I eat the keto diet, and have lost 80 pounds ! And have kept my weight off for 2 years. My blood pressure was very high about 200/120, my weight was 245 lbs. I was diagnosed with Metabolic Syndrome, and Fatty Liver Disease from all the bad carbs I have eaten through the years ! As of 3/ 2022, I have completely reversed my Metabolic Syndrome, Fatty Liver Disease, and all my labs are within normal range ! My BP is now 130/80, and my BP medication has been lowered to 1 medication of Lisinopril 40 mg. everyday. The medication will be discontinued next month, if my BP improves. I can't believe the vagueness of the Dietary information in this video. I am also off 5 of my medications. I take my thyroid medication and BP medication only. Why not talk about Keto, Low Carb diet ?

What are your thoughts regarding consuming extra virgin olive oil? I take the capsules. I hear different reviews regarding it. Should we consume olive oil?

what is your BP when not taking Lisinopril? 130/80 is not high blood pressure. The only organization that says 120/80 is normal is those being funded by big Pharma. FACT!

Most high blood pressure is caused by a bad diet, smoking, and heavy drinking. That in turn causes damage to the inside of the arteries. When the arteries don't flex properly from this damage, that causes high blood pressure.

High triglycerides are caused by too many sugary carbs and other high carb foods.. Cut the carbs and watch how quickly triglycerides drop. Not caused by eating bacon and eggs and meat as is being depicted in the imagery when she speaking of triglycerides . I know this from my own experience. Go to “doctors to trust” if you really want informative knowledge. Would suggest more protein and fat in the form of meat, eggs and such like.

A point they missed among many is to have the fasting insulin level checked. Just because the blood glucose level is normal doesn't mean the insulin level isn't elevated or high as the pancreas is working overtime to keep the blood sugars under control. If you wait until your blood sugar levels are outside of the normal range, it's too late by about 10-years. To improve the HDL levels, you need to consume more saturated fat. Unfortunately, the graphics they use while talking about triglycerides is not the real culprit. The real culprit for metabolic syndrome is insulin resistence which is caused by carbohydrates, sugars, fructose, etc not the fats. It's estimated that 60% some of the American people have insulin resistance in some form. If you follow the AHA (American Heart Association) or ADA (American Diabetes Association) recommended food guidelines, you'll not only will you not reverse your insulin resistance\diabetes\heart disease\high blood pressure\inset your condition here, but you'll just progressively get worse.

I've got relatively low HDL. It's usually in the 30 - 37 range. I'm into cycling and eat a mostly vegetarian diet which results in a total cholesterol that is very low, approximately 100 or below. I've tried to raise it by increasing consumption of olive oil and nuts but to no effect.

wow - have you looked at all cause mortality plotted against total cholesterol? higher TC promotes longevity! Its inflammation that causes heart disease, so check those inflammation markers, your ratio of HDL to triglycerides, your ratio of small oxidized LDL particles to large undamaged and your actual coronary calcification via CAC scan. "Notice what's NOT working and do ANYTHING different". God bless ❤️🙏❤️

this is simply life threatening. Your all cause mortality risk is 2.5 times higher, at least, as compared to a healthy level. note that pure vegetarian diet is a bad ideology. It kills you. Yet, even on your vegitarian det you may implement serious vitamin deficiencies. if you don't want to die before 60 and suffer, start tracking your food with the app cronometer to get an overview. Then adjust your diet until your intake provides you appropriately with nutrients, outside of ideology. There are 5 remedies for that: avocados, sardines and coconut oil + butter + 3 eggs a day. Additionally you are likely eating to much fruits.

@@monnoo8221 What are you talking about? Since I wrote this I've come to learn that HDL levels have no health consequences what so ever at least with respect to cardiovascular disease. Vegetarian/vegan diets are pretty much the healthiest diets you can possibly eat although I don't think eating a modest amount of lean meat, especially fish, is going to make you less healthy.

yes, of course ... avoid saturated fats... why? and a salty, fried bacon is not representative for saturated fat. 20% of all fat should be saturated, if you are not eating much fat, but 100% extra virgin olive oil is also ok :) , if you consume 55%+ of your calories as MUFA.

Man taler hele tiden om et for højt blodtryk - hvis det er over 130 over 80. Dette uden hensyntagen til alder, hvor det normalt er (naturligt/acceptabelt) ikke så lidt højere. Refererer til artikel/foredrag af professor Robert B Baron fra Universiti of California. Det syntes jeg og mener er en mere realistisk udlægning og ikke for nogle ligeså skræmmende !!!
