@@Wedeemgaming personally I think it's better than nothing, it's cool but not great. I think that It is a good choice if you don't want to use touch the screen (like me)
Interesting note, Jeff, the thunderbolt controller is integrated into the SoC itself. Jarrod's Tech did a review about it and... it's kinda staggering. :D
This is actually pretty good design-wise, love the inclusion of the keyboard and native Windows support. I suspect with their popularity and Steam Deck coming out these units will only get better and cheaper.
I expect more PC handhelds from other companies in the coming years but I don't see how they can be as affordable as the Steam Deck. Valve can sell at a loss or razor-thin profit margins because they sell games. Maybe they can get some sort of profit sharing deal with Valve for any games sold on their handhelds but that seems a little far-fetched. However, I do see them switching to SteamOS 3.0 as a way to streamline the UX for use with their controls and to save a bit of money on Windows licenses.
Don't expect them to get much cheaper. The Steam Deck is likely a loss leader. Meaning they take a loss knowing they will make up for it on the steam store. Obscure handhelds cannot afford to sell at a loss. They need to make money on the hardware sale itself. Thus why this is $1300.
@@jamesdavies686 that's why Companies like Microsoft and Epic Games should be more inclined to come up with similar form factor PCs. I wish Razer and Alienware to step in too and it would be fine if they price it a bit higher as long as it is a quality product.
@@nayyarrashid4661 Microsoft might make a good pc handheld as they are pretty prominent in pcs and they have game pass too, but I don't think epic would be able pull off this type of hardware
That keyboard brings back nightmares of my friend's Atari 400. So glad I got the Atari 800 instead. Okay, okay...I am old. How old? My first console was a PONG console.
Performance is there and memory is so cheap now, but even among cell phones battery life is lagging on the times. Going to be awesome when we have a breakthrough on that and we'll be able to heavy use a device for 24hrs+ and charges from 0 to 100% in 5 minutes.
Really love your channel and that is one of the reasons why I subscribed long ago, because you always thinking outside the box from where others are not really doing it. Great content for sure. Hopefully the steam deck will be even more powerful and just be the jack of all trades when it comes to handheld because that gpu idea really caught my eyes.
The win 3 is great. Mine had issues with the controls I had to deal with for a week or two, but I fixed it that with the help of GPD the win had been great since. It's my travel pc when I go to work or hang out with my friends. I love this thing!
@@thomasusheriii971 no. The size of the device is too big for me. The win 3 and aya are the perfect sizes I think. The onexplayer has a great look though. If it were smaller it would have made my possibly list. You looking to get the onex?

great videos as always :D actually impressed by the performance even though it is "only" 720p but Cyberpunk at 30fps and Witcher at 60+ is very impressive.
I have a eGPU with a 3080ti with my win3, and I couldn't be happier. I play on the go, and when I am home, I can play high end stuff and use the HTC Vive for VR. TIP: disable the internal Intel GPU when playing VR or you will get stutter. with the Intel GPU disabled, it is perfect.
ETA! Thank you so much for this video. I've had my Win 3 since launch and was upset that I couldnt get certain games to run. I completely forgot about the GPD Assistant! The 3d Hardware patch is a godsend! I was wondering why I couldnt get Vanquish or 30XX to run and low and behold that patch was the ticket! Thanks again! Looking forward to the next video.
Would be fantastic with the proper WiFi chip! GPD sent me one with an Intel 7265 rather than the promised AX200 and that makes it a real tough recommendation for me to make to folks. Really hard to put my word behind a device where you can’t know what you’re getting.
Awesome video! I'm aware that these other handhelds aren't a 1:1 of the steamdeck, but it would be awesome to get a roundup of yuzu performance on them all before steamdeck launch. I guess if anything runs on this, it should run even better on the deck. Even seeing the likes of botw running under Yuzu would be great for a bit of context. I can't be alone in hoping that when botw2 releases, it'll run under Yuzu at acceptable performance levels on the deck. Would be great to play it at 4k with all the bells and whistles on my pc, and have the savefile on a NAS so I can pick it back up on my deck - best of both worlds!
Ordered one of these last month, hasn't arrived yet, very impressed with what I'm seeing on performance and battery life. Can't wait to emulate every Nintendo system in there.
It pretty much does every Nintendo system up to WiiU flawlessly. WiiU runs damn near flawlessly and Switch has come a long way. Switch tho, you're only gonna have like around a hour of battery life.
Excellent video btw. Watching this and very impressed. All I'm thinking is how much better the Steam Deck will play these, and they're already running great.
