Sad to say you’re right but holy cow does it make it count when people do own up to their mistakes. Taking responsibility & moving from there = real change 🙏
I disagree, he treated Stan like crap until he found out who he was, never would have done this if it wasn't the Dirt Monkey. Too little, too late for me. He had his chance.
Good on him for admitting his error....if only everyone in America could do that! From experience I'd say Stan is the most down to earth person you'd ever meet! Great guy that deserves all the success...and kudos to him for giving those folks another shot! #stoneyridgefarmer
@@frenchonion4595 if you go back and watch the original video you can tell he was thinking Dan was trying to sell him a promo video which is why he was adamant about getting something in writing before recording. Those promo sales people can be an absolute pain.
@@frenchonion4595 yeah I agree, like I’m sure once he realized how many people were watching he realized he messed up. Idc what you think a persons intentions are you should at least ask before being an asshole
@@Dirtmonkey my mommy says I'm perfect, and I KNOW you aren't calling her a liar. but really, I appreciate your videos and I've always thought it takes a big man to apologize and a bigger man to really accept that apology.
Stan, tell Don that redemption is made and it's 100%. After hearing the explanation of miscommunication and asking for another opportunity, I'm totally sold on their trailers AND company. VERY impressive build quality. Love the ideas and forethought that goes into the details on each trailer. Looks like a very handy tool with all the neat gadgets to make it easier to haul things. Great video as always Stan.
Sam, I agree. I have one of their snowmobile trailers that I bought new & is close to 25 years old. When I bought it, I bought it because of a lot of the stuff you see in this video. The versa track system, the full welds and it was much heavier built than other trailers. I was really disappointed to see how Don interacted with Stan at the show, especially knowing their product first hand. I'm glad I got to hear his explanation of why he acted the way he did and owned that he 100% messed up. In Don's defense, you usually don't get something for nothing & with everyone trying to pull some sort of scam these days, you can't blame him for being leery of what Stan was doing in the first video.
Quite an impressive line of trailers. He was a totally different person than he was at the show. The innovative features by themselves call into the "kinds nice" category, but when you put them all together, it is nothing short of mind-blowing. How great was it that he literally saw the error of his ways and gave you a proper briefing.
But if you are literally going to a sales show to show and display your product, what does it matter if a production company were to show up? Make your pitch to everyone as if they are gonna buy? What, are you ‘wasting your time’? No, you’re are a sales show selling you stuff to whomever wants to ask questions. If after they were done, Stan made a sales pitch to him about the video… then get all puffy and start demanding editing rights, etc……
I'm impressed with both you and Don... Everyone Fs up once in a while. It take a big man to admit he's wrong and it take a big man to accept an apology. Much respect to you both!! From your test and from the quality and engineering I saw, the products look solidly built and well thought-out.
That exec had confidence in his product; recognized his "big oops" at the trailer expo and took the opportunity to showcase the company. And that polymer trailer is a tough piece of work!
First, thats great on him for recognizing the error. Second, glad he invited you out to the factory to see how the trailers are made. And third - that Cargo Max is flat out impressive. Lots of engineering went into it for maximizing durability without sacrificing versatility. And the little touches like the hidden wiring, recessed lighting, and tilt limiter strap are innovative. Driving over the bed with the telehandler and the bed basically popping back to shape shows that it can take any abuse thrown at it. Very cool video....entertaining and educational!
Many in society can learn from this example: Admitting an error in judgement and apologizing is not a sign of weakness. Its a honourable trait in one's character. And kudos to you for being gracious in your accepting of his apology.
Stan I looked up a single axle Cargo Max 11-73 trailer (11 foot by 73 inches wide) Several places they are selling for $4200 retail. That is a pretty good price for that quality of product. Thanks to Don stepping up and reaching out to you he has more than likely sold one of these trailers, maybe two as my brother really liked the idea too. Thanks for going to the Floe factory so your subscribers could see these trailers.
💥 Woopty Woo's 🤣🤣 Are you sure that's in the Minnesota vocabulary? Glad that Don totally redeemed himself. I'm really impressed with the features those trailers have. Nice of you to give him another chance! *Keep on tractoring!*
I was pretty hard on the company for that last event. I stand corrected. Like so many else have said. Don, you the man. I have more respect for someone who makes a mistake and owns it than I do the majority of company who screw up and just deflect it with BS marketing statements. In fact, he came across as a genuine, likeable man. Plus, his innovation is magnificent. I will be contacting them. I have a specific use for a trailer. The Versa Max is so close to perfect. If i can get them to customize it a little, I would be sold. And he is so right. Polymers have come such a long way. He just proved it and totally didn't need to. He really had nothing to prove at this point.
It wasn't the company who acted with arrogance, it was Bob. Bob is in sales, (VP ?) and after seeing the error of his ways, he reverts to his salesman mode.
