If I was an investor for niji (one that was big enough to even mention) I would be suing niji for the amount of lies they dropped for me as an investor...
Thats expected, his responsibility is primarily to the investors first, especially in Japan...but serious, what was with the black colour scheme? bad look given the rumors
Still love that Riku apologized to the INVESTORS for saying Selen's termination was negligible but not to the almost 1 million fans who supported her (myself included) or anyone else in her corner. Very smart move indeed
CyYu even mentioned how Niji wanted him to completely drop his VA career if he wanted to join. The company wants nothing but full control so that they can drop them with no chance of them thriving after.
“No chance of them thriving after” **The company continues to harass Doki by releasing a statement about her private legal document during her stream** Can't be any further from the truth.
Honestly they just completely destroyed that tactic with this PR nightmare. It was so bad that several VTubers who graduated or were going to graduate suddenly UNGRADUATED, meaning they backpedaled from the NIJISANJI debut or audition process after realizing what's up.
just to put it in perspective for people who aren't in the know when it comes to vtubers. hololive also had someone who left their ranks, and was basically part of the longest group they had. because she violated her contract. and the way they handled it is different: -they wanted her so stay, and just forget about the incident. she said herself she wanted to leave. as she didn't want to be given special treatment. -everyone in the company was free to say what they want, but all of them were saddened by the news. -the CEO himself, wanted to give her another shot. but respected her wishes. but hey, thats the difference you get when a company cares for their employee rather than treat them like products.
Mel right? Is it true about them wanting her to stay? First time i hear from it but if true, my opinion of holo goes up cuz i was so angry at them for not using something like a suspension.
@@franks777_KFP what I've been hearing is she breached contract by accident (leaked company info or something like that) and that while they *wanted* her to stay, they couldn't let her because then it would render that portion of all of the other contracts null and void in the future bc they made an exception, therefore they came to that agreement.
@@gab4099 ah too bad, that aligned with what i heard. Op made it look like they were willing to go with something less severe but she opted out honorably. Well, that's harsh jp business for ya.
@@franks777_KFP It's also worth noting that Mel's name didn't become taboo, even though it was a termination rather than a graduation, everyone was free to express regrets and condolences, they did a very good job of communicating that there was no maliciousness or bad acting involved, it was just an unfortunate consequence of contract law.
Idk how I feel about that. If they wanted her to stay, then that proves to be that it wasn't a termination worthy situation because the leak was self-contained. It didn't spread like Rushia's leak did. And Mel has always been a very sensitive person, so I feel like Mel wanted to leave was just her feeling emotional in the moment. I don't think Hololive going through with it so quick when emotions were so high was a good idea. It makes me question whether or not Mel's judgement was truly sound or not. I wish she was just suspended, because even though I never watched her content, she always had a big presence in Hololive, and just her status as being one of their senpais to the younger talents was really comforting. I feel really bad for Advent because they never got the chance to meet Mel.
During this shit show, Hololive, probably the biggest vtuber agency out there put out their yearly financial support and it showed that each of their talents got a salary of like 30K a month, completely independent of their merch sales, superchats, and other income. When the shareholders asked the CEO, Motoaki "Yagoo" Tanigo, to be more like Anycolor to make more money, he responded, "We pay our talent what we believe they are worth, and will not be lowering their pay."
Nijisanji actually makes a lot more than Hololive but that's thanks to having nearly double the amount of liverstreamers. Of course they also don't pay their streamers as well as Hololive and don't invest in staff either,.
@@GarrusN7 I don't mean biggest in terms of money, but in reach. Gura being the most subscribed Vtuber on RU-vid, Calli making songs for both One Piece and MGS, Pekora being the number 1 most watched female streamer in all of 2023, stuff like that.
@@GarrusN7Actually Hololive makes more! They're both public and you can compare the financials. In Q3 of 2023 Hololive reported 7.13 billion yen in revenue, to Nijisanji's 6.54 billion. However Holo only reported 1.04 billion yen in net income, to Niji's 1.7 billion. tl;dr Hololive makes more money, but less profit because they aren't a sweatshop.
Revealing confidential documents as a lawyer is incredibly unethical and often illegal, especially because it seems to be an intimidation tactic. Not only should the company be sued but their lawyers should lose their law licenses.
Welp charlie is trying do hard to cancel people and now eben a company? Too big of a step to take for an influencer who only yapping and leeching from other peoples content
Something that wasn't mentioned was that this isn't the first time this happened with a niji branch. Nijisanji Korea, Nijisanji India, Nijisanji Shanghai, Nijisanji Taipei. ALL of them crashed and burned due to mismanagement. This time it was just given enough attention.
It's like Tazumi saw Hololive's success (after some very rocky and strict beginnings), and decided to copy all of the shitty things that Hololive gradually stopped doing, as if that was the secret to their success. They completely swapped places in reputation in less than 3 years, it's almost an achievement to fuck up so hard.
