When you say "It was in Australia" I hear "I didn't have to deal with Ebay Global Shipping giving my product the ol' slash n dash" and it makes me relieved for you lol
I also have it, it's so good! I also have their Bluetooth DAC, it's very handy with the jack disappearing from phones. I also use their TOSLINK DAC on my TV, it's much better than the cheap noname DACs
Lmao my E10k's volume knob died and it only outputs on the left channel now. Weird because my friend's E10k still works after 6 years. I guess I just got unlucky.
Also have a Bluetooth adaptor for my M50s. Works perfectly well. I can obviously hear the difference in audio quality (wired vs wireless) but I guess that's what happens when you can tell the difference between Spotify and CD.
This will because of Apples claim on the touch sensing scroll wheel. I used to design them for Synaptic and we had to only design scroll wheels for Apple or face losing their custom. We owned the rights to it (but gave/dealt/sold it to Apple) to keep their huge custom and the weird factor our stock value was directly linked to theirs.
Love your videos! I am also a drummer ( not in your league!) and music lover! I do college iPods but to me my Sony WM 6C with headphone amp just sounds the best! Horribly inconvenient but hey! 😂😂 Keep up the great content! 🥁🥁
I have a fiio bluetooth adaptor. Connect it to phone or TV, very small, very loud and good bass, more than my phone can give. It's very good. Had it for half a year.
I really dont card about iPod modding in the slightest. But man your videos are the best mate xD You're just so entertaining naturally. Love your channel, keep it up!
After finding this channel im just confused, do people actually use these things? Like do people carry around a separate device for music? Is it just audiophiles or do regular people do this? I cant comprehend it
I think they were trying to capture the pun in their Chinese tagline (音乐,乐无限) which when directly translated is "music, infinite happiness". The second character of "music" is written the same as that for "joy/happy" (even though the pronunciation is different), maybe they eventually thought it was just too awkward in english?
Upon seeing this video: "Oh, FiiO! I've heard of them and I think they were pretty good, I wonder what they're making now?" I now have one of their M11 series. I blame you for this. -But not really though...-
I work in the electronics industry, and as much of a game changer as tiny surface mount devices are, big chonky components always give me an almost warm and fuzzy feeling. They bring my back to my childhood of taking apart busted radios and such to see how they work.
The fact that the first 2 songs you showed were daft punk and gorillaz, is 100% the reason I'm going check out your other vids cuz you obviously have good taste
Daft Punk and Gorillaz are good, but they're fairly popular, so the odds of him having them are rather high. Casiopea, on the other hand, is more of an indicator he has a fine taste.
Yes I only watch videos from people who share the same taste in music as I do because that will definitely effect their ability to show me stupid iPod accessories.
the blood test came back and i have a heart condition called svt (supraventricular tachycardia), ive been taking 20mg antenalol twice a day and my heart rate has been fine ever since i started them, thanks for the heart you legend ❤️
9:27 there are 4 standard of sd card: SD: 1 MB to 2 GB SDHC: 2 GB to 32 GB SDXC: 32 GB to 2 TB SDUC: 2 TB to 128 TB Since none of this standard ends in 128 Gb, this device can probably support all the way up to 2 Tb “It can only support xxx Gb” it’s a thing manufacturer says based on the highest capacity Sd card AT THE TIME OF MAKING; in reality it can support always one of those standards. It may not support a higher capacity because it doesn’t have enough ram? But I highly doubt that
classyfenn the highest capacity micro-sd card on the market is 1 Tb, SDUC is just the standard, but for now the technology to produce those cards is not available
I do remember some devices being limited to smaller capacities than the theoretical maximum of its standard. Not sure the reason, but I'm sure it was a thing.
my iPhone 7’s battery lasts less than our aunts relationships i’m talking about OUR aunts because all of us have that 1 aunt that is currently having a break up or divorce over zoom and about to get into her 20th relationship
Is the iPod touch at a similar price point? Because the M11 is quite expensive. The M6 and new M3 pro are way cheaper and physically similar to the iPod but smaller.
@@austing5951 You can get an iPod Touch 6th Gen (which has iPhone 6 hardware in it, excluding the cellular stuff) used for around 100-200 bucks. I believe the 7th gen is like 300 or 400 bucks new, so not much cheaper than a brand new Fiio M11.