I got mad respect for that guy contacting you back, those trailers are so people handy, what I mean is, there easy for (1) person to use an adjust if you have too, thanks for sharing 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hat's off to Don at Floe for working out the communication error and for inviting you there. Great tests on the polymer trailer bed! Impressive products and designs! Thanks to you Stan for bringing more products and a cool company to your viewers!!! Stay Safe!!!
You both shined on this video. I was the president of a cadd software users group, they were doing a pat each other on the back accomplishment of the month, was usually boring as hell, changed it to what's the dumbest mistake you've made since last meeting. That and a little cheap home cooked catering lightened the atmosphere and we went from 1 member and myself to over 100 members. You learn way more from failures made right than you ever even remember from success, and the stories are way more funny and interesting. Enjoyed the video.
Redeeming qualities! That is a terrific guy he has an industry and he recognizes an opportunity. That's what this world really needs more of innovators designers and implementers. I'm an old lady who loves tools. The other day I had a instacart delivery and the fellow walked through my garage looking at all my toys and went wow. I'm 73 and that well was better than a wolf whistle LOL
Stan, one thing for sure that I'll give ya is, you'll most definitely put a product through the paces as to it's claims! So, if it passes your testing then I know it's got to be good and as stated! And any company that lets you test their equipment, either knows that it'll withstand whatever you can put it through, or either they are just plain stupid, lol. Great job!
Seems like a well made and well thought out product. It was nice to see him own up to his mistake, but it was still unfortunate the way he handled your original meeting. I feel like this meeting only happened because his PR people figured out you actually have an audience and told him he better kiss butt
Regarding your last statement, I'm not sure I can agree. I mean, he could be a scummy salesman but he doesn't have that vibe. He doesn't look uncomfortable or closed off in this video as if he was doing this begrudgingly and still disagreed with it. I just think he made an honest mistake and I don't see any tells suggesting anything to the contrary. Unfortunately it DID take some attention to get past that, but we all make mistakes, maybe he'll approach that situation differently in the future(And owning up to it says a lot toward that already). That's the real test.
@@caesar1295 That was my first thought too, his boss got wind of the nasty publicity from the first meeting. Especially now with depression hitting the USA (crypto crash, gas prices, hyper-inflation) go to $10/gallon etc), this is wrong time to be a douch*bag towards potential customerss.
I've owed two Floe trailers for years. I use one for our Polaris 2-up sleds on them and the other for hauling the UTV. I purchased my first trailer in 1999 -both are the drive-on & off versions either front & back, which are work great. The quality has been amazing especially living in Minnesota we have weather extremes with rain, road salt, snow, ice, and mud. Great work Stan!
@@Dirtmonkey Yes, they've taken a beating heading North of Cumberland most Fall weekends, winter months. Even had them behind the UTV hauling firewood, using it for building stands, even for transporting things from Menards or removing rocks along old fence lines. We have the older version made with plywood that has held up amazingly well. The front is angled, allowing you to drive off sleds from side to side since a couple old vintage sleds I owned did not have reverse-1960's Polaris. A great feature for tight parking lots if you are riding from trailheads. The only place where I have rust is the axle from the road salt as you know. Keep up the great work Stan, Saw you a couple of weeks ago on 494.
That plastic bed is impressive and the fully welded frame is nice. I'm glad to see that they reached out to you and invite you to their factory to showcase their products. And to on camera admit that he was wrong speaks volumes too
It takes a lot of guts to admit a mistake. I admire that. There's a bunch of little things that actually really impress me about these trailers more than most other ones that I've been looking at buying for my first trailer to start my own yard service business this Spring, mostly the D-rings being on the Cargo Max and the fully encased wiring inside the the frame rails of the trailer itself AND the fact that they put access holes the trailer to service the wires should you end up having a problem. Small details like that are the things that can make the BIGGEST difference. I like the Cargo Max, but the Versa track system on the UT is more what I'm looking for in a trailer because I like having the ability of being able to move my tie-downs around for various loads. I'm going to go ahead and say my view on Floe has changed and I am going to be looking at their trailers for this Spring. Thank you for the video, Stan!
Well yeah, Don's business page on Facebook got inundated with angry people, so I can see why he flipped on a dime when his business profit was in danger. God forbid you cross Don and are not YT famous like Dirt Monkey.
@@MrSpiritmonger If you don't show up with two cameras and began filming you don't come off as a person trying to just make money from selling your services. This happens all the time at shows people will go around and try to get the vendors to buy what they are selling.
Kudos to you both for moving forward and putting a simple misunderstanding behind you. That composite trailer is ingenious. Not just golf carts, it's riding mowers and so much more.
