The thing with Bezos is I think he’s very well aware of his reputation and knows he is evil but doesn’t really care (because why would he) but Elon is a narcissist who thinks everyone loves him and wants to be like him
I don't think he cares what normal people think, but he wants to be liked amongst the popular crowd and by his barbie fiance. If he didn't, he wouldn't have put on 30 lbs of muscle and went on like a $ 2 B shopping spree since cheating on his wife who didn't care about that stuff.
@@1870dav To be fair, I think it's a lot more common to want to be liked by people you know and are close with than by random people. Shit if I was worth $100B I'd be roided up with the best drugs money can buy too.
@@kaboomkp Fair. Though he didn't seem to really operate that way for the 1st 20 years of being a billionaire. But I guess multibillionaires' mid-life crises hit differently than normies. Ha.
As a communication major myself, a couple options besides PR that you could look into. - training and development (what I’m in) - brand management - community managers (think like for video game companies) - social working Good communication skills are a highly sought after in every industry. My company would LEAP OFF A CLIFF if it meant getting a single person with good communication skills into their management teams.
Interviewing people on their deathbeds really is a case of survivorship bias. People whose dying regrets are that they didn't work harder or they dropped out of school are less likely to have the privilege of dying on a deathbed.
Your comment assumes that these people are dying of old age. The author was in the field of palliative care; going to see those diagnosed with terminal illnessess that will kill them soon and had gone home. These aren't necessarily people in retirement homes, they aren't even necessarily old.
On the off chance the Communications degree graduate sees this, the secret to leveraging the degree is to learn something you want to get a job in through self-study, and then heavily frame your application/interview around your ability to communicate well. There is not a **SINGLE** high paying job where communication isn't one of, if not the most important skill.
100% this and I wanted to emphasize that you are not strictly limited to "traditional" journalism/communications positions. I graduated with a communications degree and thought data was cool, so I went down the data science/analysis path. At the end of the day, data is just information but a lot of people don't know how to harness it for their organization. Find something that interests you and you can absolutely make it work
+1 to the majors thing- transferrable skills are where it's at. Animal science degree-even worked on a pig farm in college. Now I'm a executive assistant @ a big banking firm
I did a course over investment in the UK and it prominently featured something called "gilts" and it took me half the course to understand that they are literally just telling me stuff I know from Atrioc but using a different term for government treasuries 💀
a 2024 communications and info sciences graduate here! Just a few industries I considered when job searching/ jobs I value within communications: broadcast news writing and production (including radio), creative news media (documentaries, filmmaking), publication writing, PR, social media, communications management (non-profit is excellent work), ofc sales, copywriting, and other non-traditional forms of media such as podcasts, long-form content creation (youtube, etc), broadcast within e-sports and entertainment. all obviously require a portfolio and the 10,000-hour practice rule (journalism needs a reel, management roles need experience, proficiency with AP or Adobe, etc.), but these are all positions a communications degree prepares you for!
The last part of the video where you talk about people regretted not spending time with their family, and no one said they wished they worked more. Well that sounds a lot like the song “Busy Man” by Billy Ray Cyrus. You should check it out. It’s a really good song.
Yo big A I heard you talking about how this channel has been a big success and you mentioned a few reasons which im sure are all true, but i think you are missing one big one! Many of us clip watchers are more clip listeners. Your main channel vids usually need us to watch along too, be it MM or hitman. But clips can be more like a podcast. Either way, I love them!
if that guy reads this, comm is super useful in government, even outside hr, apply to a city/state/fed job at a generic entry position and look for opportunities once you're in, there will be a ton
We've known(by internet standards) this for awhile but having to admit to it is a whole new level of humiliation How can someone so rich be so miserable lmao
About the communication degree guy. I have a question. How do you study for something and not know what openings to get? In my mind, you first choose what job/s you want and then study what suits that goal best. Or is it that they only found out PR (the one they mentioned) was hell after studying?
Dude was writing Fizz guides and following his dream to work in the gaming industry and grinding to get to where he is. He is giving you advice that worked for him.
@@SilharaTheChosen yea, the bigger problem ends up being he is a tad abnormal, you lose the public the moment people cant stand how obnoxious you are. Even now, people can only just barely stand to read the slop he posts, soon he is gonna have to insert his tweets over others like ads to get others to read them.
