Oh my gosh poor girl... EDIT: He did not smack her butt, that was my fault on not seeing it correctly. But I still stand by him being awful and disgusting for forcefully kissing her
While this is WAY over the line, and he should be reprimanded, fined, and she could surely get something for her troubles, you guys are blowing it WAY more out of proportion. He did something wrong, it was disgusting and disrespectful. I'd fucking hate it myself, male or female. However, the kiss was between a peck and a real kiss. Still disgusting. And there was no "butt smack" he claps her on the back, as you do to any player after you're like "good job dude" while they are leaving. To me it honestly seems like there is no sexism involved (unless this is never ever done to men), but rather just a wildly inappropriate celebratory kiss, which is still not okay. Especially, as he grabbed her head and basically made it close to impossible for her to pull away.
Also, for the people that say in Spain we kiss all the time: of course it's not like that. People normally give two kisses on the cheeks, and it's not even a kiss. We put our cheeks together and make the "smooch" sound, so it's not even a real kiss, much less any similar to what this creep did
This might sound weird af, but my parents' friend group has had a few moments of intense joy where they would kiss in the mouth (I was told that when talking about this case), married guys and gals celebrating. With that in mind, even knowing this could be a response to joy in very intimate cases, it doesn't even come close to what happened here. This wasn't a peck. It wasn't mutual. The amount of people excusing it in comments of other videos is so gross. Imagine your boss fully kissing you and then strangers on the internet being like “He was just happy!” “She was smiling!” “It’s like you can’t even celebrate anymore” like damn lol
@uh4875 what did Trump do? Genuinely I have no idea lol as far as I know he was just kinda mean. I'm more scared that the persecution of a political opponent is being celebrated by many Americans. That's dangerous precedent to set. I really am a centrist and I see the left as the more corrupt and dangerous party for sure.
This shit is getting out of control.. Even with video evidence they still blame the woman for being assaulted. Thank you for being the voice of reason.
HAH FRR NOT JUST A SIMPLE KISS EITHER LIKE BOTH HAND ON UR HEAD PUSHING U TO KISS HIM liikeee gthat shits violating i hadda guy do that once n it literally felt like i had no choice but to kiss him
this is so disgusting to witness, and even more disgusting to know there are people defending this and acting like it's okay. no, it's not being "sensitive" to say that it's gross to kiss someone without their consent in front of millions of people. it's honestly scary knowing how many people are just willing to bat an eye to this and let it go.
A little of piece of advice for you Gen Z boys... If you aren't a woman, stop using "disgusting" to describe anything you find objectionable. We straight men look at you differently when you use it.
ON THE LIPS no less 😭 i’m not a hugger - even with my closest friends - but if i were in her position and had just been hugged, i wouldn’t be mad at all. that’s a perfectly normal reaction to being proud of someone and feeling overwhelmed with excitement. kissing, on the other hand, is so obviously too far and not a natural response for most people, no matter where it happens - but on the lips? i think i would kick him in the groin out of instinct if he did that to me. i’m shocked he hasn’t already been forced to resign because of the whole orgy thing since, morality aside, huge companies and organizations usually have a much lower tolerance for losing money than for sexual harassment & assault. and like some other commenters mentioned - if this is what he does in 4K, then what’s he like in private? i wouldn’t be surprised if that mf is all sorts of touchy-feely when the HD cameras aren’t rolling & he isn’t surrounded by a huge crowd.
Recently, I was kissed by a strange man without my consent while I was just walking down the street. I froze up and my mind just shut down. It was absolutely terrifying and I felt really violated. Like, after that happened, I wanted to rub the skin off of my face because i felt disgusting and humiliated. All of this to say, I really feel for this woman. We need to completely end this culture of predatory behavior to women. I hope she has people in her life that support her in this situation.
I feel you girl! I had a grown male customer give me a sloppy wet kiss when I was working as a hostess. I was SEVENTEEN. Ruined my entire week, I felt so violated
The sheer violation, humiliation, and disrespect this woman faced makes me nauseous. This moment, which should be one of her most victorious, is now forever tainted because some old impulsive creep decided to act on his entitlement. It is disgusting.
I’m Australian, I’ve loved this World Cup so much, the Matilda’s have done so well and the Spaniards deserve this win so much and I’m appalled that this happened and that it took away from the event
Appalled by a man making a move on a woman? The only reason Hermoso was "repulsed" by it was because the Spanish media and her teammates pressured her into changing her stance. Her initial reaction was one of indifference. When you like a girl on a date, you don't ask to kiss her. You read her body language and make a move.
This guys defended his actions by saying it was due to the euforia of winning the world cup and that he felt like doing it. Imagine your company celebrating great results and the boss going to the sales team and kissing the women in the lips due to "euforia". No boss of any company would be able to do that and get away with it. As a Spaniard this is so shameful, to see my country in one of Charlie's videos for this horrible reason. Edit: congratulations to the women's football team for the incredible achievement! The whole nation is proud of you!
