i always love seeing your playthroughs of games because you always get immersed. whether it’s the environment, gameplay, characters, or story, you always pay so much attention to the game, and i personally appreciate that a lot, especially as someone who likes to over-focus on the details of my own favorite games. i got into this game when it first came out, and i remember thinking it was so cool. it’s not simply a horror game-if anything, it’s technically more of a puzzle game. as you’ve noticed, this game doesn’t have an outright story, in the sense that there’s no dialogue or direct storyline. however, you can see hints of a story in the way that the characters interact with the world, and how the world is presented to us. as a resident fan, i’m obliged to give a bunch of fun facts about this game! (spoiler warning for those who haven’t finished the game/video) - the character you play as is actually a girl, and her name is “six”! it’s said in the official little nightmares website, and the reasoning for it is in the comic! i won’t spoil why or anything, but just know that the comic explains why her name is six - the second game is significantly longer than this game. in fact, it’s so long that when i saw your video length, i thought to myself “has the first game always been that short??” - there’s actually a third game that’s going to be coming out! i don’t thin kwe know exactly when it does, but we know it exists 👍 - a lot of people used to nickname the woman you fight as the end as the “geisha”, but as far as i know, she isn’t officially stated to be a geisha. she’s referred to as “the lady” - there’s a mobile game called “very little nightmares” which is canonically part of the little nightmares universe! in that game, you play as a girl with a yellow raincoat-but that girl isn’t six. this is evident because the mobile girl has a braid, while six has short hair. - the dlc for this game is very good, and i recommend playing it! it’s maybe a little bit shorter than the game itself, and it takes place in the same ship! i’m gonna get into some of the theories now, so if you don’t want to read it, then feel free! i’m simply bringing them up because the little nightmares community had SO many theories about this game when it came out, that i feel like i’m required to bring them up. - the seven deadly sins theory since six’s name is “six”, a very popular theory was that the major characters are all based off of a different sin. * gluttony - the guests * lust - the lady * greed - the maw (aka the ship you’re on) * pride - the chefs * sorrow - the gnomes * wrath - six * sloth - the leeches now, a lot of these could be considered “reaches”, but a lot of the fandom came to the consensus that if this theory was true, then six absolutely represented wrath and the lady absolutely represented either pride or lust. - the cycle theory there were lots of variations of this one; since, at the end of the game, six gains the powers from the lady, people either believed that six would become a new version of the lady, or that six would become the lady herself. - the family theory i forgot where exactly this one came from, but people theorized that six was the lady’s daughter. i believe it’s because somewhere in the lady’s room, there’s a framed picture of a girl that kind of resembles six. - shadow six theory so, this isn’t much of a theory, since it’s based off of canon facts. every time six eats, if you look around as she’s eating, you can spot a shadowy version of six in the background. there isn’t a tangible theory about this shadow form of six, but a lot of people believed that the shadow was six’s “dark side” or something - six eating the gnome since it’s pretty implied that all of the food in the maw is made out of the children, a lot of people think that the reason six ate the gnome instead of the sausage that it was holding is because she knew that the sausage was made out of human meat. this theory actually coincides with another small theory, that the meat is the reason the guests are pretty much mindless. the idea is that six knows that the food is the reason why the guests are mindless, therefore it’s better if she ate something living, because at least she wouldn’t turn out like the guests. there’s probably a lot more theories, but these were the most popular ones back in the day. anyways, i’m very sorry for the rant, i’m just so crazy about this game /pos. it’s such a unique take on the horror genre, and the lore has always interested me. i’m glad you enjoyed playing! hopefully you play the dlc and the second game! i really enjoyed watching, and look forward to seeing what you’ll play next
Nah its super cool to read, the theories on the Sins make sense because I even mention in the video how the kitchen is so clean despite the horrors of the ship! its so clean and its like they take pride in their work!

