This is the most extreme car detailing project of a 600,000 mile Lexus LS430. We tear the entire interior part back to a bare interior and start from the very beginning RU-vid Style!
If you've missed the first parts of this series, find it in the link below
PART 1 • I Bought a 600,000 Mil...
PART 2 • Fixing EVERY THING Wro...
PART 3 • Making The 600,000 Mil...
PART 4 • 600,000 Mile Lexus Res...

PART 6 • Making The 600,000 Mil...
PART 7 • The 600,000 Mile Lexus...
Part 8 • Totalling My 600,000 M...
Part 9 • The 600,000 Mile Lexus...
Part 10 • Final Mechanical Repai...
We finally made it this far in this project! I cannot stand driving this car for another day with the sad shape that it is in. So we partnered with ‪@ChicagoAutoPros‬ to completely restore this interior!
This project started with a total impulse buy from ‪@DougDeMuro‬'s ‪@carsandbids‬ and everything went off the rails from there! I am determined to restore this ‪@lexus‬ LS430 to it's former glory. Taking it back to the pursuit of perfection that birthed it and beyond!

Yes, I am amazed that AMD knows most steps of the disassembly process and more importantly, is able to keep track of everything needed for reassembly. I note that he is wise enough to record on video every step of what he has done so he can guide himself and his team through the reassembly process.

I'm speechless. This does show how much engineering and work went into the manufacture of quality cars, and what quality looks like. This of course was before most brands cottoned to be able to use parts made from cheese. One way to tread lightly on the planet would be to build stuff that lasts.

Outstanding! Without a garage or roof overhead I performed the micro version of this on my 2007 Regular Cab Toyota Tundra about 5 years ago when it had about 280,000 miles on it, I removed both seats, the center console, the door panels and the rear package tray. The amount of dirt, dust and debris that had collected inside the truck indicated that it's windows were left down during much of it's farm truck life, Georgia red clay dust everywhere. Removing the center console revealed sticky coffee and soda spills that soaked the carpet and center seat belt, it was nasty, but it cleaned up pretty well. Someday I would like to remove and clean more of the interior, and I would like to add sound deadening material while I am at it. Looking forward to your next installment in the 600,000 mile Lexus series.

Those speakers aren't "blown" as such, it's just that the foam surrounds have deteriorated with age. Technically a speaker is "blown" when the power input from the amplifier exceeds the capacity of the speaker and melts the speaker's voice coil. I'm learning a lot from you too so kudos. Just finished doing a very similar (although not quite as complete) cleanup on a fifteen year-old Suzuki van I bought last month. Only 68k miles/110k km... so like new compared to yours. I'm very happy to see this being done right... and then some. All the best from Japan as always, stay well.

It's 22 years old (27,300 miles/year) and probably has been moving more than stationary in it's life....and you guys pulled it back down to the "studs". That's dedication to the project!!! My 2015 Lexus RX350. Thoughts in my head of doing this....nah, I'll pay a professional like Jason. On that glass...I wondered if it was laminated (like the front windows of my RX350), but you solved that question....but wow, one tough glass!! Took a bounce. Looking forward to the next video!!

Unbelievably great job, that's a LOT of work to dissamble everything from interior, especially lexus quality. I own 2006 Lexus GS450h, and when i took out only center console and glove box, there was a ton of work and bolts, i only can imagine how much work would be to remove the dash completely, there must be thousand bolts and assembling would be almost impossible without repair manual. Very nice job! Love your commitment and cant wait to see this completed. Keep up going!

I love this series! I've done a few carpet out details in the past and it really makes a big difference to the car when you can be super thorough. One car i bought had eaten chicken wing bones in a pocket under the passengers seat... There was like 6 of them, so they didn't just accidentally get there. Cars can be gross, and as you said under the center console is the worst. Esit, forgot to include the time i'm commenting before 16:20

17:24 Look at all that factory sound deadening around the transmission tunnel and on the front footwell area. These are black thick mass loaded vinyl with closed cell foam on the other side. It is no wonder these cars are so quiet. I sound deadened my 2022 4Runner and it doesn't look anywhere close to how well insulated the LS430 is from factory. Again at 22:22, a massive piece of factory mass loaded vinyl behind the backseat. Same for 34:36, the entire firewall is insulated. I'm so jealous. There is no way to sound deaden the firewall without ripping everything apart, and the LS430 did it from the factory. I also see sound absorbing fiber pads literally everywhere: inside door panels, under the carpet, and even on top of the glove box (5:43). Also notice the factory applied vibration damping pads on the floor. These appear to be actual real butyl dampening pads, not the spray on crap that all car manufactures use these days which are hard as rock.

Wow. I have a 2001 with the eureka trim, looks like grey Birdseye maple. And a cream interior with the same colour carpet. You called the colour of car interior eureka.[?] I believe the interior in that one is ivory. I think the eureka was only available when you had the ultra premium luxury package, which my car has. Levelling suspension, radar, adaptive, cruise control, double pane, glass, laminate, rear seat adjustment + memories for rear seat positions in the doors, armrest console controls for many features, etc. ,,,, I didn’t know my seats had the air bags in them, wow. That was a very comprehensive interior disassembly, obviously I’m saving the video because it shows me how to do everything. Thank you so so much John. I can’t believe you went to that extent.
