I told a 16 year old friend of mine that I was gonna invite him over to play the original Battlefront game and he thought I was referring to Battlefront 2015.
Hahaha yea I think the 16 year olds wouldnt get it, but I am 19 now and I still remember playing the game as it was a big part of my childhood playing it splitscreen. I just hope the servers for the port over to next gen will be good.
@@BerserkerErikMy 11 year old nephew knows the difference between original Battlefront and EA Battlefront. I let him borrow my copies of OG Battlefront 1 and 2. He enjoyed them.
Loved how in the offline space battles the AI comrades would actually jump in the transport ship with me and we become a landing party on the enemy ship even tho they usually died not long after we boarded it was pretty cool that they would follow like that.
@@CommanderRedEXE that's why you gotta land, take off, and then land again inside the enemy hangar. Taking off and landing again boots that last guy out of the ship
@@ThisIsMadnessMan You would need to do this until the last AI in the ship gets out. I never experienced a friendly AI stealing it after that, but maybe that's because they all died.
as an rts fan; empire at war and such, it would be a breath of fresh air for a new strategy game to see starwars again. with all the locales and technology its one of my favorite genres cause i get to nerd out and use those sometimes rare sighted starships (B-wing, hammerhead, and tie-defender). i dont need it to be like x-com but i am comfy knowing that so many veterans of it are on this- whether it is or not i know itll be fun.
Empire at War was fixed to run better and on modern systems, and there's loads of mods to change it to any era of Star Wars(or even Mass Effect and Halo etc if you want) you want to play during. We don't need a new game as no one would ever make anything close to EaW.
Nice job pointing out that the trailer does have Ventress with her correct weapon stance, I saw a few videos talking about this that did not catch that/bring it up!
@@Spic 1313 got canned and the recently bounty hunter game that EA also canned. So Bounty Hunter with Jango Fett being a prequel to Episode 2 AOTC (probably non canon now) is the only one that got made
I guess i understand why they had to "steal" as placehold, it would've been a bit more difficult to start with finding and converting old hardware stuff (the Original Xbox scripting, which the console itself is already like 2 decades old) into the newer consoles and Pc
It would have been better to leave the character out of the trailers until they dropped when the game dropped as a pleasant surprise. Or better yet, left them as a free DLC until they were ready.
@@Cappuccino_Rabbitit's not stealing if they own it already. Any mods for a game are owned by the game any time a mod is made. It's an EULA agreement when you play the game
As far as the "mod" use goes. It's not far off that they could have done the same thing as the OG mod as a placeholder (use Ayla animations on asajj model until the asajj animations were ported) and on top of that it's actually legal for the team go use mods in their game, as the distribution rights claim that "any mods or community made content using mod tools are still owned by Lucas arts" so it's within their rights to use mod content, as scummy as it would have been
Star Wars Bounty Hunter is an awesome game, but it definitely needs updated controls. Specially the bounty mechanic, which is too difficult to use during combat.
We should be signal boosting the concept of online coop and online galactic conquest while we have the chance, if not at launch at least some point down the line, as I believe it's only local for anything outside of instant action multiplayer and it'd be a huge missed opportunity to not be able to play the storymode and galactic conquest coop if it's not even suggested while they're taking feedback.
I love how all of the BF youtubers have appeared out of nowhere and all post the same exact video on the same exact day lmao. Like, by the end of today we will have 7 videos with the same title and content.
When I was a kid I use to compare the Seperatist tank to that of the Covenant Wraith tank as well as other halo and star wars vehicles. Battlefront was my first game to experience online and Halo 2 was the second.
Ohhhhh no shit, lol? Yeah, you can get them rn and play them. But these will have modern QOL updates, upgraded visuals and audio, MP support, and modernized controls. The old versions will be probably unplayable after this remaster comes out, that's how much better it's gonna be.
