Fishgum. I clicked on your video because I was wondering what big fish it was and what the "costly" mistake was. After watching the entire video I realized there was neither on this video. Don't lie about your content. I was gonna subscribe but that made me change my mind. Js
@@brianwills4398 Yer right , everythings bigger in California , they got em 50 feet wide & ten feet tall , and they cruise the sidewalks devouring homeless people. Nancy Pelosi & Tony Fauchi put out a mandate they gotta wear masks & can only eat Trump fans. 🙄
Lol. He's in over his head! The guy was clearly not in above his head. You yelling out your catches to everyone on the beach like they came there to watch you fish is also quite entertaining.
Dude … here’s a crazy idea … maybe actually hold the fish you caught up, so the viewer can actually see it. Radical idea, I know!!! “Oh man! Another huge ladyfish!” (Said by fisherman, while the viewer only sees the fish’s head) Dude, one of the “nice size” fish caught, I literally never saw once, not even a fin, and I’m watching on an 85” tv!
I'll be keeping an eye on you to catch some good number of pompano soon so I've got a heads up they're headed south toward me. Looking forward to the coming migration. I've gotten stocked up on all my terminal tackle and rigs tied and bought some nice 13's this year. Going to try some fishgum I'm still a bigger believer in live bait but want to give them a shot. What colors would your recommend for the Daytona/New Smyrna area. Mostly green water with occasional blue water.
Why yes, absolutely great advice. I live in Nor California, and you do not get into the water, w/out a wet suit on. But on most beaches the waves and undertow will quickly drag you into 55 degree water (sometimes colder). We get people swept off of jetties, that regularly die here, as well. Y'all have great water there, I must say. But...we do have our steelhead and salmon runs though. Have never shore fished at the ocean. Must try it. Have to find a calmer bay though. That Pacific is one crazy and dangerous thing sometimes.
I live in South Africa and seeing how fishing is done in USA compared to here is amazing. Everything is totally different, your fish fish stocks are amazing!!!!!!!!. I noticed your spool with the blue braid is winding on unevenly, be careful of wind knots as i had that problem until i was informed. Thanx for a cool episode
Stepping on a stingray barefoot and getting stung took the fun out of wade fishing for me. At least in water that I can't see through. Stingray sting hurt , worse than you'd imagine.
ohhh, yes! In '84 I went surfing and stepped on one and he stabbed me in the lower calf. ouchies!! the ER sewed me up, but left the barb in there. I got a bit of gangrene. a different ER dug out the barb and the dead meat. the skin graft fell off. now, 37 years later the scar is almost gone. brutal.
My guy just jealous the other dude out fished him lol 😂 if I was running out of line bet your azz I would have done the same thing . I once hooked a beast that took all my line I couldn’t stop it even used my thumb to slow down the reel . I think it was a shark because it didn’t stop once I set the hook it swam back to hell .
😃 ha! When you were saying "keep your feet planted firmly" I thought you about to say " in the gospel of peace"! #fullarmorofgod I thoroughly enjoyed this video
I caught a nice whiting which surprised me on a MR17 mirror lurer in the creek network next to Sunset Beach NC bridge! Then got a keeper spec trout soon after on the same mirror lurer in May of this year.
When catching big reds I sometimes have to follow them down the beach otherwise you can't get them over the last sandbar. I'm fishing without another person fishing in sight. Just have to run down the beach forty miles or so to get away from the crowds.
no such thing as a "nice" string ray imo! I saw a ray this big circling my line at the Sunset Beach NC pier in May. I pulled my line in carefully, did not want to hook a big ray from the pier and disrupt everyone's fishing!
@@markernst2129 lol- They just get a bad rap because people know nothing about them. One just needs to know how to handle them. Great shark bait too. I just let em go though.
Good Lord dog..... The biggest thrill fish I get is a channel catfish in freshwater Illinois. Y'all are nonchalantly reeling in beasts of the deep blue sea!!
Maybe your knot broke, or the fished turned or your line was nicked by another fish between you and the one you had on. Might be the weak spot in your line where the guide on the end of your rod weakened it when you're not fishing? The last one most people never think of or realize. But you can see it when you unhook the line to start fishing, there is always a kink where the end of your rod is in your line. I learned about it watching a test about the differences in fishing line ,and things that can cause weak spots...
Nah man, you're right on with not getting in the water, but sometimes you have to walk down the beach. I live in the Savannah GA area, we get huge sharks in the surf. I'm talking 7ft+ 350lbs+ range fish. If you're using a 6000-8000 size reel and hook into those, it'll spoil you in no time. I've had many shark be maybe 50 yards on the beach he beach, but run 300 yards out on me parallel to the beach in no time. Sometimes you've got to give chance down the beach
@@momoniji6439 My best Padre Idland beach shark was 10' -7". My best from a jetty wss 11ft even at Port Aransas, TX. I won a Penn 16/O reel on the eleven footer.
What am I missing here? That sting Ray looked like it was a couple feet across. When I snorkeled in south Florida I regularly swam right over them in 4-10 feet of water that were 6+ feet across.
@@rojoperro310 Yeah this vid is total BS,not even going to bother to look at their other vids. One thing though as mentioned at the end,you do not go chasing the fish like the dolt did in the video and you def don't go in the water chasing it.Another thing you don't do is get in the water with the ray like the Fishgum dolt did.One quick shot and that ray could have embedded it's barb in him.Maybe he should change the channel to Fishdolt...
@@rojoperro310 yea and how he said that guy was WAY out there and its so dangerous.. lol ok dude! he does know that people go all the way out and swim in the water while they catch right?
When catching stingray . When they stick themselves to the floor . Strum your line with your fingers it will bring the stingray back up and speed the process of the fight
@@FishGum Thanks for the info ... I heard some bad things about beyond braid (that's what I thought it was) but it actually steered me away from purchasing it and I just went with my normal power pro on my last replacement. Have you had any issues?
Hey nice video! Don't pay attention to the complainers. Was that a 5 or 6000 reel?, and what was the test line strength? would appreciate the feedback. Thanks!
good point and safety instruction, not to mention the courtesy of avoiding everyone's lines. i subbed, thanks brother fg in 1973 i was caught by the fisher of men - most important event of my life, 49 years ago this summer.
Man getting in the deep water fighting a big fish is asking for trouble. I live in eastern nc and fish hatteras and ocracoke and we dont do that up here.
I thought you didn't go into the surf because the oyster beds in the carolinas. AND ..... I've wade fished for miles in NC. But it was never as fun as in Florida.
Got to know how to fish them.....if they bury at the the bottom you pull tight and strum the line like a guitar to get them moving again. Rays are good eating,if you like scallops and order them from a restaurant you're very likely eating ray instead....lol A lot of restaurants do that...
Your advice about not walking after your fish is wrong, IMO. Where I fish if you don’t follow your fish down the beach, you will hear about it from the other fisherman and not in a friendly way. Most people when they see you hooked up and the fish heading their way will reel in and get out of your way, but allowing a big ray or shark to pull 200+ yds of line down the beach is not the way to do it. The quicker you get straight up and down on the fish, the better. But you are correct about not getting into the water with them. Nothing good comes from that.nice video, I need to get down to Florida more often.
Ignore this if you're really new at this, but when you get something to show us,you REALLY need to learn where your gopro is aimed.I think I saw a fish head before I finally bailed,
