I lost it when Mei Ling tried to explain "Rashness brings success to few, and disaster to many", but DSP cuts her off with some "chingy chang wong wang STFU bitch" stuff, and then IMMEDIATELY gets himself killed rushing into a trap. It's just so unbelievably perfect. It's almost like poetry.

His playthru of MGS2 is arguably more infuriating. My "favorite" part is when he picks up the SOCOM suppressor (labeled Scm. Spr.) and he's all like "Succum supper...sucum suppr...what the hell is a succum supper?" And someone from chat says its the SOCOM suppressor and he goes "I don't even have a sokahm!" while literally scrolling past the gun in his inventory.

DSP figured out how to beat every MGS game without using stealth even once. Also he played the first 75% of MGS2 without using even one ration. You try playing without using stealth or using any rations. He is a genius. He could use stealth if he wanted to. It would make it to easy for him.

Phil called that Scientist who's inspiration for building robots come from anime, a loser. Yet he sounds like a sexually depraved old man who discovered the many "uses" of the internet, with his constant "Take your top off!" comments toward female video game characters, and etc. And he was probably the first person to even think about "tentacle genitals" during that particular scene. You are allowed the right to have a harmless opinion, but being a hypocrite does not make a person look better.

We all know Mei Ling, a positive depiction of a Chinese woman who is intelligent, wise, and innovative… a great character in a videogame released in 1998; and then there’s Phil who is decades behind and can’t stand hearing an accent without mocking it with such disrespect for less than even a second. Also, I love how he clearly can’t tell the difference between Japanese accents and Chinese accents based on how he tries to mock her half the time.

DSP is a literal train wreck that I just can't look away from.

The KWO thing is the perfect example of Phil making a rare decent joke, but then in typical Phil fashion, he says it a million times to where it loses all humor and becomes irritating. He doesn’t understand humor. He repeats jokes a thousand times and laughs at his own jokes every time. These are two huge comedy no-nos.

The fact that Phil had a silenced pistol and still opted to run up to enemies to grab them boggles my mind. It's a STEALTH game. He wouldn't have gotten caught so many times if he used the tools he has (including the cardboard box to hide) and paid attention to the freaking radar.

Phil logic: stealth=shoot everyone combat=run around like sheep.

Seeing Psycho Mantis annihilate DSP even though he knew the controller trick was fucking gold.

This is without a doubt one of the biggest pieces of human garbage I've ever had the disgrace of watching in my life. It's like something you can't stop watching because you think the last moment you saw was the most offensive, inane failure you've ever seen, only for the NEXT moment to top it. Back in 2017, I've only known of the MGS series from a friend who has played all of them and just got 5. After telling me I should give it a try and after watching about 30 mins into MGS3, I decided to play MGS1. I downloaded an emulator on my computer and an iso of MGS (I personally would have gone with an actual ps1 but circumstances wouldn't allow me to) binded the controls to my keyboard, bios setup, and all that and ran the game. I selected easy difficulty and so the game begins, I got through the elevator intro, the cell shootout, and got to the Ocelot boss fight. I died about 3 times before actually defeating Ocelot. I felt a bit bad about that cause I was on EASY difficulty and died multiple times. Nevertheless, I still continued on. After doing some more sneaking and getting more gear, and failing to get past the lasers in the doorway and thus dying again. Afterward, I got past that and so began the battle with Vulcan Raven. I went into the battle not know what to do and not consulting the codec (I know that's my own fault). I died around 10 times trying to take down Raven with the FAMAS only getting perhaps one shot. After dying that many times I quit the game for the day. Not quitting in the sense of a rage quit but I was sad and ashamed that I was performing so poorly on the easiest difficulty. Later that day I looked up playthroughs of MGS and found out you take out Raven with grenades and also that you can consult via codec for advice. It was at this point I felt REALLY ashamed of myself, admittedly even tearing up a little, and didn't play the game for a good week. Keep in mind I've had limited experience in video games, if memory is correct I've only finished one game at that point. But after recouping from that I went back into the game and defeated Raven. I slowly progressed through the game. Consulting with Campbell and the others when I was stuck, boss battles became easier to finish, and I became more confident in myself. Although I still died at times I felt a bit better since I knew what to do and could adjust my method. In the end, I had completed the game although my stats could've been better. I still felt a little ashamed at my performance but not as bad. Scrolling through youtube, I found this little gem. And in just a few minutes of watching the video, my negativity about myself was washed away completely. This guy is just the worst. I don't even know what to say, the comments already say most of my thoughts. But what got me the most riled up was him making jokes (some racist some in just poor taste) and just making noise during cutscenes and codec conversations. I'm fine with people talking in cutscenes. This guy has no sense of etiquette or respect for either the game or the audience. The one moment that pissed me off the most was during Sniper Wolf's death. By the time the cutscene ended, I was in tears. I had felt so sorry for Wolf, her being raised on the battlefield, seeing her family and friends dying everyday around her, and I felt sad about killing her in the end. Then this fool comes in and makes sex, rape, and necrophilia jokes that aren't even the slightest bit funny or entertaining. This "man", more like a child, is over twice my age and yet his attitude is this bad which is just astounding. I know I don't have the best attitude either but at least I don't whine, complain, make unnecessary and unfunny jokes or even disrespect the developers when I do fail. But at the end of the day, I can still feel better since I'm not this guy and am not raging at every minute and every problem I have among other issues this "man" has. And I look forward to playing the rest of the games in the series, mainly 2 & 3, whenever that is. I can't use my laptop since it is just too low powered, nor can I use a console. I want to play the other games so badly. So I either may have to get a better laptop or I'm thinking of buying a PS Vita and getting the HD collection due to it being relatively cheaper. Anyway, thank you for reading this as long as it is. Update Jan. 2021: Finally played 2,3, PW, and just recently finished 5 over the course of this last couple of months. Loved playing them all and now all I have left is MGS4 (unless you count PO). My experience from playing them is largely the same as I've said above. I've laughed, I've cried, got frustrated from failing. All and all I've enjoyed my time. Which is more than what I would say of Phil here. I didn't spend so much time watching the other TIHYDP so I can preserve whatever of my sanity was left (this last year has been rough). I'm sure I'm gonna do a replay soon. :)

Honestly insane how much DSP just shits all over this game for being cinematic and having these (for the time) innovative and next level cutscenes. When I played MGS1 I hadn’t played an OG PlayStation game at all that had that level of cinematography; I had only played the RE Trilogy, Crash, Spyro and all the other classics. Lot of cutscenes were either pre-rendered entirely, or just a fixed camera angle with the characters moving a tiny bit. I was honestly blown away by the fact that MGS1 looked as good as it did without pre-rendered backgrounds alone, seeing the camera move and mimic all these filmic effects shocked me more. And here’s the twist; I didn’t play this game when it was new. I only just recently started playing PS1 games as a matter of fact, I emulated it just like DSP. I only had a PS2 as a kid and none of the others, I was in a Nintendo family. So the fact that I was totally stunned by this game even though I’ve seen much better technology from decades later was insane to me. And even more crazy is DSP having played way more games than I ever will in my lifetime, then for some reason being absolutely unable to appreciate this game’s phenomenal story and raw technological talent. Honestly had me peeved way more than it ever should’ve.