Yes But The collection will have XL mode (100+ bot battles on big maps) which was exclusive to PC originally, 32vs32 battles on regular modes instead of the current Xbox versions 16v16, Heroes V Villians on ALL ground maps instead of mos eielsy and Few dlc maps, Online servers, better resolution and Textures, For PS and Switch players dlc maps and Heroes that was Originally Xbox exclusive ect ect. It's A definitive Objective upgrade to what's available on Xbox rn in every way, the ONLY platform that this isn't a Big thing for is PC cause PC already has all this stuff via Mods
@@firefistgaming117 XL mode IS 32 v 32, just FYI. Anyone saying otherwise is highly misinformed. If they actually up it to 64 v 64 that would be dope, but they stated they were taking it from the PC and porting to everything so I'm assuming 32 v 32.
Speculation suggests they maybe replacing the film footage in the games with 4k versions of the same footage. That could beep up the size considerably but I also think aspyr isn't good at file compression.
Even though it was cancelled, I wish that FPS game was a Republic Commando game instead. Mandalorian is cool too though. But it's cancelled so f*ck EA.
Hot take the Mando game probably got canceled because Disney is pushing more live action mando and don’t want to potentially have confusion when it comes to those characters.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they used a similar method as the mod to get Ventress on different maps that she wasn’t originally on. Other games will clone pre-existing characters to use as a basis for a new character. Also their wording was interesting, I wonder if some popular community mods will be included too cause they said there isn’t uncredited content in the game.
But Star Wars Bounty Hunter is already available for PlayStation 4 and 5 via the PS2 Classics collection on the PlayStation Store mainly for PlayStation 4 though but it is also fully playable on the PlayStation 5 as well.
But Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2 are already available for Xbox One and Series S/X via Xbox backwards compatibility on the Xbox Store mainly for digital purchase w/ free dlc update though but is also fully playable on the original Xbox disc as well.
Holy shit I am excited for this game. I never got to play the original releases cause I was too young at the time. But it just looks like so much fun. A 64 player lobby is insane, that’s more than current next gen lobbies
Imagine being a S tier game distribution company which has exclusive rights on releasing star wars games, have a couple of promising projects (looking at you, battlefront 2 2017), only to interviene out of greed, set these projects up by forcing your priorities over devs, miserably fail at producing any decent star wars game, and then surrender and resort to trying to make some money out of games that are almost 20 years old and look like doom or call of duty 1
They'll just announce the cancellation in a month. EA made it clear that they are only focused on their own IP so all SW games under them are cancelled, it's just a matter of when they make it official.
Probably not all of them. The third Jedi game definetly wouldn't get cancelled since the first two games sold well. If the new strategy game were to get cancelled, it probably would've been by now.
Hero assault on all maps is pretty dang good tbh, 32Vs32 is a huge upgrade over the Original Xbox backwards compatibly of 16Vs16. But one thing that's new is also XL mode which was only PC exclusive prior (100+ bot battles on big maps) so We will have that which is big. The dlc on Xbox being on switch and PlayStation now also is quite new for those platform users, I feel it's a Definitive upgrade over what's available rn on Xbox in every single metric (tho PC already has all this stuff thanks to mods and what not aside from Online servers)
I did not even know about the rts game. Not sure how I feel about it. Heard the Mado game was cut in early development because they could not get mado in the mando game without paying Pedro to voice act.
I was REALLY hoping for a new Star Wars RTS game... the last one we got was Empire at war and there's already a billion X-COM clones and turn based games out there, there's really no need for more of those for the time being.
I never had any doubt that Star Wars battlefront classic collection would eventually release, even as I’m writing this, I haven’t even started watching the video yet!
You should start putting timestamps on your videos, it looks more professional and though trough at that point and we users can look in the time stamps to see if we have already seen this information elsewhere or if your first on ship to deliver the news. I follow all major starwars battlefront channels now again and its hard to know who is ahead and not. But your fast and I believe your ahead by 1 hour or so in mist cases. Well done! 👏
I thought so. I figured Aspyr would have learned their lesson from the kotor 2 dlc fiasco. But I do love the work they are doing. It's funny cuz I was just talking about bounty hunter and how I couldn't beat it as a kid. I might get that chance soon!