@@eddiew.4650 the steam deck is a fraction of the price and comes with native windows support since its a pc in itself so i dunno what ya on about there since you have the option. Hi Prime, always appreciate your channel and my GPD Win 3 as well! Very surprised and appreciative of showcasing Injustice 2 running on the GPD Win 3, no many videos doing so! Can you please send a screenshot or even a little more details on the settings you used to get a constant 60 fps and 720p? Always feel I'd have to go lower to get that smooth gameplay.
Steam deck is way too big and bulky to be used as a portable, plus it doesnt even have a 1TB storage option, adding Windows will increase the cost by another 100 bucks? No built-in keyboard, no eGPU option, designed to run games at 20 - 30fps. So yeah, totally no comparison, other than the APU not much benefit at all.
tru idk what the hell that game is about but i like the imperial age aesthetics its set in 😬😁 and also that its difficult to run so would be a good benchmark
Very curious what led the designers to include a touch keyboard on this device. The sliding mechanism is costly and it increases the thickness. Maybe the original design had physical buttons but they couldn’t fit them in the form factor?
@Bum Fuzzled I think I unintentionally advertised something or my comments in the past were reported, I'm able to leave visible comments on other LTT channels just fine, and they get likes. But on the main LTT channel, my comments never get a single like or any reply. You also had a look to verify this for me, so it true that I'm blocked.
Yeah me too. These other handheld gaming PC like the one x player and gpd win 3 are too expensive. 1k plus. Might as well buy a series 3000 gaming laptop for those prices.

I got a pocket 2 for my needs and I love the balance of form factor to cpu to screen resolution, ram could be better obviously but isnt noticeable once youre using it
Really interested to see a review of emulation on this, and also maybe some extra testing with PC gaming. I'd love to see the difference in performance at say 20W vs 30W TDP and the realistic battery life at each wattage. I've pre-ordered a Steam Deck but I'm impatient and may consider picking one of these up if it's got good performance with decent battery life. I like the idea that you can dock this and I like the keyboard (crap though it may be, better than nothing).
It is actually a fair price though. People don't realize the true value of hardware due to these big billion dollar companies conditioning the market. The only reason why a PS5 costs 500 bucks is because they sell each one at a loss and rely on their PlayStation store to bring in the revenue. The goal is to get as many PS5's into homes as humanly possible. But if they sold PS5's to profit off the hardware alone (like GPD has to do) a PS5 would could cost 1000 dollars or more. GPD doesn't have a software store to do what Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo do, so they have to make up all of their money on the hardware alone. The tech inside that little device is very premium and very expensive. People see a $1000.00+ price tag and think it's not a fair deal, but it actually is. All the mainstream stuff that the average person uses as a pricing benchmark is just dirt cheap by comparison.
@@thebluethunderbunny2324 calling a $1300 handheld a fair price is rediculous considering what else you can get for that money. A built PC, a gaming laptop at that price will outperform this by miles. You want portability? Just wait for the steam deck, or just get a switch. $1300 for this thing is just plain retarded if you have the money or not, doesnt matter.
@@thebluethunderbunny2324 it isn't a fair deal. None of that matters to the consumer. What matters is what we can get for the money. This isn't priced well compared to its competition.
@@Droogie128 What matters to the consumer doesn't determine what's fair and what's not. The deal is indeed fair. All the tech jammed into these GPD devices costs hundreds of dollars. The motherboard alone is around 700 bucks. After you throw in all the other components, including the RAM, which is also very expensive, plus the cost of labor for mass producing these products, 1100-1300 bucks is actually completely fair. I think what you're actually trying to say is that it's too expensive for most peoples already market conditioned standards. Difference. Anyone who buys one of these GPD products should not feel ripped off simply because their competition has the ability to take a huge loss. It's the difference between a fair deal, and an incredible deal. But neither one is a ripoff.
@@thebluethunderbunny2324 what matters to the consumer is all that matters. That's the end user. That's who determines what to buy and what is fair. You can get better performance for less than half the price. Everything else your saying is word salad in terms of marketing. "Fair" doesn't matter. Value does.
GPD is still going to have it's niche audience. I don't think that's gonna go away. But the steam deck is going to grab alot more people outside of that said niche audience. I will say this: IF the steam deck fails (which I don't think it will), It's gonna make a great Crowbcat video.
I look forward to your review of the steam deck and how it stacks up power wise against the others. your review will make or break a lot of steam deck sales.