Also after yagoo started to become a meme *mysteriously* for *some reason* nijisanji streamers started to hype up tazumi. None of which felt natural and was very cringe. You can feel the difference between hololive members having friendly banter and poking a little fun at yagoo, and tazumi taking a selfie with him holding a sign saying "I'm selen's idol". Which is an even more insulting image now with the hindsight we have.
I saw somebody say that Yagoo was pops and Tazumi was anti-pops. It's a regular show reference but for those who don't know. Pop is the spirt of good, antipops is the spirit of evil. So yeah, it makes sence.
Important Key Notes: Riku Tazumi (CEO & Founder) owns 45% of Anycolor shares and is valued at probably 1.5 billion dollars. He is roughly 27 years old now. While not always important, it is important in how hard he is squeezing water from the stone to accumulate his wealth so quickly. He bragged about his 198million dollar Superyacht during a period where the company was seeing oversaturation for talent/lower incomes. This 1-2% merch info comes out. And that was all sort of during COVID that he flexed. So, yeah. Dude is out of touch and still has a lot of failures someone in their 20s would have that has grown out of touch at such a pivotal age.
I would also like to add to K9Kuro's claims. In one of his earlier livestreams with VShojo, he had stated that he was originally going to debut as indie, but changed his mind. He revealed that he was in trouble his taxes and owed a lot because NijisanjiEN did not give him the correct forms/documents/numbers and refused to help him at all with his financial situation. Reaching out to many of his vtuber friends asking for help, Ironmouse said "i got you" and asked her contacts, and got him in contact with Gunrun (VSJ CEO) and was able to help resolve the issues. Seeing how someone he really didn't know, helped him out way more than what his then previous company did, made it an easy decision to join. It's heartbreaking to hear that both Kuro and Matara were genuinely flabbergasted that management as VSJ were, in paraphrasing Matara's words, going out of their way to make sure everything was taken care of and if they needed any help at all finding artists, VT riggers, BGM artists, etc., and if they needed extra funding for it.
VShojo has zero reason to go out of their way to help someone who isn't part of them, but they did and I have more respect to them. That alone makes Nijisanjo even worse and I love it. I knew that Mysta (now known as Kuro) got into tax debt because he bought a house as his work studio and was expecting a tax deduction due to being related to his work, and that it seemed like a problem that he got into himself. But my gut feeling tells me that Nijisanji refused to provide the tax deduction which resulted in his debt. I did not know about the fact that they didn't give him the correct documents, but that still sounds like a way of them f**king him over to avoid giving tax deductions.
Also to add to the management part, while I don't “think” VShojo “directly” helps with funding it, they most likely “indirectly” help by finding sponsors or marketing extra products to help fund their talent’s projects so the talents wouldn't have to pay out of their pocket. Which is in a way still helping to fund it. I just couldn't even imagine how they were able to fund their projects when they were in Nijisanji, especially when I don't believe the talents are allowed to personally have sponsors or to market stuff on their own without being anonymous about it.
@@Corethetic From what I know, it was only bad when they first came out, especially due to the three talents/streamer; Silver, Vei, and Nyanners, who caused some of the main dramas. After they left (technically graduate, but VShojo doesn't use that term), the agency started to improve over time as it recruited several fairly-known vtubers who graduated from other companies. Btw, what's wrong with Ironmouse? I mainly know her due to her having a connection with CDawg, but I don't remember her causing or being a part of any major drama like Silver, Vei, and Nyanners.
My personal gripe with the CEO "apology" is that he didn't even apologize to selen herself for releasing those documents when he clearly knows that was a mistake
It’s basically proven that Selen/Doki did NOT make the posts about her hospitalization on the Selen account, those were made by the “management”. She was locked out of her accounts right after she made the post asking people to reupload the music video.
Yeah the insight into the different apostrophes that keyboards use based on location was wild. I wonder if people dig into old messages they can find out more tweets from management that people thought were from the streamers
My concerns, Mysta used to be very poor with his mom, and he was desprate for money so he joined NIJI and he said he was happy he has money now but when I learned that the talents get 1 or 2% of the merch they sell I got concerned if its the same of the dono's they got...
Another crazy thing that wasn't in that post is another Niji talent left in December and K9 Kuro of VShojo, aka Mysta Rias, joined VShojo because when he worked for Nijisanji he was recommended an accountant/financial consultant. This accountant/financial consultant recommended by Nijisanji had messed up so bad it left him $350,000 in tax debt. He didn't know what to do because of how bad the debt was and he asked everyone he knew for help. That's when VShojo's Ironmouse and VShojo's CEO Gunrun helped him out. Gunrun sorted out the paper work for him and managed to reduce a significant portion of the tax debt. He noted that him and Ironmouse weren't that close. They hardly spoke but he was desperate and messaged everyone he knew. Ironmouse and Gunrun said they had his back and they really did. Kuro was so grateful he joined VShojo and is working off the tax debt.
yeah, mysta was considered like the second highest paying male vtuber in the en branch and I was so surprised to hear he was in a bad financial situation cus I thought the company helped them out on it but it seems like with everything u have to figure it urself in this company.
