thunderdragon
I can explain some of the new banlist. I don't agree with konami's decisions, though. The hits I do agree with are Baron, Savage Dragon, Summon Limit, Anti-Spell. Reason being that they're all way too generic. Basically every end-board I was seeing sits on Baron, Apoll, and Savage... no matter what deck it was. It simplified the game into "did you draw the out or enough generic low-cost starters?" The floodgate traps were similar, in that they could be thrown into any deck, and made any board all-the-more oppressive when you put a bunch of negations up then flipped summon limit on your opponent. I disagree with Protos and Colossus for similar reasons. Konami is mistaken in their thinking that those monsters aren't generic. There's also a big meta-focus problem here. While these cards are being reintroduced to fight against the fire decks, Konami is forgetting that Protos and Colossus oppress non-meta decks just as much.
I’ll just preface this by saying I’m probably just ranting because I’ve thoroughly disagreed with the idea of banning Linkuriboh ever since the idea came about. It’s quite a stupid bandaid fix for a meta with a clear problem. The problem of the current and recent formats isn’t just the generic extra deck monsters, but rather powerful engines that don’t inhibit /lock players into not making those generic good stuff boss monsters. This ends up giving decks with the ability to mass generate resources, access to almost any generic good stuff card ever printed. If the deck can make enough materials off of minimal starting card this exemplify the problem of cards not having restrictions. I like trying to do interesting things with generic cards don’t get me wrong, but this isn’t the first “build a board” deck we’ve seen. From back with Super Heavy to now with Snake Eyes. If you have enough materials and the rifht cards, you too can end of 5+ negates made of almost entirely generic monsters. Anyway now actually onto the topic of Linkuriboh. I don’t see how Linkuriboh was a busted Link 1 until Snake-Eyes, an archetype that is built on sending their level 1’s to the GY, came into existence. Snake Eyes is one of the only archetypes that was able to actually abuse how Linkuriboh works. The deck is just able to use both of Linkuroboh’s effects rather effectively and easily. Generally Linkur was just usable as an extender in a handful of decks to enable certain lines. It was used as a way to get a level 1 or token off the board for their benefits. Which admittedly Snake-Eyes did like every other deck that was using Linkuriboh, but the difference was how impactful the Snake-Eye cards actually were compared to the typical stuff. And I’ll admit I might be a bit biased towards not wanting it banned because it was a really useful card to have in orcust. I honestly am sad to see it go because of the comfy 1 card combo lines it gave with just girsu in specific. But it doesn’t really matter you can still do the Girsu lines with other link 1’s like Link Spider or Imduk, but Linkuriboh was just the best of the options available. Point being, Linkuriboh is not the only card capable of being used generically and it’s absolutely is not destroying this meta or any other previous metas. It’s honestly just an average card compared to the likes of knightmare mermaid or linkross were doing. This is mostly just Konami refusing to hit their cash cow meta deck in the current format, and would rather bandaid fix the problem by hitting all of the generic cards around the issue than solve the actual problem. It’s quite sad honestly and there’s nothing any of us can do about it. Im sure Linkuriboh will return eventually, once snake eyes is no longer tier 1 there will be less of a reason to have a banned link 1 that only works with level 1 monsters. Sorry if that was wordy but honestly, this link 1 ain’t busted nor is it the correct ban list hit to “fix” fire format’s snake eye problem, chief.
I'M MALDIN' OVAH HERE!!! ...okay but honestly: Kuriboh's been my favorite deck for years, and seeing ANY of them on the banlist would've sucked for me. Linkuriboh hurts alot here, since I made the little guy the channel mascot.
@@TheMemphisxlr8 I can understand this way more than the essay above And I can relate, I was down in the trenches a couple years ago when everyone was saying Branded (my fav deck) was gonna get hit. Unfortunately Linkuri was not only a super splashable card, but it was also letting the Tier 0 deck evade a 2nd piece of targeted interaction.
If its any constellation I don't feel good about the link 1 guy being banned either this ban list doesn't like a W for me with engage being at 3 Konami we'll never forgive you for this treachery B(
What did Linkuriboh do to deserve this?😫 More importantly what did Linkuriboh do that Relinquished Anima doesn't also do? To be clear Linkuriboh's banning is because of allowing for the easy use of Snake Eye Poplar's grave effect.
Linkuriboh does a lot more than anima. Dodging targeted negation is a big one but there’s more: Allowing heatsoul lines Protecting I:P, S:P, and Appo from battle Essentially link summoning itself from grave for that much more grind game Downward pointing arrow To say anima does the same as Linkuriboh is incredibly inaccurate and honestly ignorant, are we playing the same game? 😂 that said, I agree that it shouldn’t have died for snake-eye’s sins
@@YuniversalYT Thanks for the information. I don't claim to be a yugioh master especially since I have never been to a tournament and haven't played Snake-eye, so my knowledge was that Linkuriboh was played instead of or more often than Relinquished anima because Linkuriboh was better going first and Relinquished anima's effect isn't always usable, even when going second. That was the extent of my knowledge on the matter.
Don't give up Memphis I know it hurts but you must truck on for the card game There will be a time where they hit snake eyes directly and then maybe and this will probably be a big maybe Konami will unleash you're boy from jail he should of not been thrown in prison for the snakes sins though :(
now you play 1 terraforming with 1 chicken game and 3 upstart for 35 CARDS rip linkuriboh, for the record its not because of any meta thing kind of. Its cause basically a lot of decks run it in the extra decks so therefore its not ok? dumb. Anyway you will be missed
