I'm not even sure if that's only modern women or women in general. I've noticed that when a woman knows very little of something, only then is it easy to convince them. Once they're convinced of something by someone else, it's very difficult/impossible to shake them from their current view of things. Because society doesn't punish them as little girls when they screw up, a lot of them grow up never believing anything is their fault. And it's really difficult to make them accept and believe in accountability and inner flaws when they've been initially convinced they're perfect.

I tell my younger family members if the average starting salary is less than your loan debt, it's probably a bad choice for a career field. Also, it's pointless to pay to attend a prestige school unless you know how to use the alumni network. And no, attending an online certificate from MIT or Harvard is not the same thing as actually attending those universities. Beware the online university training industrial complex.

It was one of those situations where they needed to show interviewers from a variety of racial / gender backgrounds and this particular field was heavily black and female. It was the holidays and I was neither black or female, so tag I'm it. Anyway, I literally was given a list of ten questions that would be asked and a list of acceptable responses. My job was to grade each response based on how many of the ticket items they hit. Well, we have interviews going on all day. And I started noticing a trend as I think the other interviewers were too. People with online degrees were doing horrible in the interviews and all 10 questions were low level stuff. Me not even being in the field and I could have answered five out of ten questions with an acceptable answer. And we have people blowing the interview like they were trying to fail. Near the end of the day we are waiting for one of the last interviewers to finish the paperwork so I took a moment to look over her application. University of Phoenix. When I said that I literally heard the other two interviewers groan. And yeah, she did as bad as we all thought she would. I think she got 3 out of 10 questions right. My point to this story from about 12 years ago is that claiming a degree gets your foot into the interview. But we don't care if you went ivy league or online community college. If you don't know your $%^&, you not only wasted our time, you wasted a whole lot of yours and a whole lot of your borrowed money.

I know several stay at home dads and one who works part time where the wife's income capacity is double to triple what the men could have done. They do not do all the things a traditional stay at home wife does around the house and they don't go out of their way to support the woman's career as the main source of income for the house even though they jointly made the decisions about who would work. Women are described as selfish when they have careers whereas men are called good providers. Men more automatically get clerical help but women are told "you don't have administrative assistants, do it yourself:" On the flipside, I know stay at home wives that iron their husband's clothes, pack them lunch, and the husband actually delegates some of his own work to them like they are admin assistants, such as making calls and travel arrangements etc. I've seen delegations that were inappropriate that I can't mention in public - not illegal but probably not ethical. I'd say men rarely value the work women do at home because it is taken-for-granted or unseen.