Heres some missed parts: Mysta Rias was in 400,000 USD (might be pounds/another currency) in debt after leaving Nijisanji. Dokibird stated she spent 200k in 2023, mostly paying off people Nijisanji refused to, and made exactly ZERO profit for the entire year. Himemori Luna, the Hololive Japan talent, was formerly a Nijisanji talent, and was driven to tears many times on live stream under Nijisanji. Pomu Rainpuff saw an opportunity to be sponsored by Metal Gear, her favorite game series and working with them was practically her goal in life. Even though it would have been a huge profit for Nijisanji, they shut her down on it, and then removed the part of her graduation stream where she alluded to it. Mirei Gundou, one of Nijisanji JP's best performing vtubers, was immediately terminated after making a dumb joke about baseball (something about purposefully trying to hit the pitcher). One of the reason Zaion was terminated was for "claiming to be sponsored by companies they had no sponsorship with". This company is the hypothetical "Deez Nutz" that does not exist.
The Mirei Gundou one was iirc moreso mistake after mistake piled up on top of her (according to JP fans), with the baseball one being the icing on the cake most likely. It was still dumb but internationally only the baseball joke is mentioned
The big 3 is now Hololive, Vshojo, and Phase Connect. But back then, it was Holo and Niji. THE MOMENT I SAW YAGOO BEHAVE, i knew he was the consumer of his own product, just like Gaben. I knew Hololive was the choice lol
It's really disheartening to hear about the unfair treatment of talent by such a massive organization. The importance of transparency, respect, and fairness can never be overemphasized. Hopefully, this highlights the need for changes within the industry.
"The tighter you grasp a handful of sand, the faster it empties" can't recall where that saying originates from but yeah greed is not a trait conducive to greater wealth, only a worsening reputation.
Sadly this isn't even the first time they mismanaged a branch, as their India, Korea, and Indonesia branches were massive failures in part due to not having any support and almost all of the livers have since left
Not even that During their hayday, fcking mito had to do a resistance movement due to mismanagement That's why mito is very concern because this is basically the repeat of what she fought
@@Benzcrimsonitacilunarnebula They listen Unheard right? But given their most profitable liver basically revolted, they kinda bended. That's why niji jp has been at peace for the most part Now its different, niji is a giant corpo. All ibsaw if mito leaves, its over
A little correction. ID branch have behind the scene support. Webcomic, Videos, Events, Fan merch, etc are all managed by ID management. The reason why ID is one of the vocal group of people hating Kurosanji cuz them using the reason of "Mismanagement"(untrue) and Financial growth is little(basically Kurosanji wanted to focus pure money).
@@Oneiroi0 I noticed the ID branches in most vtuber companies are very tight-knit and their communities have a lot of overlap, I really respect that. Heres to ID talents having the best fans, cheers.
Let's also not forget about what happened to Nijisanji KR and ID. They were the former Korean and Indonesian branches of the company that were eventually dissolved into the JP branch sometime around the end of 2022. After the merge, many of the livers who used to belong to those branches started graduating left and right, moving on to other things. Now that all of this has come out, it's probably not a stretch to think something similar was going on behind the scenes with them. I genuinely think the only branch Nijisanji really cares about is their main JP team. I was a big fan of Nijisanji EN back in 2022 but fell off keeping up with the talents at the start of 2023 because I had less free time. Recently, it feels like I'm only coming back to watch the graduations of my favorite livers - biggest was Pomu. Can't believe they've had to deal with this crap the whole time from their own company.
I was a huge fan of Niji ID. They were like a close-knit family, all of them (including ID management) are based and are eager for growth. Frustratingly of course, Anycolor just drop them into the mud. You know what's really sad? Those ID livers who already left are STILL meeting up together even now. They have their own youtube channels and even meet up for some games like DnD where the usual ID chaos ensues. Truly shows you that they are genuine friends who enjoy each other's company. It's really a shame that they couldn't just continue to grow doing all of that as a vtuber in Niji ID.
It’s really interesting, Vox’s claim that he read the entire document actually puts Nijisanji in an unwinnable position- they said that they DIDN’T show the whole document to the livers. So either Nijisanji lied about not showing the whole document to them, or Nijisanji gave them an altered document, which is the perfect situation to stuff some lies into the document to pit the livers against Doki and the fans against the livers.
There's multiple contradictions between the Three and the statement Management released later on. To add insult to injury, Vox also said he read the entire document THOROUGHLY. The only one that didn't make it worse for Niji was Ike, mostly because he barely said anything. Vox did most of the yappin (and is getting cooked the absolute hardest)
@@danielschnitzer7044worse is that, all the content from that stream is approved prior by their legal team, so it's not like he slip up or something. Everything he said can and will be use in the court case.