I can’t wait to watch your playthrough of this! :D Also story time about the effects this game had on me xD The major I chose in school includes both paintings and sculpting, so when I first played little nightmares I was really fascinated by the enemies’ designs (especially the guests!) and wanted to try to recreate them. This ended up creating a notable difference between what I draw and what I sculpt. Most of my drawings are in a simple comic style with cute characters, while my sculptures are mostly grothescque faces like the ones in this game lol.
little nightmares is one of my favourite games as a child and still is! I LOVE the concept, especially the gameplay. I’m so glad you finally played it, hope you play little nightmares II and III (when it comes out)
One of my favorite games of all times i really like the ambiance and the atmosphere The puzzles are not too hard and not too easy just perfect i like how the game makes us players want to know more about Six she is such an interesting character I hope you will play the Dlc and Little Nightmares 2
Super excited to watch this. The Little Nightmares games are my absolute favorite and I love seeing more people discver them. You should play the dlc chapters sometime!
I really hope to see you play the dlc as well as the second game, and the third whenever it comes out. If you are at all interested I'd recommend listening to the little nightmare's podcast, it's called "The Sounds of Nightmares". It gives a more in-depth view of what exactly is going on and is it's own story connected to the little nightmare's universe.
If you want to know more about the lore I really recommend "The Sounds of Nightmares" it's like an audio storytelling and it's full of lore (I recommend checking it out after you play all the games though!) Also the Long Arms Man is called Rogers 😂 and he is blind (that's why he's super sensitive to noise)

If you like it, PLEASE play the dlc and the second one too. The third game should come somewhere in 2025 so I really hope you'll play that one too!! Ps. Yes, your character does have a name. In this game the main character's name is Six, in the dlc it's the Runaway Kid (RK) and in the second game it's Mono.
If you're looking for whimsical "horror" game, I would heavily recommend Bramble the Mountain King. I find it similar to Little Nightmares, maybe less horror coded however. The OSTs are absolutely SPLENDID and an absolute treat to the ear. I don’t want to spoil what the story is about, so I'll just mention that it draws inspiration from nordic folklore!

Did not play this game yet. I just enjoy watching someone playing this game lol because I can't hahaha. But there's a theory that the lamps and candles you light up was for the other children that may follow your footsteps and try to escape also. Since when you die in game you just wake up near where you fell etc.
I have just finished this game (today) and all I can say is that I haven't played such a pretentious, barely-basic, meaningless, bugfest of a short game since Sifu. 3/10.

What do you mean by pretentious and most importantly meaningless? Not trying to hate and it’s ok if you don’t like the game, but these critiques are a bit weird because I personally think the message behind the game is quite clear and doesn’t really pretend to be deeper than it is. At its core is obviously about how greed corrupts people. You can say that it’s unoriginal but it does have a meaning xD
@Roamer The trial and error nature of the game is really cheap, especially with the traps in the stages. As for the bugs/glitches, I had platforms not loading, platforms loading but being invisible, being grabbed even tjough I was 2 meters away from the hunters, camera glitching in walls, player falling off the map, player floating in the air...
@Ww12 As someone who never cared to finish the first game, I only really played this one and all I saw was a kinda creepy game in which the miniature of a player escapes from absolutely random traps and scenarios. What exactly gave you the context of greed destroying people, because I never seen anything to suggest this? At the final moment in which the game shows you that the tall guy hunting you is actually yourself (maybe this means that your grown-up character killed your inmocent inner child?) I was done with trying to find positive things about the game. All I saw as good was the atmosphere, but even the slight delay of 5-10 seconds after each death for the character to get back at his feet was so annoying that I just don't want to even think about this game anymore. Sorry if this sounds hateful, it's just my raw thoughts on it. I prefer the Unravel games for when it comes to games like this.
@@4400seriesFAN oh you're talking about the second one! The one Roamer is playing is the first, and that's about greed, but it's expressed through hunger. It's pretty obvious because greedy people take advantage of others, like the guests literally eating people, and how a society that is based around this will create other people like that, either because they had to do it to survive, or because they grew up living with this mentality. The second game is a little harder to interpret but I'd say it continues with this logic: in this world you either take advantage of others and climb the ladder of power (like the lady in the first game or other enemies in the second) or you live at the bottom of the chain, trying to escape your reality by taking advantage of people even weaker than you or by escaping your reality by watching TV. The teachers don't teach anything useful to the kids at all (their heads are literally empty), and the TV "brainwashes people": it's a world that benefits from people not thinking for themselves so that it can take advantage of them. The reason why there are many clothes laying around and why the inside of the TV tower is "made" of bodies is a representation of that: this society is built on the suffering of others, exactly like in the first game where they "eat each other". The protagonists being children is, like you said, because they are not only "innocent" but also the only "human" ones (they are the only characters not wearing some kind of mask resembling a human), but because of betrayal or corruption they end up losing their humanity. In my interpretation, "Little nightmares" as a title, is meant to convey that the "nightmares" are the main characters themselves: they are just children, so they are small, but they are already "nightmares" because they will grow up to become exactly like the others. Obviously the real world doesn't always work like that, but there is some truth to it so I think it's a fine message for a horror game. Well that's it lol. Sorry for the long comment. You're free to still dislike the games of course, but that's my take on this xD