Lots of legal stipulations behind it, plus they likely don't want to put in the resources for a game that when completed would still look like an Xbox 360 game.
@@AlwaysVotingMAGA Bounty Hunter was only rereleased on the PS4. Just like how the Battlefronts are available via backwards compatibility to only all Xbox consoles. That was my point. If they re-rerelease again, Bounty Hunter will then be available to all consoles - just as the Battlefronts now are.
@@sideways3458 Oh ok well you seemed kinda pissed off, jeez. I had no idea they weren't on anything else. It's usually the other way around where Xbox has that stuff & PlayStation doesn't. I wish PlayStation would invest more into backwards compatibility
@@AlwaysVotingMAGA Nah, not pissed; just been throwing out sarcastic comments. There's been a few people who believe console exclusives should continue to exist. Happy to hear you're not one'a them. I'm so confused with Sony. They started backwards compatibility with PS1 - PS2, but then dropped it almost entirely for PS4 (PS3 depended on which console variant you own). Since Xbox 360, Microsoft has maintained backwards compatibility. Tis strange. While Jedi Academy and Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast are available on Xbox via backwards compatibility, they don't have the same functionality as their PS4/Switch remasters. The latter has updates and online play which is lacking on Xbox, as Xbox never got the remastered edition - only PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Super Star Wars (SNES game) was only ported on PS4, same with Bounty Hunter, and Racer Revenge. Jedi Starfighter is ported on PS4, but backwards compatible (alongside Starfighter) on Xbox. Star Wars Racer came out for all consoles. Xbox also has the original Clone Wars game, RotS, and both KOTOR / Force Unleashed titles via backwards compatibility. So unfortunately, Star Wars games have been going back and forth between consoles.
It’s great that there’s a pre-load option. I’m hoping to pre-order this AMAZING collection ON the 12th. So this gives me TWO days to preload this game. I ALWAYS pre-order games two days before it comes out, EXCEPT games like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, because THAT game had only ONE day to preload. So, it’s a good thing that I’ll be able to download this collection as SOON as I pre-order it.
I already own both games on steam but I’m thinking of buying the classic collection for the switch, so I can play Battlefront with my cousins on the go!
Bro running Xcom 2 WotC on PC with star wars mods is amazing I highly recommend it. In the middle of a campaign rn and Delta Squad is my main unit with commander Doom and his legion. Makes me insanely hyped that the same guys are working on an actual star wars game with similar mechanics.
the way they replied to the community about the mod is kinda roundabout. Sure, they may have used their own code, but the way its written, they could have still just taken the mod but this time correctly credit its creator
I hope that it’s the GameCube version as that is the definitive version of Bounty Hunter when it comes to the GameCube and PlayStation version graphics wise
I didn't know about Bit Reactor, but honestly I'm fairly excited to see what they're working on. If it is an XCOM style game, I think it could be really fun if you're playing the Rebels in an Empire controlled galaxy. That's a pretty perfect setting for an XCOM-like game Though I'll keep my expectations in check considering we know nothing about it
They confirmed themselves that they did use the mod but it was only for internal use until the proper one was ready. The final game will have the proper assets.
Bring 'Star Wars: The Galactic Battelgrounds Saga' to consoles please. It's on Steam right now. My friends and I have been playing Age of Empires II and it's getting a massive update. We're waiting for a SWGB port.
I can just imagine a Door Kicker like game just star wars would be really cool, it's a war after all so having to consider civilians as well would raise the stakes.
Xcom 2 is one of the most fun and amazing games I have played, to put it on perspective, I defeated it in all the hardest difficultys except for ironman, and I have been playing with a bunch of Star Wars mods, its so fun, hope they make something really similar as xcom, a lot of people just dont play this type of games cuz its turn based, but to be honest, you gotta be stupid to just not play them for that reason, lets not forget baldurs gate 3 won almost all awards and was praised in all internet and its a turn based strategy game at the end of the day...
Has there been any official word of support for bots in online multiplayer matches? Half the fun of BF is the slaying of bots. My concern is that the game will die online if there is no bot fill for online mp.