"She included our personal information and locations in a legal document." Yeah, obviously, because thats how legal documents work. I wouldn't be surprised if things were just as bad on the Japanese side as well. Just that the work culture in Japan is to bow down and be obedient while silently suffering abuse and harassment from companies.
probably so, given the fact that Japanese fans are currently defending the company and saying they did nothing wrong. Their culture is used to corporate harassment and toxicity.
Funny you say that, cause Niji JP's first gen Yuki Chihiro graduated amidst Selen's incident, she stated that she, along with her genmates have been forcing themselves to stay at Niji until she finally gave up and graduated. Then, not even 1 week later, she debuted as an Indie Vtuber, Sakura Aoi, and her genmates tweeted about her debut, not even giving a fck about what Niji thinks anymore.
@@farequinas5615 Yeah, definitely sounds like things are just as bad on the JP side of things. Hopefully as many as possible can manage to get out and have a successful indie redebut.
The thing about Selen's MV, she already got permission from LilyPichu and the producer of the song. They took it down because she didnt get permission to feature 2 vtubers, Nina and Mysta. 2 Nijisanji talents that have left the company. She didnt use their voice, just showing Mysta and Nina Nijisanji took down the video because Nijisanji didn't get permission..... FROM NIJISANJI
I hate niji as much as everyone else, but you can’t be serious in thinking THATS the cause of the video being taken down right? Selen may have gotten direct permission from lilypichu, but that doesn’t mean that she got permission from niji themselves. We all know these livers have to go through stupid hoops to show specific content and this isn’t the first time she hasn’t gotten permission to do a project.

par for the course tbh. MANY people feel entitled to exploit young folks for all they're worth - time, money, sexual gratification, dependence - all for the crime of... being too innocent & trusting to call adults on their BS.
Well your phone was probably made in a factory where some of the employees have committed suicide from the shithouse conditions in some 3rd world country.
Didn't know matara was in that sweatshop of a company in the past, feels bad man. She seems like a super chill person from what ive seen of her when bricky was chilling with her and the other vshojo girls. Theres so many terrible decisions happening at niji. Like, the merch? 1 or maybe 2 percent of something your every action advertisments, that nobody would want if not for you? Bruh. The bare minimum you should be getting is 20%, ideally at least 50%.
Charlie absolutely nailed the Nijisanji CEO’s “apology” video was *absolutely* about investors. Nijisanji has bled 160+ million in value from their stock since Selen’s termination.
So this actually inspired me to seek legal action for a similar work issue im having. It sucks being harassed by someone you think is supposed to be looking out for you. Definitely subbing to doki
Don't forget. Selen swept the Gamer of the Year awards at the 1st Vtuber Awards, hosted by Filian. Apparently it wasn't just her hardwork but also her greater financial sacrifice, where she promoted and thanked Nijisanji in her acceptance speeches for the opportunity and how she "Wouldn't be where she is if it wasn't for them." How is she damaging their reputation by promoting herself with a music video she had perms and payed for? This situation is crazy. I'm just catching up to the livestream shit show from last night...this is getting more wild? How?
The music video wasn't the issue (well, it sort of was - management didn't want it released for some reason, the current hypothesis is that it featured then-graduated livers who may have said some bad things about the company since they left, I'm not sure) - but Selen herself basically said "management" took down the video, and tried to make it look like it was their fault the mess happened. Which, maybe she's right, but either way it does make them look incompetent, which was a theme with Selen. She would try to host some fun event with her own money, allude to the fact that Niji wouldn't pay for it or were trying to trip her up with nonsense red tape, and management would smack her somehow by banning her from hosting tournaments, or pulling down her videos, or whatever it is. The mere act of constantly getting into fights with management like that is understandably damaging to their reputation, although not nearly to the degree as the shitstorm they've created now.
@@Claudekr And the way Nijisanji reacted to her "making them look bad" made them look worse, even evil because the way they used their VTubers as meatshields to take the hit after the backlash to them kicking her after her attempt on her life. Funny how that works. That whole honor thing is really biting them in the butt, huh?
Just a quick note, it's 'paid' instead of 'payed.' 'Paid' is the correct past tense and past participle of 'pay.' While "payed" does exist as a word, its usage is specific to nautical terminology, referring to the sealing of the seams of a ship's planking with pitch or tar. In general language and finance contexts, "paid" is the correct term.
@@Diamond1234 Some of what they said was scripted and might make it seem like the only reason they were there was to protect the company, but Vox in particular seemed to be airing personal grievances that it would seem very odd for Niji management to have written. I'm not convinced they were thrown out as meatshields so much as Niji wanted to make a retaliatory statement and they offered to be the faces of it. Remember there is no reason this could not have been on the Niji English channel, it was on Elira's.
