Great review! I just got the Great Joy 50mm a couple of days ago and will be using it with the 6k Pro. I saw your reviews of the Great Joy collection and the reviews inspired me to get one. I also picked up the Tenba doctor bag case. Your reviews are always informative and bring new products to my attention. I really appreciate the videos and they are very informative.

I’d love to get the 65 at some point! Agreed with you on the flares too. I find the silver to be more manageable but still can be a tad harsh depending on the situation. The proteus on the other hand…chefs kiss

I just bought Great Joy 50mm Anamorphic on sale. It was half the price and I took the opportunity. Can't wait to get my hands on this one! I like the Laowa build, & they would've KILLED IT if to was 1.8 I'm going to stay with Great Joy for now and hopefully get the rest of the fleet in soon. That's a plan ; ) nice to know, thanks for the video.

Awesome video man! I’ve just splurged on the 27/35/50 set (in silver) and will be doing a review video soon with my Komodo, so looking forward to that. Agree with all of your points, the main thing that drew me to these lenses was the form factor as now it’s much more accessible to shoot anamorphic in a smaller run and gun setup. Also the 1.5x being just enough, but not too much too!

I bought the 27,35, 50, and 80mm lenses in PL Silver. Didn't feel I had a use for the 65mm in my kit. I use a Fujinon Wide-angle adapter to widen the 27 and a Rapido +.5 Achromatic filter to complete this kit. I really enjoy using these lenses and I come from using anamorphic projection lenses.

At 1:56, you have a caption mentioning a fix for the changing squeeze ratio of the Great Joys. Were you referring to the 50mm itself or that the other lenses in the set released with content squeeze ratios? Thanks!

Thanks a lot!! I actually don't use Gyro, I prefer to use IS lenses when I can or try my best to be stable when shooting handheld with cine glass.

Hi, I do have the Fuji Xh2S. I would love to try the anamorphic world but I have NO clue what to get. Of course it should be affordable and with a squeeze factor as high as possible. Do you have some recommendations for me because there is no shop I could ask in my town? Best regards Claus

I have both so I will keep both as I think they each have their pros and cons. One is 1.5, the other 1.8. One is S35, the other FF, so they both have their use :)

@@OfTwoLands which one would you say has more anamorphic characteristics on S35 would you say? I noticed you had a wider than 2:35:1 aspect ratio on your Great joy footage. I mainly care about bokeh, a bit of distortion/vignetting on the side, less about flares.

Do you find that the SmallHD monitors shift heavily to green, especially in the shadows, when using it with Blackmagic cameras?

Never noticed, and you can adjust the tint in both the camera and the monitor :)

Not sure if we can trust your review since it seems that all the anamorphic lenses you have reviewed were given to you to keep (ie. Laowa, Great Joy, etc). Sure, you say that your review is impartial, but it is easy to claim this. Also, how do us viewers know if your sample footage are really from the lens that you are reviewing and not from another lens that produced the great images?