@gharnsnatch4088Would love to see how you express yourself in a language that's not your own, mate. Instead of shitting on someone for misspelling one word maybe you should focus on learning a new language yourself.
@gharnsnatch4088 Bro what you even mean? Education in this country? OP is Spanish, Correct me if I'm somehow miraculously wrong, but I'm pretty sure English isn't the first language in Spain.
Being from spain is so sad to see that this kind of guy has any kind of position of power, not only what he did but how he justifies himself and lies time after time. Damn its so embarassing
@@warlordofbritannia It's even more wild that people are DEFENDING HIM, like what? How can anyone possibly defend a coach kissing a player without permission, it's so stupid.
What is even sadder is the people in the replies trying to pass it off as a thing that happens all the time being blown out by foreigners. Spanish people were the first to be outraged, the team is protesting it, the woman herself said it was gross, the acting president made a statement against it, any spanish association that isnt buyed out by him has denounced him, what other spanish people should say that it was not a normal "tradition" for them to be satisfied? Do we reanimate Pelayo to ask him? Its baffling how anyone can think of the man who has accusations of syphoning money to finance his sexual degeneracy in parties attended by known tax-evaders is somehow a more reliable source than a 4k video of the transgression corroborated by the people who where there to witness it.
This happened to me at a concert when I was a teen where some random guy ran up to me, manhandles my head, and kissed me on the head multiple times before scurrying away. It felt extremely violating to my personal space and embarrassing to me even though no one else saw it, so I can’t even imagine how Hermoso felt with this happening in front of the entire world watching when it should have been a happy, celebratory time for her
you have no idea what women go through. If you had sisters, or sisters that trusted you enough to share stuff with you, you wouldn't be so dumbfoundingly ignorant. Women go through this constantly, grow up man.@@NoName-tr3vs
@@NoName-tr3vs exactly what do they gain by making this comment to you? why are you this mindless that you think a comment of someone sharing their story is somehow mischievous...
It’s worse than that, he’s being supported by the press over there. Because boys will be boys, amirite??? Seriously though, this is gRape culture in action.
The worst part is knowing that there will be some twitter troglodytes that will defend this and say she's just being "woke" or something as corny as that.
Some people in the comments are already doing just that. I see terms like "American ignorance" already, ignoring the fact that many SPANISH women are the ones protesting.
Reminder that it doesn't matter in the court of law what his intentions were. Sexual assault is the act, not the thought process. Mouth on mouth contact can inherently be considered sexual in a situation where consent was not given.
yeah, nevermind the journalists that go to countries in conflict, the goober that sits in his room and rambles for 10 minutes is totally "carrying the journalism industry".
I watched it as an english fan and thought it was crazy to see, also very sad that the other spanish player found out her father had died after winning but I was accused of being bitter about England losing for bringing it up. I wish Rapinoe would keep out of it though, the US women's team have been completely classless with their attitude in tournaments for years.
@@jar207I want you to mention male sexual assault at any single time other than to take the spotlight away from a woman who has actually been assaulted.
I, and other women I’ve know have been through similar situations. In school, we were groped and kissed without consent and when we would tell an adult, we would be criticized for “wanting it” even as early as middle school. Misogyny is deep rooted and won’t be fixed anytime soon.
@@FirstLast-yr9kxthey literally said that they tried to tell adults and they sided against them. Next time read the comment before replying. Also, if you think the coach had the right to grab the player and kiss them like that then you already lost.
thank u moist someone with a brain and a heart. dude is gross as hell, and an example of the kind of BS a lot of women go through. I got sexually harrassed at my old job by someone who was at the company for 40 years and well known/important to them. When i spoke up about it my immidiate close co workers and boss agreed it was disgusting and helped me but a higher up defended the man and even told me it was my fault…idk why this reminds me of this. I kinda burried the memory after i left but seeing u talk about it im like wow this was not chill…it wasnt my fault…
Can you elaborate? It sounds to me like you've embellished the details of your particular situation. Sexual harassment to a lot of "women" these days means "he asked me to dinner." If your situation constituted sexual harassment, you needed to get law enforcement involved. I know you like playing video games, but this is real life.
That was something I realized very early on in my childhood. Powerful and rich people can get away with anything they want and it’s sickening. We live in a corrupt world that’s ruled by the wealthy
We live in a world where some men can get accused on zero evidence while they have an airtight alibi, and it sticks so hard their life is ruined. And then this guy can get caught, not only in 4k, but have millions of people watch him do it *as it happens* and he still gets away with it.
we live in a world where women, with DNA evidence, report rape and never get taken seriously. you seriously agenda posted on this? guys what about MENS RIGHTS? who will think of the men?
@@griggletv6974people don't defend him because he is rich, people are defending him because they think unwilling/non-consensual intimacy is perfectly fine.