The plaque thing really throws me. YOU CAN BUY MULTIPLE PLAQUES!! Not only does Niji apparently not want to waste money on an extra plaque they won't even let the liver buy it if they want to. This is what hololive does they buy 2, one for the office and one to send to the talent. It's just pettiness, they don't think the liver deserves the plaque.
Afaik first one is free, every additional copy costs a hundred bucks... a completely incidental cost. I think Riku just likes rolling on them while laughing at the talents.

One of the upsides of the modern days is that these types of corporate misconduct surfaces faster. I'm sure back in the 90s there were hundreds of idol agencies who had been getting away with worse stuff for entirety of their existence.
You're not wrong. Japanese vtubing agencies are based off the old idol agencies. It's why they are so controlling and brutal. This is the culture of they own you and your image...
When i heard The 'Message from Nijisanji' clip video, it genuinely sounded like Vox was trembling and sweating. After losing pretty much all of their MVP livers.. how much more can they do before they call it quits.
when mika announced her graduation she mentioned that when she decided to leave she found out that the whole year already had people set to graduate that hadn't been announced and she had to wait a looong time for hers since they don't want it all to happen at once which is crazy
I kinda figured what with the sort of one after another we've seen. Mika in December, Pomu in January, Kyo in February. It's pretty clear they're trying to spread them out to make it seem natural
The merch sales thing is normal in japan unfortunately. Demon Slayer made over 500milion one year, but they still pay the animates like $10 an hour. The payment structure in Japan is criminal.
Don't know if you have read Doki's LATEST tweet but holy shit... it gets even WORSE. Turns out that Selen/Dokibird made not just ONE attempt on her own life but TWO.... fuckin' TWO attempts. And imagine having to watch your father break down and cry in front of you. Yeah... that's how bad things got... Absolutely awful stuff. 😢
Its like a record company loosing one artist, if they have multiple artists then indeed financially it would be bareable , but they made it financially damageing by going after her instead of just let It Go, she had allready said she was satisfied and ready to move on so they could have just let things be
To add to my comment too, don’t forget Yugo’s “graduation”. He wasn’t given a chance to say goodbye unlike all of the other graduations, and his account was suspended so he literally couldn’t even post a real goodbye. Nijisanji said publicly that he broke rules, but they were at least “kind” enough to say they wanted to part peacefully to save his reputation. Nijisanji is seeing that their ex talents are thriving without Nijisanji’s help and they don’t like that, so they’re tarnishing all of their current talent’s reputation so they can’t leave and succeed. They scheduled that “message from Nijisanji” stream during Doki’s first gaming stream on purpose. They chose Elira, one of Niji’s top female streamers, and Vox and Ike, their two top male streamers, on purpose. They chose Ike, who joined Nijisanji all because of his admiration for Selen, on purpose.
Not to mention, why would Ren express how truly upset and not okay he was with Selen’s termination, only to ask people to watch last night’s suspicious stream because of how “important” it was? It’s all so disgusting of the company. I just wish all of the talent to escape and succeed on their own.

It's always so textbook. Always so obvious when it's just "we're sorry we got caught" or "we're sorry the truth got out". Well, hopefully the PR shitstorm and decline of the company, and the legal battle are enough to at the very least get them to straighten up and fly right for a while.

If you were to do the “right thing” and would have ended up losing your Japan visa, having your entire life upended, losing your job and tons of money, I’m sure that you’d be having some difficulties. Not everyone in the world can afford to do this kind of thing bc of “morals”, especially if it can ruin your life and leave you several thousand in debt (just a comparison, not something totally accurate) This also slightly reminds me of a case in Japan where this old and dead guy named Johnny or smth took advantage of his extremely powerful position in the J-pop community to rape/SA/etc. young boys and idols who worked for him. And then people ask shit like “why couldn’t they have spoken out? Why couldn’t they have said anything sooner?” Bc of the CONSEQUENCES. This man was so powerful that he could have blacklisted them from the industry and completely ruined their lives in an instant. People who did speak up got slapped with lawsuits and terrible consequences, and then faded to obscurity/badmouthed for telling the truth bc this guy was just THAT powerful. Please understand the potential consequences these people face before saying ignorant stuff like this. Nijisanji is called a “black company” for a reason. There are people who simply can’t afford to do this.
@fanti888 Yes, this is real life. Almost everybody can find justification for their bad actions. Again, though, if you only do the right thing when it's easy or convenient, you aren't really that committed to being a good person. If you're willing to hurt other people for your own well-being, that's like the literal definition of selfishness. And I'm not saying she wasn't forced to by the company. They only stream when the company allows them to, so that's probably the case. Yes, she can be fired and lose her visa. But you know who has already been through the stressful situation of being fired, and worse. The person she went after.
