Today I return to saving your HOI4 disasters! This time we have a French disaster save, this one has a pretty dire economy and army. Can we turn this around?

france researched doctrine with victor of the first war debuff, since france starts with battle plan and he had superior firepower from what I saw, meaning the reason france had so ltitle research because they only had 2 research slots for the past 3 years, one was focused on artilery ahead of time, so yes you only have 1 reserach slot remaining for all the rest.

This isn’t necessarily sabotage, it’s from all games, not this specific one, also, when I was a relatively new player, I didn’t realize that you had to assign missions to air wings.

This is a fact, the console commands are not stored in a save game. They are stored in a text file in your HOI4 directory so every time you bring this up it shows commands that you have entered yourself.

One of my favorite ever runs on HOI4 was with France, when I just fortified my entire border, much like the guy from this save game. First the Axis threw themselves against me for a few years before dying. Then the victorious Soviets declared on me and threw themselves against me for another few years. By 1945 I had pushed them out of Europe and taken the USSR. Good times.

The Italian fleet had actual screens unlike the French fleets. This means that all the torps on the DD's + CL's can hit the capital ships.

France appears to have two options, in my experience. Go for a meta-build that ends the war in 1937, or do a thing where France survives 1940 which always turns into the grindiest of grimdark grinds. In all of my games doing the later option, the Soviet Union prefers to go to war with places like Iraq and Afganistan, and they never join against Germany.

In my experience if you go napoleonic you can also just out german the germans and go on a crazy world conquest for seemingly no reason. But it's a while since I tried france so maybe it got nerfed since.

I think when you look through the console history it’s for all their games so it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s sabatoged

@@vindiesel682 the console history is in a file in the game folder named console_history.txt so the list showed* is console command that alex has done before in other hearts of iron 4 games every command you write in the console no matter if you play with mods or not gets added to the console_history.txt file so take mines as a example it has commands for different nations in the Palpatine's Gamble - ALPHA mod like tag NAB and other nations tag due to me wanted to make sure that nations joined the seps or the rep so in short the command listed does not belong to the save game but is a list of command that alex as done for other hearts of iron 4 games edit: NAB not NAP

In all fairness I never research air doctrine or much of the mechanical computing at first. I research infantry equipment and land doctrine before anything else. Depending on how much manpower I can put in the field I usually use a 3 brigade infantry template as a quick garrison which can also put up some resistance. Especially on armored divisions I rarely do a 20 wide as it gets to be quite costly to produce and maintain. However, how I play against the AI is very different from how I play pvp

When I use the up arrow on the console, no matter what save game I download and use, it just shows me my own console usage history from a game where I was trying to decrease the lag by deleting South American divisions. Edit: Also, those are the exact same console commands as last time. -

Support the heavy tanks with foot infantry instead of trucks. It only slows the tanks by 1km, but grants way better movement modifiers than trucks

Not sure if you will see this Alex but when I start a new game I can press up on the console window and see commands from old savegames. I may be wrong but I think its possible that when you load saves and there is console commands in the history that they are from older saves. That doesn't mean that he wasn't cheating though the only way to be completely sure is to only accept ironman saves. hope this helps

I mean, the Italians are the one nation where I find the AI acts pretty realistically. We're talking about a country that barely beat Ethiopia while in full-on war crime mode and couldn't take Greece without Big Daddy Germany helping them.