Just realized that of all those handheld pcs, the Steam Deck is the only one with a button layout I wanna use. Shouldn't be that hard to fix analog stick placement and would do a lot to make the device more comfortable.
Please show more egpu games and benchmarks, not sure why people overlook how awesome a feature this is on such a portable device of this size. Also, why do people say the 5.5" is a negative, it is same size as a switch light and 1" bigger than a psp vita and even bigger than a 3ds and psp in which nobody ever complained about. As a Win3 owner the biggest drawback is the screen color, it def needs a color profile and some games do not scale properly.
This device is sick and all but... with the insane price and the Deck around the corner, it just seems irrelevant to me. Why would I buy this now when I could just wait a little for the SD
As I understand it people will have trouble getting the steam deck all the way to 2022, at some point it might be an alternative (I mean if you consider how much scalped Steam Decks will be going for).
Regardless of when the supposed date moves to, it's not out yet, so lots can change before then to push the date back up or the supply could be to low for demands making the likelihood of many people getting the steam deck within the next year is still low, as we've already seen scalpers will be all over the thing just to sell then for just as much as this on Ebay same as they've been doing for months with PS5s and Xbxs. Unless I were in the first couple thousand or so to pay in full, I'd be surprised to see a steam deck before 2022.
The Asian market is much bigger than its Western counterpart where companies like GPD, Aya and One Notebook dominate. Asians have a huge appetite for handhelds and the Steam Deck isn't sold there. Not only that it relies on AMD supply so it will suffer shortages just like the PS5/XSX consoles, no wonder most people won't get their units before Q3/2022. I feel like this demo was done docked where you can bump performance and not in any hand held mode testing, battery life testing or various tdp testing. There was no 3rd party softwares tested either to try and boost performance in hand held mode. This is just a raw plugged in chip test at 30.
But the memory for a high end steam deck is just 512GB and not upgradable. If there's a 1TB steam deck, it would be at a similar price. (Not to mention that it was cheaper in Indigogo)
@@ETlandxoxo What are you talking about? It just uses an M.2 NVMe SSD. It's not like the storage is soddered onto the motherboard. There's also a MicroSD slot for more storage too. And no, based on Valve's pricing structure, it would not be a similar price. $750-$800 is what I would guess a 1TB Steam Deck would go for, and that's very different than $1300, sorry.
@@CreatorPolarif those games are not too heavy to load from micro SD cards, then it's ok. But I was just talking about a fair price comparison. BTW, imagine plugging in a portable SSD to Steam deck, it would be even more difficult to hold/handle. i.e. losing the meaning of being a handheld
Give us more options and SKUs GPD. - Sure, have smaller, cheaper “pocketable” budgetable Win 3s etc.... but also offer LARGER (that have much larger screens), bigger handle grips, bigger specs with bigger batteries models for those who have bigger budgets. I like the GPD Win Max, but I wish there were bigger Win3 form factors with larger screens that would slide up further to reveal a bigger spacier keyboard.
The size is what attracts me to it, I'm one of those weirdos who prefers the Switch Lite to the OG. And I consider the Steam Deck just too big...I'm hoping the Win 3 will come down in price with the Deck. I had a Win 2 but anything that requires the D-Pad is unplayable with it because the strange position the keyboard forces them to be, I like the solution, I don't use the keyboard other than entering my logins on Steam and GoG, if I want to check the web I just pull my smartphone and unless adapted, traditional mouse&keyboard games just won't play well on it anyway, too cumbersome to emulate the mouse with the stick. Thankfully, more and more games have perfectly fine gamepad UIs, like Divinity 2, XCom, Disco Elysium, Desperados 3 and such!!. This kind of slower games, I play them with a pad if I can even on the big screen PC. I would like an emulation video, this should run CEMU and some RPCS3. In any case, whatever you may think of this, Aya, Deck... it's incredible how far we have come in just a few years. I was here during the Intel Atom days, they couldn't even run RU-vid! Lol
I really like the design and form factor of this.... and although the performance is great and all, the total CPU draw of 25W-30W is not ideal for battery life and portable play. A lot of games should honestly be locked to 30fps at same settings, to decrease power draw and increase battery life. :)
For me it’s always ps3 emulation I want to see with these handheld PCs. That’s what’s tempting me the most with these devices, having a portable PS3 and a PC.

Screen is way too small. Switch screen barely cuts it and is bigger. I really like playing games like Skyrim on my switch, but even then, I feel the screen size is severely limiting for what you can take in detail wise. For as big as something like a Steam Deck is, they should have found a way to pack a 7.5-8 inch screen in.