On one side, you have a guy flexing his new yacht, while the other side, built a multimillion dollar studio to accomodate their talents. That alone should tell you what their priorities are
@@faisfaizal5194 Tazumi is flexing his yacht Yagoo is flexing their state of the art 3d scanner, case in point, the fried chicken in that medley music video
Kurosanji is on fire while Hololive is all sunshine and rainbow right now. It is even funnier when you see that on Hololive side, Hololive has just terminated one of their oldest talents, and it was taken by fans as by far, the most peaceful and good natured termination ever. While on Niji side, every termination and graduations in just the past 2 months has been the most chaotic and slanderous in all of Vtubing history, just behind the likes of WACTOR.
another point about the recent hololive termination was that they really didn't want to do it, but knew they had to since breaking nda is a very huge no-no, especially in japan. they even let the vtuber in question, yozora mel, make a statement about it on twitter before she said goodbye to everyone. it was 1000× more well-recieved than whatever nijisanji did with the terminations of both zaion/sayu & selen/doki
@@ZXUmiif Mel breaking NDA is already a big nono, niji revealing private legal documents is definitely a bad look... Makes me feel like gaijins of EN are treated as second class citizens with little rights
@@OwinBlazer If you are a non japanese person working for a japanese company like this you are in for a time. 100% treated worse and not just Niji is doing so.
Any Ceo should know this and remember it well, they are not the pillar holding the business they have up, the workers/employees they hired are the ones holding up the business.
Yeah, what's really sad is that the ID branch (both livers and managements) are very eager for growth. They're also the true unironically "family" in Niji. The proof is that those graduated livers are still meeting up to hang out and play games with each other now on their youtube channel.
We in the Vtuber community, has known about Niji's bad reputation for a long time, but people still wanted to support the talents themselves, which is why Niji has survived so long, it was a powder keg waiting to explode, and Seleln's termination was the spark
I'm sad that it sparked now, and not in 2021 when all the Non-EN and JP branches got Effed hard. And the only OG ID member worth watching left last year as well. Mika Melatika, she was last heard speaking in one of Vshojo's K9kuro's streams as "friend". It's the trash of trash companies.
These agencies literally rely on that ‘we’re helping the person/ talent ’ to completely exploit talent to maximum degree while minimizing risk. They own everything and thus your 99% helping the company vs 1% to the person… no company would take on such risk and behave this way unless they could use innocent waifu’s ( the nature of the fans para social relationship is important, it’s like the childhood love interest vs regular person) as a shield!
This mentality needs to stop. If a company is garbage, stop using them. The employees will find other jobs in other places. Nobody would keep using Walmart because they "want to support the employees", ditch this parasocial garbage when it comes to entertainers. I get the impulse but you have to make your own decisions on whether the company is worth supporting. On the other side of things, if the people working for them aren't happy with their conditions they should leave. I'm so sick of this culture of complete non-accountability we have nowadays where we're all just supposed to feel sorry for everyone all of the time because life is hard. Life is hard for everyone. You have to man up and make the hard choices you know are right, not the easier ones that you know are wrong.
I'd argue this all started WAY before Selen's music video. I'd say the catalyst was when we were first made aware of their practices via a leak that happened a year back when we found out they did shadow suspensions of their talents under the guise of them "taking vacations" or "breaks" as well as how bad and utterly incompetent their management truly was.
Definitely, this is fact, not opinion. The MV was just the tipping point, the last straw. Ask anyone who've been following the situation for much longer than when it blew up cuz of the MV and the events that followed. That explanation video is incomplete.
Way earlier than that. It starts from the IN ID KR branch dissolved and multiple graduates from the branch. Getting worst when the 3D live is cancelled and Niji pumping the debut of vtubers.
It goes even further beyond. i personally took that leaked discord group dm bashing holo council as a massive red flag. Before that point, my opinion of them was pretty neutral.
I feel so bad for Zaion because she was so sad about the people she considered friends in that company to backstab her n talk bad on her name and see other members say they are nothing without Nijisanji, how low their mental was that they couldn’t see their own talent was the reason they were popular in Nijisanji
Seems he used some decent sources of info here. I could pick out things that probably deserve further context, but it was better than a lot of the videos I've seen on the topic from people not in the know.
Also note that Matara Kan (Nina Kosaka) and K9 Kuro (Mysta Rias) were both extremely relieved to find themselves in Vshojo. Matara herself commented that it was incredibly uplifting to not have to compete for company resources alongside other talents, and actually have a management team that backs her up and supports her projects, implying that she did not have much of either while she worked for Niji. This paints a very bleak picture for how Niji operates.
@@stupidheadwisp The main reason the company is in this condition is because of the pants they made. They made pants for males which hid their piggy and they made a pants for women which has a built in piggy. They got huge backlash.
I wasn’t surprised, the way streamers have been leaving/terminated (AKA graduating) the company just shows how much they don’t care for their employees.