While the M6 is more in line with the price of an iPod touch, i’d day it’s inferior performance wise. By that I mean it will have a much slower UI when compare to an iPod touch/iPhone. I even had a fiio m9 for a while and it was still quite slow. It sounded great, but when I upgraded to the M11, it was lightning fast and sounded amazing. Unfortunately, a lot of high end DAPs are still sub par in terms of UI compared to modern day cell phones. We are so used to everything being lightning fast and instantaneous with our phones, but that’s why m11 has the perfect balance of usability and sound quality.
I have the same experience. I think a tiiiiny bit of sand found it's way into my scroll wheel and it tends to "hang" when rotating it now and then. The wheel on the X5 is much better. But I baby that thing so I don't know how it holds up..
You can actually use the scroll wheel to control the volume on the X1; you just need to hit a volume button first to see the volume level and then you can adjust your volume like ZOOOOOM-just be careful if you have something on your ears while you do it! You can also adjust in the settings to where you can use different buttons while the screen is locked with the power button: No buttons, Only Volume, or all face buttons IIRC.
Please, please compare an LG V20,V30 or V40 to these three players, I'll even loan my V30 out to you for that video. If you're unaware the V series phones by LG feature an ESS sabre 32 bit "quad dac"
Lg g&v series are great for startup into audiophile scene. But using thus devices even that fiio x1 is like ur into a real audiophile world. I have fiio x3ii and ibasso dx160 together with lgv40. The biggest difference? Soundstage. Wider, more details, and that bass😍.
I had a LG v30 The Fiio is better. Get the x7 mark ii with amp modules. I use with Shure 846's and my Sennheiser’s and is a whole another level. Pretty much a good mastered track sounds like your there as way better sound staging and quite noticeable.
I remember knowing someone who's MP3 player didn't stop at the bottom of the list, and had a mechanical scroll wheel just like this. They asked me to find a song and I genuinely spent five minutes scrolling through a single album before I realised.
I bought mine in 2014, threw it in the closet until recently when I needed something for work. The thing is a beast, and still holds a great charge to this day 7 years later.
I was scoping out a FiiO X1 on eBay. Before this video dropped the bidding was at $15. It is now sitting at $61 and out of my price range. I call it the Dankmus effect.
Is it just me that I find dankpods videos so entertaining and addictive at the same time ? It’s really a shame that he only posts a new video once a week because I’m his biggest fan ever
I'm so glad you made a video about this! I have one of these and I was actually hoping you would do a video on it since it seemed so weird and out there at the time. Very high quality feeling device for the price. Back in the day I paired this up with ATH-M50's (The originals, not the m50x or m50s) and it was the perfect combo for poor high schooler audiophile. Loved this thing till the wheel died.
I'm assuming that you make the background loops, and i love how I can hear the gorillaz influence like this had hints of Rock the House in It and I love it
I love that you're reviewing DAPs like Fiio. The updated version is actually still purchasable new for a single "hundge" from a site called Drop. They have a sale on the Fiio X3 Mark III for $99 currently. They also have headphones like the Hifiman HE4XX, Sennheiser HD6XX, and Beyerdynamic DT 177X GO headphones for very reasonable prices which are collaborations with each respective companies on their popular HE400, HD650, and DT 1770 headphones but for $130, $200, and $450 versus $450, $500, and $600 MSRP. They also used to have an AKG 7XX headphone which was a collaboration on the K702 which was available for $200. Great site for audiophiles looking for great gear on the cheap. The site's Chief Product Officer is a huge audiophile/audio nerd so he gets a lot of things for the site. For one instance, they're making their own headphones this time around after buying the rights to the OPPO PM-3 driver tech. They made the Panda which is supposed to be a high res bluetooth planar ribbon headphone that's acoustically tuned.
Still rocking my Fiio X1 2nd Gen five years after I bought it. This was one of the first things I gifted myself with my first salary. Was way too costly for me back then, but it has been totally worth it. My only complaint is that over the years, the UI has not always been itsstrong feature in terms of responsiveness. But still, this + BTR5 is a damn good combination.
I GOT ONE OF THESE MAN! I got mine in mid... Maybe late 2016? Picked it up for about $90 Canadian, and it's done me well. They are fantastic little doohickeys for what they are! Mine has been working hard for me, pairs really well with my SE215's, ATH-M50x's, HD280's or DT-990 Pro's. You are 100% correct though, the difference is in the headphones. If you get one of these and have just regular old lint-lined junk drawer headphones, it's gonna sound exactly like you expect. These really crave a nice set of headphones, and it seems to drive high ohm rigs really well!
