This video will go through a part of town that has the Louisville Zoo, Bellarmine University, The Louisville Seminary and Seneca Park. Most of the neighborhoods in this section of the city are upper middle class, such as Deer Park, Highlands Douglass and Audubon Park. The area that I go through for this video is also pretty safe as crime is kept to a minimum.

Thanks for this video, it means a lot to me. My mom and her siblings grew up on Roanoke in the house next door to the one on the right side of the frame at 28:11, and I grew up visiting my grandmother there every summer. I learned to roller skate and ride a bike on the streets of Deer Park. My husband and I chose to live in the Highlands for the first two years we were married in the early 90's so that we could be close to my grandmother and aunt and walk to everything we needed. It will always be the most special neighborhood in the world to me. Some people's lottery win fantasy homes are penthouses or mansions...mine is a Craftsman bungalow in Deer Park.

It's pronounced Bell-nap. The K is silent. I wish you had show Ivanhoe Ct., and Maplewood Pl. Both are pedestrian courts with a sidewalk separating the front yards. They're quite charming.

It really is. I moved to Louisville from New Jersey in 2014 and I wish I had this to help me. Luckily I was in St. Matthews when I first moved here. My suggestion is stay east of I65. It is better in terms of safety, better homes & apartments (although more expensive), activities, malls, parks, hospitals, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Good luck to you. I can say Louisville is a very good place to live.

Most people can't afford to live in St. Matthew's. All of the good jobs are reserved for certain people apparently. I actually moved away from Louisville in 2014 for this very reason. There is job discrimination against certain populations in Louisville and it doesn't matter if you're educated. We could never make over 6 figures in Louisville like we make now living in a more progressively, diverse state where education evens the playing field. If you're from a certain population in Louisville, education doesn't even the playing field. Job industries in Louisville hire discriminatorily.

Thank you for all these Louisville videos!! I’m learning so much of my home city!! Especially this one.. never spent a lot time in these areas! Especially the first few neighborhoods in this upload 🥰🥰🥰🥰 I grew up in 40214, you already covered one part of the zip in your south Lville upload.. but I lived on the other side of Iroquois Park.. looks like it’s going to be in your 8th upload in your Lville series. The second of these videos covering my old stamping grounds. As a kid I lived just down the street from the Bullock-Clifton House. It was in poor repair and a dull gray. We didn't know any of it's history and called it the "Charles Addams house". It looks great now. By the way, Belknap is pronounced Bell-nap.

I don't think anyone that lives here would consider Audubon Park or Poplar Level Rd upper middle class. The East End is where those folks live.

But you know Chris, Louisville people catch a bad reputation due to the rest of Kentucky...those people in the mountains of Appalachia. Louisville is nothing like the rest of Kentucky. It's 2 totally different worlds. Anyway, I think you are balanced and funny the way you explore Louisville. Keep it up!