I just want to add, Selen's access to her socials was removed on the 26th of December. The statements made after that date were not Selen's words, those words were the company's under the guise of Selen posting it herself.
The best part of this all "After a rigorous legal check, ANYCOLOR Inc. hereby declares that it has not made any confidentiality violations while checking the validity of claims made by Selen and her lawyer with its affiliated Livers." They can't be in legal trouble, they *hereby declared it.*
Meanwhile, every lawyer in Canada is all "damn, I wish I was Doki's lawyer..." because goddamn the settlement will be glorious - when you employ a Canadian resident, you're subject to Canadian labour laws, and they are extremely strict, and equal to everyone. As a bonus, Niji can escalate all they want, but they'll never reach a point where it becomes too expensive for Selen to continue because _that's not how it works in Canadian legal affairs._ The lawyer works on contingency - they only get paid when the plaintiff gets paid (and only 40% of the total settlement maximum, a percentage that's decided before proceeding to trial). In short, they can hereby declare whatever the fuck they want, but they're still hilariously guilty, and they _will_ pay.
The council has invoked a special comitee formed of its members so as to ascertain whether it was guilty or not. The comitee has decided the council was not guilty of any infractions
Bro, most of these vtubers let the 5 finger penetration up their asses (both literally and figuratively) and allowed these companies to use them as meat puppets so that they can do a job that they thought they'd love and make good money off of it. Percentages aside, they make good ass money off of wages and 1% or 2% of a million dollars is still a lot of dough. And remember, you can get yourself fired or basically quit whenever you want out, but these people see this as their only path once they are allowed to walk it. I don't say this to belittle their circumstances or make them seem like they shouldn't complain or feel attacked, but in reality, this is show business; the most insidious and diabolical man made thing that wasn't the Atom Bomb
I agree but when you see an opportunity to make it big when you are not in a place comfortable enough to have "choices" i believe any person might take that... it's just that they don't realise the consequences until they actually face them, pretty sad honestly
22:15 Funfact Elira who had that video posted on her channel (most likely forcefully) is that she is on a work visa in Japan so she could literally be getting blackmailed with deportation and her way of living
That's not how work Visa's work in Japan, they are managed by the government and upon termination or resignation from a company you are granted 3 months to find a new job
This entire situation truly made me realize how toxic the Japanese work culture is. I thought America loved its companies but to think companies could be that toxic and force its own stars to accept only 2%…
One detail I find absolutely messed up that was brought up in the video you referred was that when the company handed out their termination notice to Selen publicly they self reported on something that’s just dark to think about; They took control of her twitter account while she was recovering from her suicide attempt. Those tweets of her basically saying ‘I’m ok guys, see you all soon, teehee’ were NOT Selen. It was the bosses trying to save face from the fact of one of their own employees being pushed to that point because of said employee working for them. That’s just messed up.
dragoons found that before (iirc it was before the termination) they admitted taking control of her account just by noticing the " ' " were different in those tweets. But in corpo vtuber scene it's not too dark since they own everything and can do anything they want. it's just not so ethically correct
@@doctoraquisio7957 that part about the apostrophe was confirmed to not be due to skinwalking (which they have done and should not be ignored) but due to the difference in the apostrophe used by Windows and an iPhone. The tweets with the "incorrect" apostrophe were from her phone right after she got out of the hospital, likely because she didn't have access to her computer at the time for whatever reason and wanted to address her fans ASAP since she knew everyone knew what happened. Unless there's more information beyond that point, I'm pretty sure that's the last conclusion speculators have come up with on the matter.
@@YukiMurakumoThe maujin video Charlie references at the start confirms it by overlapping the date of the tweets and when niji’s statement says she was stealth suspended and lost social media access
@@YukiMurakumo I actually didn't know/heard about that but the time line supports the theory tbh (my first comment was from my pc and this one was from phone)
I should mention that the Reddit summary missed out on a key event that actually signaled itself as an omen of things to come, and it was the termination of a liver named Yugo Asuma (now goes by the indie handle "Unnämed") many months before Zaion's termination. Part of the reason most people overlook it is due to how obscure the series of exchanges were - very much unlike how they handled the ones that followed. I feel it's very important to mention this because Yugo's termination gave the company the confidence and a sense of security that they can get away with shit like this. That bit is evident with how much bolder and more obnoxious they kept getting with each consecutive termination statement going forward.
@@joyboy8280 its cus honestly after looking at all terminations he did not deserve it cus he really didn't do anything too hardcore. Its again nijisanjis weird ass rules that they enforce at times and not in others. When he go terminated I was so frustrated and he wasn't even my oshi. I was so shocked by it, the way they left us hanging and from that point I stopped checking nijisanji out and thank god I did cus the shitstorm that happened and is happening ---OMG.