@brandan5708 If you don't think his wealth and power are not used to getting away with s assault then you are dumb and you missed the point of me being sarcastic
I hate how there is people (mostly men) who are saying that she enjoyed it because she wasn't pushing him away...... you don't understand that 1; it was a moment of joy so she was barely registering anything 2; being assaulted takes time to process specially when it's so sudden and infront of so many people. the fact that she was asked to "aliviate" the pressure on him is a clear proof that HE KNOWS HE DID SOMETHING WRONG. Mad respect for every female player who is refusing to play until there is justice.
@@notedjog9haha, what a funny guy you are. man, you have all my homies laughing. Anyways, you'd better get back to your homework. Your parents probably work very hard for you to have the best life you can so don't take it for granted little buddy
Can you truly, with official numbers, confirm “mostly men”? Or are you just being sexist and adding to the problem? PS: I’m a male and I’m not defending him.
@@carlc4564 well, to be fair to them. The only presenters I've seen covering for him are men. When he announced that he wouldn't be stepping down I literally only saw men applaud. In these comment sections there are people with usernames with male names who defend him. Note that they said it's mostly men that are defending him, they didn't say most men. It's an observation, not a statistic. I wouldn't call that sexist as it doesn't generalise men, it doesn't say it's exclusively men, and it doesn't degrade men.
In college, some guy that wanted to go out with me decided to do the exact same thing. He asked if I liked him, I thought he meant in a platonic way since we were friends and said yes, and he essentially licked my face trying to force a French kiss onto me. While he didn’t grab my head, he pressed his hands against my back to push me into him in order to try to get a better kiss. We aren’t friends anymore. I KNOW how it feels to have some creep force a gross, sloppy kiss on you. I washed my face twice a day for a week afterwards and felt completely unsafe around men for a long time. It’s not just about the unsolicited kiss; it’s about the trauma behind it as well. Jennifer’s definitely having a hard time right now because she must be feeling just as I did: Unsafe and violated. I hope things get better for her...
I’m sorry that disgusting creep did that to you. It feels so disgusting when a person violates you. The good thing is, most guys I’ve met haven’t done that to me. But the ones that do, make you feel terrified and disgusted.
I dealt with a similar situation when I was 13. He was my boyfriend at the time, but the farthest we had done was cuddle. We were cuddling on the couch watching a movie when he whispers in my ear, lingering his hands on me. "I don't want to take advantage of you," he said, very creepily. Well, at the time, he wasn't touching me inappropriately, so I said, "you're not?" He took that as an opportunity to immediately start groping my chest. All I could do was sit there. And needless to mention the countless times he had kissed me after I told him no and tried to touch my crotch after I was very explicit with being uncomfortable with it. I said I didn't want him to touch me and he did it anyway.
I'm sorry you had to go through that - at least it's very relieving to see that there aren't any victim blaming replies to this comment, unlike most others. Yet. : ( Edit: not for long >:(
I'm so sorry to hear that...😓 Mine isn't as serious, it was a confession and even though I said no and ran in, he followed me to my room and try was laughing and giggling. I was laughing but in a VERY uncomfortable way and I was about to cry I tried getting away from him and sad no and even got a hanger as a defense weapon to put some space between us. We were living in the same neighborhood and I think of him as a friend at first, but after that he creeped me out so much I got traumatized with boys and never see him again. I was lucky I ran out and my grandma returned and I pretended nothing happened but it made me lose my appetite for 2-3 days. Also, he was 14 and I was 11! It was the most scariest day of my life. It is a bit blurry now but he definitely tried to pin me trying to stop me from going away and backing away from him. NO..IS NO AND HE TRIED GETTING PHYSICAL
It was hardly ruined. She knows him well, and, but for the media influencing her to repudiate his advances, I could see them dating. You need to calm down.
It is insane how this man treats women like objects and how he thinks everything he does is valid. These women clearly are in danger and we need to fix that.
@kingdoingstuff people on here can read minds. They see a short and know everything. It's fcking insane how intelligent people are on youtube. They know when I'm going to take a sh't next, mind blowing intelligence.
What he did is obviously horrible but to extrapolate it to "these women clearly are in danger" is the sort of crap that his defenders laugh at his detractors about. Yes he's a creep, yes he's probably a narcissist based on his response, but he kissed a player at the height of emotions on live TV. He's outed himself. It's not like he's prowling around the women's changing rooms looking for Spanish players to SA.
This situation is super bizarre, yesterday Rubiales' mother went on a hunger strike to protest against those who attack her son, stupidity runs in the family
This is so unbelievably disgusting. How could anyone treat a woman like this, let alone do this to an award winner athlete on national TV. How depraved do you need to be?
@@wkeezz yeah because in a situation where a woman was sexually harrassed it's more important to find a situation where it was the other way around to demonstrate women are as bad as men. bruh.