I was checking out those polymer trailers when they first came out, my concerns were the exact same as the ones you brought up. I use the hell out of my outdoor equipment so I too had my doubts. After seeing that piece being abused, I would defiantly purchase that trailer now. Thanks for what you do.
First thing I think when these company's don't give you more attention in the videos is because they either know you and know what lengths you will go to test a product or their product will just fail and that doesn't make them look good. Cudos to them for admitting his error in your intentions. Their products seem nice and well built. Thanks Stan!👍🇺🇸
this is pretty cool, floe trailers were getting a lot of flak on their facebook page after your video went live and they deleted a lot of comments. I saw them post later they reached out to you and its pretty cool to see a follow up and see their products in a better light. good press for them and a great video to watch. The fact he opens up saying it was an opportunity he missed speaks volumes on his humility. Their product is pretty impressive as well.
I have a small Cargo Max trailer and I am very happy with it. After dealing with a heavy rusting steel trailer for years, this one ticks all my boxes. I store it under my deck and when I need it, I can pull it out and walk it around my house all by myself... Not everyone is ready to have a camera put in their face at all times. Good on you for giving him a second chance. Great video!
Don is a good guy, have met him i person a few times. Floe will do it right for anyone well known in the snowmobile community. They have had it rough getting into the power sports & even harder time getting into the medium to light duty markets. Products are odd "nitchy"
Sure could have come in handy when we had ours throughout the 70's & 80's...Even though we had a full 19' custom made jeep trailer from our family welding business.
I will say I'm impressed, both with the the equipment and the people. So often today if someone makes a mistake they double down on it rather than admit it and correct it. Kudos to Flow for reaching out to Dirt Monkey and to you of course for keeping us updated.
Alright Don changed my mind about him.....i can kinda see his side because I was like most Dude your wasting a perfect opportunity to push your product. And no one would do that if they truly understood what was happening. Great line of products glad y'all both took the time to show them off.
This was WAY better than the 2 minute clip at the trade show he'd have had if the first video was different; these trailers are fantastic! So glad he had you come out for a "re-do." 👍🏻👍🏻 BTW, can you please put either their website link or YT link in your video description?
I have mad respect for Don. Impressive test. I watch a lot of these type videos, and Stan, I genuinely believe that you are the absolute best on RU-vid at doing these type videos. Always informative and very entertaining. And you ask great questions. Keep bringing them
Stan, thanks for sharing this. It takes a big person to admit their wrongs and apologize for them. Much respect to this gentleman. And, Thank YOU for going to his establishment to give him the time to show his awesome products! Stay warm out there, Brother! God bless.
Glad an American made, seemingly high quality manufacturer got the positive spotlight they deserved. It’s tough out there and everyone needs as much help and support as we can give them. Cheers to Floe & Stan the man!
Oh good, I like to think I had a part in this happening. After your video I was the first one to go over to the Floe channel and make a post about your original video, I asked him to contact you and maybe do a factory tour and try and sort this misunderstanding out. He was getting a lot of angry pushback from your viewers, I could see it was getting a bit silly and he really needed a face to face to fix this. I’m glad you both got it worked out, an American company got some good exposure and you made some more great content 🙂👍 edit: Pretty impressive that he let you repeatedly crush a trailer bed on camera, knowing that if it didn’t perform he’d look bad. Clearly a company that knows its products are good. I like that they have done some intelligent R&D on their designs too, to me that says they know what they are doing.
This just proves the power of the internet and having a great channel.. Props to anyone who can admit they were wrong.. especially a man.. We all know men have issues with “pride”.. Great follow up @Stan !! I think those trailers would sell amazing down here in my area.. absolutely phenomenal!! Stay blessed brother!!
So glad that you and Don had a meeting-of-the-minds and overcame the confusion of your first encounter. The Flow trailers are AWESOME and makes me want one of those little plastic utility trailers! Kudos to you, Stanley, and to Don; you guys are each in your special ways, exemplar!
Ok, this redemption video was BIG. I'm now back to being in the market for Floe trailer as admitting your mistakes and being willing to test your product in a way you have not tested before on camera... speaks volumes of your product confidence. It's a MN company that even supports Hey Days and our club, so this was very good to see.
This is a very refreshing video! None of us humans are ever “on” and “correct” 100% of the time! It is good to see that grace, graciousness, and second chances are possible and I think this comraderie between Stan and Don will grow and propel both of their endeavors by leaps and bounds! Kudos to both of their teams!
Very cool trailer. That owner is really smart to admit he was wrong and rude to you. Stan you are winning hearts and minds one at a time. God bless my friend, keep up the great vids, Mr. Animal.
I think it’s awesome he reached out to you and realized he misunderstood the situation, cause it ended up making a great video and showcasing a great product.
