As someone who's seen that one Japanese dude make an absolute fool out of this entire game with the croc cap on, this takes second place for most blatant and creative abuse of game mechanics yet still done in a realistic way.

I’ve played this game enough times to have mechanics and enemies memorized almost to this extent, but I’ve always loved just being a pure ghost; no alerts, no sightings, no kills, using my binos to watch enemies and moving as slowly as possible, very occasionally chatting with the support crew (usually if I had Snake stop to eat). Always considered it the canon way to play.

Controlling this game feels like a mix between an airplane and a balancing act. The skill this bro got.

I never used the knocking much, but ill never forget first being shown MGS3 and just before getting into the labs walled courtyard my brothers friend sets tnt/claymore, knocks on the door, says "Girl scout cookies!" and dives into some grass. A guard will actually come through from the other area and set off the claymore.

Amazing!! That right there is why you're the best boss!

And some people say you can only make different aproaches in Phantom Pain... i always played like rambo since MGS1

Man I remember playing this back in the day on PS2. I beat this game so many times. This use to be my favorite game of all time. That part where you lure the guard out, climb the ladder and drop down on him from above. I use to do that exact same thing. I had a very particular way of playing this game. Great times. And great memories.

As a kid, i didn't understood this game was ment to be Stealth and i start to go crazy and kill and shoot everything until now i understood i have to sneak my way in, as MGS and PS2 veteran, i prove your skills. You're pretty good.

I've been playing games for almost 40 years, and I was lucky enough to play and/or review all of the MGS games when they were originally released. Over the last 20 years, I've gone through each of them systematically, looking for every trick and secret, and posting them on GameFAQs. MGS3 is one of my all-time favorite games, which is not something I say lightly. If you want to get extra creative with the guards, you can also sneak up and attach TNT to their backs. It's especially fun if you have infinite ammo.

I never realised you could shoot the soldier's radios, that's such a good detail. And it gives you a reason to use the 1911 if you're trying not to kill anyone

I just got into this game. Im 12 hours in and all ive done is crawl around. I had no idea you could move bodies

Not sure if you know, but you can use the d pad movement in 3 to move silently but slower, this would let you move up close enough to grab a guard without them hearing you. I noticed you shot two guys to give you room to walk up to them, this would solve that issue. Cool approach overall though, I like your style!

For as janky and unrefined as certain aspects of MGS3 can be, I'll always adore it as one of the most mechanically deep games in the stealth genre. This coupled with what I consider to be the franchise's best writing, makes MGS3 easily my favourite Metal Gear by a mile.