Can't say Elon isn't doing billionare things. He turns his hobbies into companies and companies into his hobby. Shooting rockets, digging holes & zapping peoples brains sounds way more interesting than wrestling, farming and basketball. But that's just me (and Elon's alt)
They say that if you love what you do you'll never work a day in your life. Meanwhile I'm dodging work with social media. Elon decided to turn his passions into work and is now dodging his passions with social media. Guess he still hasn't worked a day in his life though so 🤷
i dont think buying the right to call yourself a founder and then pretending you know how things work when you have to poach engineers and live of off goverment subsidies is "turning your hobbies into companies", esp because he didnt make most of those companies. not that he really works there anyway, he just spends all day tweeting "interesting" at fascist propaganda and misinfo while whining about "the woke mind virus" ands hit like that. also idk how digging tunnels sounds that interesting to you, esp considering his tunnels/what he uses them for are ass
like @jwats said, i think it's cause specificity turns away potential viewers who don't know that person, while being vague means it can be anyone (ignore the thumbnail lol). I believe it was smallant who talked about this at some point, but even if it wasn't him, his (and others) titles which format like 'this speedrunner thought I ___' are apparently better than '*insert specific name* thought I ___'
You know, those Ukrainian bonds don't sound all that bad, not from a wise investment point of view, but from a more if they win the war then I have helped them out directly a bit, as much as one guy can, and if they don't or they default after the war, then I wouldn't mind as much, because its a cause I genuinely believe in supporting, plus if they don't default, 40% return is also massive. Doesn’t seem like I lose anything.
Every single thing he does is such loser behavior. But he still has his sycophants because there will always be people who don’t do anything worthwhile who want the validation that massive wealth brings
People think that him being the poster child of neuralink, space x and tesla makes him responsible for all of those companies achievements, even though it was mostly done by the actual geniuses working for him while he sits on twitter writing this sad shit on his burner
@@HyperKryst as a former Elon Musk admirer (back in 2016), it’s an easy trap to fall into. The media is very convincing and people are looking for hope (including myself)
the difference between these billionaires they do it for themselves and future generations but elon is the kinda guy that would dumb billions to say just for the meme
0:50 No I get Elon on this. All that seems worthless to me. Except maybe a healthy application of steroids if that exists (though maybe not even, doesn't feel earned probably). Financing space exploration (which is clearly what the dream was). Taking control of a majorly relevant social media platform hoping to shape it to your ideals. Being publicly likable (his perception). Working on the things you're interested in. Chatting with engineers about their projects. Especially getting down into the nitty gritty which is probably entirely counter productive for a CEO. Seems WAAAY more appealing than all of that spend, live in luxury, enjoy the company of beautiful women who probably don't care much for you personally. Family life is also up there and it's not easy. I mean especially when you've been busy with companies and making wealth. Presumably you have plenty of lopsided relationships you can't trust. Can't be easy to remain a good person (but I don't think Elon started there). I'm not simpling for Elon I promise. I think he's a terrible person in just about every way. I even disliked him during the major portion of SpaceX fame. He just didn't take the responsibility he has seriously which has only gotten more evident since. But that doesn't mean you can't have sympathy for some of the choices and situations. I mean Bill Gates seems to have lived it right moreso. I'm not arguing he's some supreme philanthropist who does everything perfectly right. But it's easy to see that his pursuits should affect him positively. And a stable relationship. To a point, 27 years isn't bad considering how late they married.
Bro this man hates Elon so much he had to talk about an account called « test musk » like fucking obviously it’s an extra Elon account you’d have to be kind of a re re to not see it
It’s crazy people will even defend Elon Musk for stuff like this lmao. Elon was obviously trying to hide the account that’s why he only admitted it was him under threat of perjury. How could you defend this obviously sad narcissistic man child?
Yeah, everyone knew it was an alt but it’s even funnier now that it’s 100% confirmed his. It’s incredibly deranged and pathetic to mock your ex on a twitter alt and refer to yourself as “Mr Tesla”
I like Big A’s content because I know he’s actually speaking his own opinions. F trying to constantly climb the never ending ladder to get money and spend more times with people who will make you happy. If you can’t do that now work to a point where you can. I know I’m trying to
