May have started on the "struggle bus" but you were outside in the fresh air and catching fish even a few keepers. Looked like the bite was starting to pick up. Great video
Great video Matthew your perseverance paid off great variety of fish make sure you share them fish tacos with the girls really love watching you guys starting to hit the beach more may God bless you as always👍
Fishing for tailor (bluefish) can be a pain when they've slammed the bait before you even get the slack out of the line after casting. Happens quite a bit when surf fishing here in Queensland. I think it's mainly to do with the surf being a lot bigger so you have to cast at more of an upward angle to clear the breakers, which induces more slack in the line. Not sure.
Matt…another great day on the beach! I think one of the most incredible aspects of surf fishing in gulf and on southern east coast is the variety of species and this video a “prime” example! My best to you and your sweet family. A “Bummy Stick” Owner, Jim Hill
Honestly, you're going through the same thing I've been seeing all over, on YT and in person. The fish are there, they just refuse to bite anything that they would normally hit, unless they're pretty young. You really make it work, seeing as how you can be entertaining even when you're on the struggle bus! Edit: I wish we had a freshwater equivalent to sand fleas!
Struggle Bus is right - I feel ya. Had a similiar thing happen to me last week Drum fishing at Chnocteague VA. Bluefish kept grabbing my cut bait several time in a row and pulled drag but could not hook em. Exciting but frustrating.
The seaweed has been rough up here too! It seems like the hot to cold swings with incoming High pressure systems isn't going to help either. Seems like its been really hard to get on big Pomp This year as well!
I really enjoy watching you catch fish especially the six or so typical species. I was not a fish eater but learn to be now I love them. It's always great to watch you fillet them and cook them. It would be great to watch you learn different recipes for fish. The education of rigging and catching is really cool, but I think the reward payoff is a great dimension to a video
Aloha, and I agree with you on the cooking. It seems to be blackened, fried, or tacos with these guys. You would think they’d like to expand. Then I remembered his Cape Cod video with 5 adults sitting around a table and nobody knew how to make mash potatoes. Not dissing, enjoy their content.
Strugglebus great vid showing that it’s not all the time that fish jump on the hook. You have to sometimes just wait or change up the bait the get the reaction your looking for. As always 1st class content!!💯
What was CRAZZIE is that you threw back that 'tank of a Whiting!' I'm up north, and had I caught that fish, it would have made it 'all' 1,200 miles back home!! But, I still really enjoyed the entire content of this and ALL of your vids!! This was an exhilarating vid to watch!!
You came through in the end Matt. I would have kept that big whiting as well, but it's also good to let the breeding size go. The pompano did make it worth the struggle in the end. Keep up the good videos and us laughing. 🤣👍👍
Struggle Bus! But all worth it to be in the great outdoors and landing that pomp at the end. Spent 4 hrs in the yak last weekend and caught a beauty Red at last stop. All worth it and blessed to have the ability to do so. Great vid as usual Matt!
Pal... I've been waiting all year to come down here an fish. This is day 5 of me on vacation reeling lines in with freaking seaweed. Caught some whiting, but its been ROUGH. Worst October I've had in the 11 years we've been coming to Fort Morgan.
Even a bad day fishing, is better then a day inside, in front of the computer. I will fish the Gulf one of these days. I have two set ups that I think would work great, rod and reel wise. Stay safe and Tight Lines.
Hello…another cool video. Could you please share your GoPro picture setting…..flat or natural? How do you color correct your video…..manual or LUTS’s? Cheers Andrew
I was in the area fishing the whole time. It was definitely a struggle for everyone fishing around the super moon and 4 tides a day. You probably won't read this but I caught my first keeper pomps in the Gulf Shores park and I wanted to thank you. I caught both during slack tide and experimenting while casting WAY past the second sandbar!? Anyway would have thanked you personally on Wednesday but you were way too busy filming Brant. It is understandable as you guys are some of the hardest working people on RU-vid. The afternoon bites were best for sure.
Strugglebus. So many days it be’s that way! Freshwater up here is so busy with white perch/crappie/sac au lait biting already. Micro gear and the kayak equals a fun day! I love to see that you are doing so well. I met you on a Melbourne trip with Caleb. I cooked for you at Melbourne Seafood Station. They call me Mama Jess😁 stay Bummy, I’ve enjoyed watching you blow up😃
Here in the midwest, we use mostly baitrunner reels. Have you tried these reels? You dont have to mess with your drag at all. No danger of loosing a rod. I watch you every day here in Iowa.