The "Yacht" thing is just a meme that popped out of 4 chan since thats typically what millionaires do. This is in contrast to Hololive's *2.7 billion yen* studio they have invested for their talents. Also 2% is not the norm. Hololives cut is 50% or more, with the talents having most of the creative liberty on what the merch would be with the company taking care of the production and contacts. They also get a standard salary aside from the superchats, so this gives them stable income that they can actually get by regardless of performance.
An example of that creative liberty is Yukihana Lamy's Sake merch that she herself was heavily involved in the process of making and deciding the taste of the sake. It was described as "A Koji and rice malt-driven sake with rose and melon, pollen and cherry blossom. Savoury and fresh." During the International Wine Challenge 2023 (IWC).
I believe it started when people analyzed why they spent so much on paying taxes and then it was revealed that they were barely investing anything and were just hoarding money so people started to joke around about the money actually being spent on a yacht.
Nijisanji keeping the RU-vid play buttons is so fucking petty. Hololive goes the extra mile and purchase a second play button--one for the talents and one for the office. Even better when Hololive bought two play buttons so the twins vtuber FuwaMoco each get their own.
One thing that the loremaster missed regarding Pomu was before she left one of her membership VODs (maybe all of them? I'm not sure) was made public. And in one of them she mentioned how she in her own words "missed out on a once in a lifetime opportunity because it was denied to her." Obviously denied by management and no negotiations or anything were allowed even though she obviously wanted to do it.
Just read in another comment referring to what I imagine is what you are taking about here, and it was a collab with Konami, which would be huge for anyone and heartbreaking if taken away, but even worse that it was passed off to another member? That's downright sinister.
@@JJtoob She didn't mention exactly what the opportunity was for obvious reasons. But there was a lot of speculation it was related to MGS or Konami since she is a HUGE MGS fan and there was an announcement related to MGS around the time.
Not only that, once her long time members began to draw people attention to that VOD because they remembered the conversation and could freely talk about it since it was now public, management then re-privated that one singular members stream. Pomu made all of her members content public as she left, but when people began to look a little too close at a probable reason for her wanting to leave, management swept it under the rug and prayed people would forget.
All her members VODs were made public after her graduation as after RU-vid cancels them the content disappears all talents are a lot more personal and less filtered on members content and she basically stated how upset she was with the way things turned out because of management decisions. That VOD got deleted specifically because of that as the other membership VODs are still up
Doki deserves to be able to move on with her life after being bullied and harassed until she made an attempt, but her abusers just won't let her, they did this during her first gaming stream causing her to have a panic attack live in front of thousands of people, at least they self reported saying that the 3 of them and 2 others were in the lawsuit aka they were the ones named as bullying and harassing Selen, they claimed they weren't bullying her behind closed doors while they publically bully her, Doki's lawyer is getting so much free ammo from these abusive idiots.
@@sssS-ch8nr That's the MOST FUCKED UP PART, She didn't say ANYONE was bullying her, THEY DID in an attempt to get ahead of potential accusations, She just alleged workplace harassment vaguely AS A RESPONSE to their hitpiece of a termination notice

If I recall, Suisei pulled the same feat when she was in INNK. She paid everything for Tenkyuu, Suisei wa Yoru wo Mataide, which was supposed to be her retirement song, because INNK was literally ignoring her. Good thing, holo picked things up. Easily one of the best company decisions Yagoo's goons ever made.
Part of the reason why some people suspect they were coerced in a way was bc el1ra was in JP with a work visa and all so it might've been used against her. idk if this is true or not but honestly it's still messed up that the company had other livers involved. they could've had that 15min stream on their main channel and not a liver's and they should've kept Selen's papers private.
The only reason why he's angry is because his scam has been exposed for the entire world to see so he knows he's fucked left right and center. Japanese media and office work culture: You cannot die without our permission! Unlimited unpaid overtime! Japanese public transit system: We respect our customers' and workers' time and effort.
I wouldn't generalise like that, but mostly the culture of "respect" is a double edge sword! While not wanting to in incommoded others is admirable, it shouldn't be tolerate when it's at someone else, or your own expenses! The visible aspects are unliving and the hikikomoris or the Jouhatsu "evaporate" syndrome, people so ashamed of failure, they choose to simply disappear without notifying their friends and family! Hopefully with new generations, things are, slowly, changing!
I'm kinda not surprised they didn't mention the first EN Vtuber that left - Yugo. The short version to that is they left because they wanted to focus on singing more than video games. And management said no. Yugo has an AMAZING singing voice, like actually amazing. It's why CyYu declined to join Niji - because they wouldn't let the professional voice actor to voice act if he did.
Yugo was also terminated because he let it slip that it was harder to appeal to female viewers like his coworkers did because he was transgender and that it was very hard for him in that regard and Nijisanji didn't like the "immersion break". So they punished him for that too I think.
Oh. I saw that mentioning somewhere on Twitter the other Day. Could not make much out of it because i was and still am not that invested in everything. But now what he said back then makes Sense to me in Retro Perspective.