Very impressive that was a very good test of the durability of the polymer. I am glad Don owned up to his error. I now better understand his reluctancy to talk to Stan in the first video. As a business owner I am constantly bombarded with people trying to sell me services unsolicited. People are allowed to make mistakes and all of us have our good and bad days. I am glad he reached out and gave Stan an even better video to post on a very interesting trailer design.
I really enjoy visiting light industrial factories like this and seeing how someone has taken a dream and/or idea and turned it into a reality...The products, the improvements, the "assembly lines", the machines, the raw materials, the various parts...the details never end...Thanks for the visit and best wishes.
@@TheJttv I did too. Did you not watch the original video? Having done dozens of trade shows for the company I worked for, we were schooled in the fine are of potential customer ass kissing. If you don’t want something filmed at a trade show, don’t bring it.
He definitely saw the video and more importantly read through on comments (the MANY comments). However, he admitted he screwed up and made it right. Good man!
Glad to see this, was hoping it would turn out like that. Also awesome to see a small trailer shop. I used to work and build large 52ft trailers so it's neat seeing the tiny ones being built here! :D
Hope you are doing awesome tonight stan! Keep up the great work! Much snow your way as of recent? Hope you week is going well. Im glad this guy tried to fix his mistakes!
Big time respect for accountability. People who are able to apologize and admit mistakes are the kind of people you want to do business with because they have INTEGRITY. Well done.
When I watched the initial video I swore off this product due to how he handled it. I'm now 100% taking that back because he can admit he was wrong....now to watch the video lol.
Glad you were able to post an update. I sorta stumbled across the other video yesterday, and today this one showed up. I can see how the miscommunication could happen, and it's very nice to see it cleared up, and see that he is actually a good company representative.
I have a few polymer streamlight flashlights and they've survived a lot of abuse. I never thought it would work so good for trailers. That's truly amazing.
I’ve been working in plastics for over 20 years and plastics have come along in so many ways. I’ll bet if you took a heat gun to those creases in that liner it would probably go back to form
I really wanted to see those. I bought a SXS and they looked cool. I was not happy when he did that to you. I must say you handled it with grace. That’s why I know your channel will grow. It takes a good man to admit he was wrong. I’m glad you guys worked it out. One of the best videos yet. Thanks Stan 👍
Holy Moly that polymer is some really awesome stuff. They sure seem to make really high quality trailers there and really seem to try to think everything through when designing them. Great video, thanks for sharing and cheers.
Super cool of them to do this! As far at the test on that polymer bed, I’m really curious to know if it would hold up that well after months in the sun. UV breaks down polymers over time. If I were using this trailer heavily for a year (lots of time in the sun), and then a tree branch fell on it, how would it fare?
Wow I am impressed with that trailer. That would have been so helpful for my home renovations, like taking busted up drywall to the dump. I always have to put a tarp down on my landscape trailer so stuff dose not fall through the side. Great on him for reaching out to explain things.
Honestly he answered questions on his RU-vid channel and was really nice. I’m glad he came together with this channel. I think the trailers are great and innovative.
It is always great to see a person own up for mistakes made. Also I cannot find the podcast on landscape disrupters from the last video, everything I can find is from a year a ago…
That gentleman recognized his misjudgment and didn’t let his ego get the best of him after a moment of reflection. Those trailers are AWESOMELY designed and appear to be well built. GREAT PRODUCTS for sure.
I am glad the misunderstanding was resolved because people need to see these trailers. I was hooked and Don was excellent with his demonstrations. Glad it worked out well for both of you.☺🙏
That guy certainly corrected his fault with how you were originally treated. I hope someone in Manitoba is selling this brand. I know I will be buying one. They impressed me. The only trailers they seem to sell here is cheap junk that’s not cheap.
Wow my hat goes off to don!!! Hes up front and not afraid to making mistakes! He's extremely professional and I would definitely buy one of his trailers without any doubts! Thank you stan for this content it's very much appreciated!!
I had a polymer insert in one of my trucks and it took a beating and then some! Literally drop some decent size Rock several hundred pounds on it and it maintained its shape! The only two complications I noted with it was it was extremely slippery when wet especially if some fuel or oils got on it. It was easier to unload but it was also easy for the cargo to slide around so make sure your cargo is properly secure! For truck bed liners, they tend to wear the pain off over time. Good video Stan! I'm glad to see you too patch this one up the first one rubbed me the wrong way!
Great to see that the Company corrected the first interaction with you and then let you come and abuse their product and it really didn't bother the product. Almost makes me inclined to travel across the country to buy one.
Either he's playing chess while we play checkers and knew he could maximize his marketing on this channel or he's just a stand up guy! Either way kudos! Rare trait these days for folks to admit their errors. Would be interesting to see how those moldings hold up to years of sun exposure.
