I don't know why you would spend thousands of dollars to restore your grandmother's Ranger pickup, and turn around and take a beautiful unrestored car and rip it apart and turn it into something it would never meant to be. Not to mention it'll never handle or drive like it was manufactured to do it's just plain a disaster awaiting to happen. Perhaps you should have put 427 Ford big block and your grandmother's Ranger and turned it into a 10-second Street racer

@@rwilson2863 Not everything needs to be a perfect restoration, and not everything needs to be a restomod. There is room for both. The v8 is only like 100lbs heavier than the old inline 4

This should be the first video in the Celica 2UZ playlist. Really sets the context for the project and is critical for understanding the rest of the work. This is great content, love how Sarah has been able to infuse personal connections into this and the Ranger projects. It really adds a more engaging element besides trying to build a rad car/truck.

I totally get the nostalgia aspect of the project. I like that you are saving your dad's engine. I was hit by a bus a year ago and it totalled my 1993 Chevy dually. I saved the whole drive line and I am turning the frame and bed into a trailer. That truck saved my life.

Wow, this is a really unique project! It's great that it'll have another piece of family history with the engine from your Dad's truck to go along with your Gram's Ranger. This is practically the exact concept of a classic muscle car: a relatively small car with a torquey V8 under the hood. With the car being so much lighter than the Lexus models that use other members of the same engine family, I bet it'll be downright quick, too.

Wooow this is incredible! Awesome choice and fantastic it's different than what everyone else on RU-vid is doing. Would way rather watch this than another new BMW or something, hahaha. Definitely more exciting than another LS or K series swap as well. Nice treasure trove in the trunk. Really cool the last owner took such good care of it. Despite the car being pretty nice and original, I fully support the swap. One of the best possible combos and all in the Toyota family. Really excited for this!

I bet that poor Celica's chassis is going to flex like crazy under 325lb/ft at only 3400rpm! My biggest respect and best of luck to you on this new project, Sarah. Greetings from Spain!
