Hey Jim, set a steel t-post right next to the pipe and tie off the PVC to it with hose clamps. You new connection is “Preloaded” a bit so you will probably revisit this at some point.

The good thing it is the summer time - I hate finding water leaks in the winter time. Also, those small trail bikes are a lot of fun. I had a Honda 50 mini trail bike back in the early 70’s - so much fun. Hope you are enjoying your birthday present 🎁.

Hey guys... A plumber here in Florida, told me several years ago that you should use CPVC if its going to be buried in the ground. That it holds up better then PVC buried in the ground, and that PVC becomes brittle after a while. Just passing on some information from a Florida plumber.. NOW DIG A POST HOLE NEXT TO THE PCV PIPE, THEN PUT A GOOD CEDAR POST NEXT TO THE PCV PIPE AND MOUNT THE PCV PIPE TO THE CEDAR POST... You will never break that pipe as easy again... Wherever you have a water pipe coming up out the ground you should ALWAYS have a Red Cedar post there to mount the water pipe too... That's how we did it in Missouri. Every farmer always did that and we all used a Red Cedar post because they seem to never rot, and it grew almost everywhere..... A little prevention saves headaches and backaches latter on... I really enjoy y'alls videos, thanks for sharing them. Be blessed in Jesus name... BBE..

I find it helpful when putting plastic pipe together to rough the inside of the couplings and the outside of the adjoining pipe with a fine sandpaper. This helps the glue to adhere better especially if the pipe has any pressure applied. Happy Birthday, Lidia!

Hey neighbors, Awesome Birthday present, definitely need that in the country. Yeap, I got hit with a high water bill last winter after the hard freeze, I thought I had turned off the other meter on a trailer house Property, well I didn’t and when it defrosted, it “Spewed “ water for three days. Sign up for alerts from your municipal water company, it will pickup heavy water usage, and send a alert to your phone.

If I may add a suggestion. Take a length of galvanised steel pipe, put some gravel in your tractor bucket and use it to push the pipe into the ground next to the PVC riser. Then clamp the two pipes together. This extra support will prevent the PVC pipe flexing and breaking off underground if (when) you run into it with a machine..:)

PVC piping is ok when its external, I use this type of piping for underground water supply. Vinidex 25mm x 3m PE100 Poly Pipe which has a pressure rating of 8mpa, maybe you need a water hammering valve on your water line, super cool bike, happy b'day girlie.

PVC pipe (not Sched 40) needs to be supported. Try driving a T post next to it and tying the PVC standpipe to that. Should make it more resistant to accidents. You can call it the standpipe hootis.

Hells Angels has a new member!!!😂Can't wait for the video of you slinging mud through the swamp on that bike!😁 There is nothing like "playing" in the mud fixing a water leak. Don't feel bad, I just ran a "new" water line to our "new" house and the "new" cut off valve started leaking around the handle.😐Now I have to dig it out, cut the pipe and splice in another "new" valve and hope it doesn't leak. Think about getting 2 or 3 tires to put around the pipe. Then fill the tires with dirt. plant flowers in it . That should save any more water pipe damage. Happy Birthday!

Anytime you repair a big line that reduces to a smaller line after it, leave your hole open for 24 hours to make sure the pressure doesnt cause another leak. No leak after 24 hours, then fill the hole back in. Like one of you said, work smarter not harder!!

Okay, I’ve never commented before…but… I can’t keep my yap shut about you moving the tractors in order to mow. I’m in southeast and northeast Texas, (one is the farm and the other house is northeast Houston), and I know what lurks when the grass grows deep. Good for you for keeping the grass short so the critters don’t multiply too close to home. On another note, most water companies will at least cut your bill in half if you have receipts to show where you either paid a plumber or bought repair pvc to fix a leak. What’s up with your parish water co?

Hopefully it's done but you should consider MDPE pipe we use it in UK, its flexible so with all the movement in the ground its less likely to damage a joint, sure you'll get it sorted though.

A water leak can become costly. Thousands of gallons lost on a water meter. Sometime house insurance covers the horrendous loss if it is included in the premium. Water and fire right now seems to be doing a really nasty job with forest fires, smoke and floods.

I know you have it filled, but putting a good amount of gravel in there might be of help in the future. I know doing that has helped me. Even in areas I was 'never going back into again'.

Water leaks suck! On the positive at least you can fix it yourself rather than paying big bucks to pay someone to fix it for you. It's a bummer what the leak cost in December. I was thinking maybe you could put gravel around there instead of back filling but either way you'd have to dig it up. BUT, that glue is amazing and hopefully does the trick this time. I thought of something as I write this. Here in Wisconsin we get water main breaks in winter when it's bitter cold - meaning under 10 degrees ;-) and our street dept is out in that weather trying to fix it for hours. bbbrrrrrrrrrrr..... Happy Birthday Lydia. Jim! Smart move getting Lydia a gift that YOU can use too haahahhahahaha

I just started using the rain or shine blue glue,it works even if there is a little water.

I am from South Africa and find it a bit strange that you guys over there in the US use pvc pipe for water lines.( I'v seen it being used on other videos as well). PVC is hard and unforgiving and doesn't take a lot to break. We mostly use poly ethylene pipe ( high density poly ethylene) for water lines. It is much more flexible and doesn't break easy, it also is available in rolls of 100 meter ( 330 feet) which makes installation quicker and easier. Just wondering though,,🙃. PS Happy Birthday.
