PHIDX took a lot of heat; but thousands of players can learn from this and improve . i give PHID props for being willing to take criticism and share it. Props to Speed kicks for coaching other players.

I can relate so much to what speedkicks was saying about having an idea of what you want to do and then trying to force the optimal situation for that thing.

I call this "fishing for moves." Every time I do it, I get whooped. A fight is all about being formless like water, so the moment you blindly just do things without adjusting to the present moment, you lose.

I learned this on SF6 but for some reason cannot get on the flow with T8 (yet) there's simply to much on my plate, to many stuff on my move list, same to my opponent, to many ways of landing on the ground and wake up from it for both sides and on top of that the scenario layouts... game is driving me crazy... but i love it so far, I only hope they tone it down a little bit in the next patch, sht is too crazy

You have an audience for this longer form content! Although it may not get the views you are looking for/expecting, this vid/vod in particular is like coaching and although im not at the same level as you alot of what speedkicks was saying resonated with me. It made me realize i tunnel vision in trying to do what move or option that I WANT instead of doing something like dash block or sidestepping to create the ideal situation for me. Thanks for the vid Phi!

Amazing video. It was refreshing to see someone already at a pro level openly dissect their play and be so coachable. Your positivity is infectious. Love everything you post. Ive been a longtime fan but the range of content you are putting around makes you the GOAT of tekken content. Introduced so many of my friends to your channel and IMO it has been the difference between them sticking with the game and dropping it like any other fighter they have tried. Thank you for all you do and looking forward to more in the future.

This is really cool and I appreciate you for posting this. The dashing into a block then getting jabbed into a frame disadvantage leading to a kick in the face was crazy. Then watching you realize the mistakes by him pointing them out was really refreshing to see considering how good ik you are as a Tekken player. I've only ever played arcade mode Tekken on Ps2 so Tekken 8 has been an uphill climb and so far I'm Assailant in Ranked. I lose a lot more than I win

The point about balancing decisions between gameplay state and opponent actions reminds me of actual boxing advice I heard: "Be aware of the macro situation first and the micro second". Meaning that if you manage to dominate the center of the ring and your opponent is constantly having to evade the ropes/corner you are more likely to win than if you get a couple hits in with your back against the ropes.
